Last time we stayed here- it was at a property outside of town. When I inquired about availability- 3 weeks ago- I called directly and Carol answered the phone so early in the morning! When other properties had their voicemail activated. We were told we pay the day of arrival. And there are 2 options to pick from. Cash $85 or $95 on card!! No tvs in the rooms- but, there's a covered patio with tons of tables and chairs with a big screen tv. Heat lamp provided also. At least each room has it's own bathroom. Hot water runs quick and does the job! Gravel parking on 10th street.

There are rolling grassy hills that are golden in the winter and green in the summer. A lot of people don't realize that the temperatures down here (due to the elevation) are much like northern Arizona in the winter -- so it's a great alternative to "going north" to cool off in the Summers. Temperatures rarely reach 100 on a Summer day and it cools to the 60s at night -- a luxury we don't get in the Valley! Our most recent visit (February 2012) was windy but gorgeous. No jackets required! Toni, proprietor, has started a gluten-free / allergy-free bakery and makes human AND dog treats! I can vouch for the human treats being delicious -- I especially liked the quinoa cookies. And, there's a lot to do in the area. No less than 11 winery tasting rooms are near by (there is a limo service you can hire if you can't agree on a designated driver). Or visit Parker Canyon Lake which you can walk (5 miles), fish or rent pedal boats or kayaks. Patagona Lake is larger and offers a lot of amenities and both offer camp sites. But, why camp when you can stay at Whisper's Ranch?! And, finally, Kartchner Caverns are a convenient stop on your way back to Phoenix but be sure to make a reservation! Southern Arizona, and particularly Whisper's Ranch, are great alternatives to heading north for a quick getaway!

They do ask for advance reservations - the owner mentioned that her husband died suddenly, leaving her with many responsibilities, to include running 5 businesses with little help! We got a tour of the animal sanctuary next door, and we're so happy to patronize a business that supports such a worthwhile charity. The location is peaceful, near the vineyards, and surrounded by the National Forest. Hard to find accommodations like this for this price! Highly recommended for a peaceful get away. No tv's means you get to reconnect with your traveling companion!! It was wonderful!

We enjoyed the fire pits and they even sell S'mores kits for only $5 and even provide sticks! We booked same day and felt so lucky they had space to accommodate us. We hung out at the pool, it was cold but we still enjoyed ourselves, they had good seating and lounge chairs. You could rent bikes (I believe this is included, no charge) breakfast was included! And the view, wow that alone is breathtaking. When we come back to Tombstone we will definitely be staying here.

This motel was recommended by a sweet woman by the name of Lisa. Lisa is a known person in tombstone and so everyone knows her. I went on one of her tours, and my father and i wanted to stay the night since the gift shops and stuff were all closed when we arrived. (5:58pm) Her tour talks about the history of tombstone, I definitely recommend taking her tours ! $20 for a person each, $10 for children. Anywho, We had asked Lisa any recommendations to stay the night here, and the first thing she said was The Larian. Like I said, I do NOT go to motels whatsoever. A lot of them are not clean, there's bed bugs, and it's just chaos. Not here. When i check for bed bugs or even just bugs in general- I look. There was nothing. Not one single bug (Except for the little stinkers from outside that found their way in.) behind the bed, there's a bug trap. I don't know if that's normal, but When I saw that, I Knew I was good. There's working ac, and even though i didn't get a good pic of the room, it was colorful and had character. even the shower was neat! In conclusion, this place is awesome ! Please come here if you're ever visiting Tombstone!

Its location is superb, within walking distance of good restaurants and major tourist attractions. The bed was extremely comfortable, better than at a high-priced hotel we visited later in our trip. I liked our room's high ceilings. The motel's decor is very 1980's but very clean and comfortable. Our room had a refrigerator and a microwave; my sister-in-law had a fridge but no microwave. We had a wall-mounted clothes rack, my sister-in-law may have had a closet. Our room was farther from the road and very quiet; my sister-in-law was closer to the road and had some noise. Each room has two wood rocking chairs outside the door, under a large overhang offering sun and rain protection. The people sitting outside are friendly. Our room had a comfortable sofa with a movable floor lamp. We had a nightstand with a good reading light on one side of the bed. I don't know whether we could have moved the floor lamp over to the other side of the bed. The motel is close to downtown Tombstone and these major attractions to which we walked: the Courthouse Museum, the Bird Cage Theatre (museum), the Rose Tree Museum, the Crystal Palace bar, Big Nose Kate's Saloon, the Longhorn restaurant, Undertaker's Coffee, Cowboy Coffee Bar, gunfights on Allen St, carriage rides on Allen St., various shops, etc. Here are some places farther away that we would probably have needed to drive to. Boothill Cemetery is one of them.

The amazing free HOT breakfast featured a fantastic spread. I like and appreciate that they write the menu out nightly. This is the first hotel I've seen a pancake maker and a super automatic coffee espresso machine maker with at least 15 options. The french vanilla hot chocolate is so good. They have a touchless bottle-refilling water fountain. Great place for spending your afternoons relaxing by the nice pool and hot tub, and evenings spent out on the patio by the fire pit looking at the beautiful mountains. There's a pub next door and a Circle K across the street that you can walk to.. Walmart, fast food, chain resturants and a mall is six miles or less. It is definitely cooler in the closed room because that's where the air conditioner is. It was perfect for two people who have differing ideas of what temperature they want. The owner helped us and he was very helpful and welcoming. He is very proud of the inn and will tell you about the nearby places to eat etc. He got us checked in quickly, and we must say this small inn is the cleanest motel we ever stayed in and you can't beat the rates. We could hear every foot step above us as the floors are creaky. They offer coffee in the lobby so I went to get some. Unfortunately the doors were still locked at 7:01am, not sure what time they open. Went back again around 7:20, one door was unlocked but the coffee wasn't finished brewing. We just left to find a place to buy coffee.
