We arrived at 3:30 PM for a 3:00 PM check-in. The tent/cabin was so unbearably hot that we literally couldn't stay inside. Within minutes we were sweating and struggling to breathe, so we had to step back outside. We left for a few hours, hoping the AC would cool the cabin while we were gone, but when we returned it was still extremely hot.
When I reached out to the host, they were rude, offered no apology, and made no effort to help. Instead, they simply told me it takes several hours for the cabin to cool down and to "check the policies and information." However, nowhere in the listing or check-in information does it state that guests should expect to wait several hours after check-in before the cabin becomes comfortable. If check-in is at 3:00 PM but the cabin isn't expected to cool until 7:00 PM or later, that's something guests should be told in advance. After a long day of traveling, the last thing you want is to wait hours before you can comfortably relax or sleep.
I've camped and glamped many times over the years, and I've never experienced anything like this. Every other host I've stayed with has either turned the AC on before arrival or otherwise made sure the accommodation was comfortable by check-in.
The property also looked nothing like the listing photos. There was no real check-in area--just the host's house. When we approached, there was an aggressive dog barking and growling at us. The property had trash lying around, tarps scattered about, torn fencing, and generally appeared run-down and poorly maintained. It was nothing like what was advertised.
Overall, this was one of the most disappointing glamping experiences I've had. Between the misleading listing, the unbearably hot cabin, and the poor customer service, I would not recommend staying here. read more
