Absolutely the best motel experience!! Very quiet motel on the eastern edge of Tombstone. Perfect walking distance to town and all of the excitement...... far enough away to get away from all of the excitement. Jordan and Dino were great! Friendly, efficient and accommodating. There is a great place to gather with a bbq and outdoor kitchen. Made me wish I had some more of our family with us. There is a small breakfast bar area, also outside, with coffee, hot chocolate, Sunny D, tea and pastries. Perfect way to start your day. Well done gentleman... well done! Stayed here 3 nights and I can say it was a very cute quiet little place. Is it run down a little? Yeah... but the whole town is. That's the idea; the town is from the 1880's with that theme played through out the town so you can't really expect The Hilton's. I loved our stay (even if the bed was kind of loud with any move lol). The owner Ernie and Barb were extremely friendly and accommodating. This review is based on a new management which took place in September, 2023. Hospitality and respect goes into this review from the management. Our MC chapter attends Tombstone every year for about 16 years and 1/2 of the townships lodging have been in repair or replacement of items. Keep in mind we as lodgers have a lot of responsibilities in our actions as breaking items while drinking alcohol or involuntary forceful expulsion of one's stomach on carpets or other surfaces. So on so on. But overall that said we never had any issues with being stupid. The Trail Rider's Inn has came along way in terms of hospitality in cleanliness, up to date repairs, maid service, and always checking in with you on any questions or issues which may arise during your stay. This used to be my only go to when I'd stay in Tombstone multiple times a year. I always raved about it and recommended it to everyone. Haven't been in almost 6 years and so disappointed! It's run down and has lost its charm. The vending machines are gone, soap dispensers are empty (had to ask the office for hand soap), the mini shampoo bottle has about 1/3 in it and the morning coffee and pastries is a joke. read more

We have stayed here several times in the past - never again. We had reservations - email confirmation and when we arrived they had no room for us. The rude desk person said it was "a glitch in the system" and just kept saying "I don't know what to tell you" instead of apologizing or offering to help find someplace else to stay. Okay, there are a few positive things I do want to give credit for. First of all, the location is fantastic!!! It was a 2-minute walk, if that, to get to the main areas of town. Although the office was closed until 2pm, we had no problem calling the number provided and arranging to check in early. Misty was very nice and accommodating, as was the cleaning staff person who showed us a couple rooms or us to choose from. We opted for the double-bed, no-TV room (I think it was #15). Although the other room ($14?) was much larger and had two beds and a TV, we figured we'd leave it for someone who actually needed two beds. No biggie. Yes, the room was old and shabby but we didn't mind that- it actually kinda helped set the mood for our trip to the small, historic, haunted, wild west town of Tombstone. Unfortunately, there were too many issues that are preventing me from rating this 3 stars. The biggest problem was the dirty toilet. Dirty toilet- that's just plain nasty. And it barely flushed. Water pressure seemed to be an issue for the entire bathroom, since the shower barely drizzled. Additionally, the quilt and pillows on the bed, though clean, smelled musty. The mattress was super-squeaky and just not comfortable. I almost never wake up with an achy back but I did that morning, and throughout the night my husband and I kept waking up because it was impossible to move without the whole bed moving and loudly creaking. The walls were incredibly thin as well. I know that comes with the territory with virtually all hotels/motels/etc, but this was excessive. The people next door weren't really being loud- it sounded like they were speaking normally, but we could hear every word, and when someone slammed a door, we could actually feel our own wall shake. Lastly, there were a couple small holes in the walls, which we plugged up with tissues. Bottom line, I'd be willing to stay here again if it stays considerably cheaper than anywhere else. However, I will definitely explore all other options first. read more

Stayed one night .. older travel lodge type place.. our room was room 18 had a little patio and was located by the patio bbq pit coffee area... single bed .. room was clean and had a fireplace , tv and air conditioner.... $85 a night... totally worth staying at this place if you are wanting to hang out in tombstone or at the bars ... we had a great time... continental breakfast consisted of coffee and dry creamer boiled eggs and little Debbie snack cakes and juice ... we would for sure stay again if we came through town read more

We stayed here for one night when we were checking out the town of Tombstone. Everyone who works here is *REALLY* friendly, and are great for making recommendations about what to see and do in the town. The rates are reasonable, the rooms are really clean, the heat works well, and the pool/jacuzzi facilities are a nice touch. The only drawbacks that I can mention are that the beds were a little on the uncomfortable side (they felt really springy), and something pretty typical of most ground-level rooms on motels is that you can hear *everything* going on outside. All in all, this place is a great place to stay when you're in Tombstone. It's literally a block away from the main 'strip' of Tombstone, so especially if you plan to stay out carousing at one of the many wonderful bars, I'd definitely recommend staying here! read more

We needed a hotel in the Bisbee area that accepted pets, and this place fit the bill. The staff was extremely nice and helpful, and the room was... adequate. We could hear our neighbors shuffling around in the adjacent rooms, which is never good, but other than that, everything was good, room-wise. Location wise, you're across the street from the main drag. Doesn't seem to be much else going on in Tombstone. The hotel has a hot tub, which is nice in the cold desert nights. The continental breakfast was endearingly bad - hard-boiled eggs, undrinkable orange "juice," and weak coffee. Was torn between 3 and 4 stars for this one, but ended up with 3 - you can get much better accommodations in Bisbee for the price, but if you are looking for semi-budget hotels in Tombstone, this place'll fit the bill. read more

Everyone is sooo nice here. The rooms are retro and super neat in a groovy way!! They are spacious and very comfortable. They have a nice tv, fridge and microwave. The pool is nice and clean. They even have a hot tub called the Tiki love shack. We are for sure coming back to stay read more

This little motel used to be so good! Now, not so much. We arrived late. The sign in the door said to call, with a number listed. I called a couple of times with no answer, just a voicemail. We were cold and tired. It was 10:45. So, I called again. Someone answered this time and hung up on me. This is customer service?? I'm spending almost $200 with these people. I expect better! After waiting for about 30 min. For a call back, my fiancé noticed a light on in a room. After some checking, he found the door unlocked with a key and receipt on the nightstand. The receipt had my card number. Okay, so we have a room after all. It would have been nice to know this. Not one call or email. Nothing in the welcome email. Now the room. The mattresses look like something pulled from a dumpster dive. Very old, saggy, and uncomfortable. The shower was awful! What little water coming out was a tiny sharp stream that really really stung your sensitive parts! Talk about a rude awakening!! The little breakfast table used to be a decent little quicky breakfast. There was no coffee the first morning. The hard boiled eggs were very over cooked. Large community bottles of juice looked suspiciously like the ones sitting out the night before. So, the location is great! The 2nd morning I was so excited to see coffee. It was the very cold! The bottles of juice were left all day, and were still there the 2nd morning. It was early, and no hot cereal packets were there. There is no pride in ownership. The previous owners never would have let this happen. They would put the breakfast stuff out, and then put it away by 1000; and there was always coffee, and it was hot! If I wanted iced coffee, I would have gone to circle K! At least there were no bedbugs. It's a shame this place has gone downhill. It was so nice. It just shows the current owners just don't care. We are frequent flyers to Tombstone. We will try the little motel down the street. $200 is a lot of money for me, and I expect better. read more

My fiance and I were driving cross country staying in budget motels along the way and, let me tell you, this place was a breath of fresh air! Tombstone pretty much closes up once it gets dark and we didn't have hotel reservations anywhere, but the owner came back to check us in even though she'd already gone home for the night. We literally spent hours chatting with her- a charming and very friendly lady from England who fell in love with Tombstone. It felt more like a simple bed and breakfast than a typical motel or chain hotel. The rooms were very clean with comfortable beds and big, luxurious towels. They have a nice pool with a fountain and a continental breakfast of doughnuts, pastries, fruit and coffee. Highly recommended if you're looking for a pleasant and affordable place to stay in Tombstone. read more

I have stayed at the Trail Rider Inn for several years at least once a year. It was a convenient motel to the attractions in Tombstone. The Motel was run by a nice English couple who truly seemed to enjoy your visit and loved to chat and took care to make sure everything was as you needed it. Sadly my last stay will be just that. We pulled up to find two women sitting outside of the office smoking who frankly looked like had just wondered by off of the street and decided this was a good place for smoke. When I walked up to the office I was surprised that one of the women followed me in and walked behind the counter to check me in. She was followed by the second woman who brought her cigarette in with her and stood next to me with the lit cigarette while I was checking in. At no time during me checking in was I asked anything other than my ID and Credit Card. No welcome, do you have any questions about the area, etc. The room we were given was the weirdest accommodation I've ever seen. This must have been a storage closet at some point and in all my years going there had never seen it before. It was tucked between two buildings and when you walked in you could barely move in any direction because the bed took up the whole floor. It was cold out and freezing in the room. There was some kind of picture frame electric fake fireplace hanging on the wall that was barely warm. The bathroom was behind the front door and just cold and uninviting. Needless to say we asked to switch rooms and were told that we could have another room in a minute after the bed was made up. At that the cigarette toting woman walked into another room and made the bed. She did leave her cigarette outside this time. When our room was ready the other woman let us in and proceeded to explain that they were having a slight mouse problem and that's why there were mousetraps around the room. 6 of them. and 3 glue boards. Normally at this I would have just left but the room was otherwise clean and I had moved our luggage now a few times since taking it out of the car. We were happy that none of the traps snapped during the night and it was just for one night. We packed up the next morning and said farewell to what was once a nice place to stay in Tombstone. The owners better start paying attention and step things up or they will soon find they have lost all of their regular clientele. read more

This was my 2nd stay here and i love it. So much fun and the employees/owners are super nice. This visit i was upset bcuz no one bothered to call the people with reservations or even give a discount because they had no television/cable service. Its only a problem when u have people who can't sleep without a t.v. on or children who wanna watch a movie. So yea it kinda threw a monkey wrench in to the equation. Tombstone is a sleepy town. Not much going on after 8 p.m. and thats nice. Hung out at the pool and the love shack lol. The property is clean. The rooms are very decent. Parking is only limited when theres a ride going on. The continental breakfast is pretty cool. Coffee which everyone deserves lol. Bbq spot is so fun. They even have a bar w/fridge for the patrons to use. Ill come back and even recommend this place. Me and my girlfriend stayed here after riding our Motorcycle back home to New Mexico from Mesa. It was very clean and comfortable. The staff were great and recommended the right spots for our taste to visit. We were able to park our Bike right outside our door. The price was right, I highly recommend it. read more

We booked 2 nights for a weekend trip to Tombstone based on reviews and pictures online. When we arrived the outside was run down; the inside of the rooms were worse. We of course had already paid. Found another place to stay for our weekend away. They did refund one night but did not understand what the problem was. Our friends had a hole in the door where someone had punched it. read more

Whoops...where is the maintenance staff? The double bed we had I guess to be over 25 years old....the mattress and box spring! 2 flat pillows were included for our comfort! Perfect if you have dogs on your trip! The owner was super nice and very accommodating. We have 3 Med/lg dogs. So it is always fun trying to find a place to stay. All rooms open to the outside, and she put us on the end by an area where we could walk the dogs. The room was very simple and small, but it was clean and sufficient for the price. The pool looked beautiful though we didn't use it. Not sure what the other hotels in Tombstone are like, but this one was great for us. We just walked Accross the street to see the sites. On a side note, the corned beef hash at the OK Cafe was amazing & the Bird Cage theater was really cool. read more
