Place is okay, but service is awful. Can't ever get anyone on the phone, and they never check messages, so VM box is full. I finally got someone via text. Asked to confirm we were in the Earp room. I specifically booked this place for that room and was not willing to pay what they charged otherwise. She first said Room 2. I replied is that the Earp room. I then saw on their Facebook page the room I wanted was called Room 1. I asked again to confirm we had the room I actually booked, so I could cancel if not. I was assured we were in the Earp room. They straight lied! Note that they ONLY show photos from the Earp room on the booking pages. They even include verbiage that talks about this being the Earp room with those decorations we wanted. But, they actually have 3 rooms and only one is decorated that way. The one they actually put us in was a boring "Settlers" room with cactus pictures, reminiscent of any cheap Phoenix motel. I'm from AZ, so not impressed by cacti. No one was there at checkout to discuss this with. The office is always empty. As for the room, it was okay, just not worth what I was charged. If they had admitted they didn't put us in the room I actually booked, I would have cancelled and moved to the place up the hill for $45 less plus free breakfast included. Great stay and so close to Tombstone! I felt safe walking back and forth from the hotel even at night. The room was perfectly remodeled with such cute decor. There were a few things that I think would improve the hotel...I wish there a small table in the room. I wish there was a hook to hang up a bath towel especially since we don't get fresh towels every night we stay. Lastly, I wish the water pressure was a bit stronger. All in this room was fantastic and met our every need. I would stay again! Book at the sage brush website since that gives you the best rate and so the hotel doesn't have to pay 3rd party booking vendors! read more

It's a really historic motel on a quiet street in Tombstone, Az. It's been restored, and is a short walk to Tombstone attractions. We were quite comfortable, although some of the amenities are a slight learning curve to master--including the heater & Tv remote-There are lots of detailed instructions. We'd return! read more

I was traveling across the country moving. And I'd booked a room here to have a little fun. But there was a huge accident on the 10 and we were delayed almost 7 hours. Just from the accident. I'd already driven 6 hours. No way could I make it there. When I called and explained what happened they refunded my money and were absolutely lovely about it. No hassle. Now this was extenuating circumstances, they had ZERO obligation to refund me. But they did. And for that I'm eternally grateful. I truly wish we'd been able to stay there. Stayed in John Wayne SUITE (what a joke!) A real Disappointment ... stay away. Dead flies on kitchen windowsill & dusty dirty shades. Broken uneven tile counter tops on bar area, with wood frame separating from counter top, an accident waiting to happen. Frig so small you can barely use it. High wobbly unstable bar stools, LUMPY uncomfortable mattresses (both), burnt out light bulbs in kitchen fixtures, and missing nobs on lower cupboard with jutting metal screw end exposed. No space in bathroom, nowhere to hang towels, large corner BROKEN jacuzzi tub, awkward placement of shower head causing water to spill out on floor, had to use kitchen sink to brush teeth due to cramped quarters. Staff was polite, but the place was a DIVE! STAY AWAY ...far far away!!! read more

I recently did a mini vacay to Tombstone and Bisbee. I'd stayed @ Sagebrush yrs ago and I remember that John Wayne had stayed there while filming a western w/Maureen O'Hara. I just have to share this on the review of Sagebrush. The highlight of the vacay was @ Sagebrush,...sitting on the patio furniture overlooking the Dragoon Mts & feeling a cool breeze blowing upwards towards us. I went down to my room and grabbed some cold Estrella beer. I slowly sipped it and just let the cool breeze from the Dragoon Mts sweep up on me. A guest staying @ the Motel joined myself and my Dog,..then, her friend,....then,..2 more girls joined us. We all just laughed and enjoyed til midnight. It was the best. The pics are what you see when you sit on the patio furniture overlooking the Dragoon Mts. It was a great time and I can't wait to go back. read more

This is a quaint little place to stay in Tombstone. There were both good and bad during my recent stay, but overall it wasn't too bad. The first negative was that upon my arrival there was nobody on duty to check me in. There was an envelope clipped to the door, but the name on it was not mine. I called the number posted on the door but nobody answered. However a short time later the owner returned my call, and sent someone to provide my key. The room itself was ok, definitely dated, but that's the whole idea in Tombstone. Figuring out the lighting layout was interesting, but once I did I got some lights on. The room was basic but adequate, a fridge, a microwave, and a coffee maker were provided. My room also had a spa tub, and a fireplace. Not sure if it was a working one however as I couldn't find any way to turn it on. The bed was definitely in need of replacing but I slept ok. Water pressure could be better as well, but the spa tub was definitely a nice touch. The location is very good as it is a short walk to the tourist attractions. I would definitely stay here again, when in the Tombstone area. read more

These are not complaints, these are FYI's for you.I paid $140 for one night.It was at best a $70 room, I guess u pay for the name "Tombstone"When I arrived , the lady at the desk asked if I have a reservation, which I responded yes, she then hands me a key and says ur in room 7, I was like no Id check or anything, she said I was the last one left and every1 else had already checked in. I was like but.......There were 10 shopping channels, 3 sports, 2 news and one other channel.I got 5 minutes of hot water, maybe because it was in the evening and everybody was getn ready for bed.No 1 answers the phone when u call.It always goes to voicemail. There's nowhere to put anything down in the restroom.The cover on the bedding was an old quilt.Thats it rant over, I won't stay there again. read more

This is a long review but worth the read I promise!! The Sagebrush Inn is one of the best places I've stayed in by far and I have traveled the country at historically landmarks over the years, this place takes the top spot easily. Very convenient self check-in (my late check in was 9pm due to traveling). We stayed in the Wyatt Earp room which had spectacular decor you could see the care that goes into this property. The room was equipped with 2 queen beds, exceptionally large bathroom, kitchenette/sitting area with coffee maker, microwave, & a mini fridge! Extra kudos for focusing on the small details here as the products stocked in the room (hand soap, shampoo, conditioner, body wash) are all of high quality. Normally I feel extremely dry after using hotel soaps, that is the opposite with the soap here. Additionally, the shampoo and conditioner washed my hair and didn't leave it dry or dehydrated afterwards! I will be scheduling a family Vacation here in the future for sure!! read more

Wife and I came on our 3year anniversary, from view of them pictures thought it was going to be a cute motel to stay in. It is extremely small for two people, hot water take 10-20min to actually start heating up. If you want an actual shower that works this is not the place. The shower dribbles. The front office person is only there from 2-430/5pm. So when it says 24/7 it's not true. We tried to enjoy the fire pit but the propane was empty as was the grill that we apparently cannot use. The only decent part was some of the housekeeping they were friendly atleast. read more

We got in after dark so I didn't get to take any photos, but this motel is fantastic! Appears to have been renovated within the last few years... very nice shower and bathroom! We had the two queen suite, so there was a sitting room area as well. We travel with our own small camping cot for my daughter, and the extra space was perfect for it! The room had a microwave and coffee maker, and huge tv! The patio area has a small fire pit/table that was really cozy and was beautiful in the morning as well. The beds were comfy and the AC worked great! Will stay there again! read more

This place was all that I wanted it to be. Sweet, comfortable and near town and all the activities. It was clean, cozy, homey and I will be back but next time in the John Wayne room lol. We had the Josey Wales room. Out of the way, good parking, nice place. I'm happy we went! I had flowers delivered to the motel and to the room. The entire experience was exactly what I wanted! While the room was extremely small, it still did the job. We hardly spent any time in the room, except to sleep & shower, so the size really didn't bother us. You really get the full cowboy experience when staying here! It's conveniently located very close to everything you'd want to do while in Tombstone. It was less than a 5 minute walk to Fremont street where the OK Corral & the Saloons are. The guy working in the front office was helpful and informative... It was our first time visiting Tombstone, he suggested we stop by Doc Hollidays Saloon, Big Nose Kates, and the OK Corral Reenactment show. We did it all, and so glad we did! Thanks for the suggestions! We'd definitely stay here again, but would opt for the bigger room next time around, if available. read more

What a wonderful time we had at the SageBrush Inn! We stayed in the John Wayne Room and it was glorious. The heating is excellent, hot water and water pressure in the shower are perfect. There are two queen sized beds, my husband has a picky back so he preferred one over the other. One is soft and one is hard, for myself I don't care as long as I'm horizontal:) My only wish would be for rugs on the floors because the tile was cold in January but 10/10 we would definitely stay here again. I highly recommend. The John Wayne Room has a sink, microwave, and small refrigerator but does not have any cooking implements due to health code restrictions so bring your own. They did provide styrofoam cups in the bathroom, and I rang ahead so I knew to bring my own bottle opener and Red Solo Cups. read more

I sent this to the SageBrush Inn after numerous attempts to make contact. As of today we still have not had the courtesy of a return call. --- I'm going to hold off on sending my comments.  Two of my Son's and I stayed in the John Wayne Suite September 14th.  The room was actually very nice.  However, he forgot to pack his CD Case and left them in the room.  He and I have both left messages on their Voice Mail to contact him so that they can make arrangements to have the CD Case shipped to him.  As of today NO ONE has attempted to contact him.  This is totally unacceptable and it will change our opinion of our stay at the Sagebrush Inn.  I am leaving my Sons name, address and phone number below.  I would suggest that someone from the Inn contact him immediately to arrange for the shipping of the CD Case.  He did leave it in the room, so I don't want to hear anything like it wasn't in the room. read more

Location is within walking distance to everything in Tombstone.... price for the rooms is a really good deal as well. Booked a room here based on Yelp and TripAdvisor reviews. We got exactly as advertised. Nice bed, soft linens, quaint - stayed in the Doc Holiday room. Mementos galore and we have no complaints. As other reviewers have said, if you are expecting The Ritz, don't stop here or in Tombstone! But if you would like a little bit of history, this is the place to stay! Try for the Glenn Ford room - looks pretty nice as we peeked in the window! read more

Pretty clean motel,very close to main parts of town. My beef. No one on duty till after 3:00. Won't answer the phone. The bed was wore out. The hot water worked when it wanted to. The a/c filter hadn't been cleaned in ages,affected the cooling. The unit was too small for the room,had a hard time keeping it cool during the day. It's a decent motel but I personally won't stay again. I'm not trying to knock the place,I just think a little more effort and few light modern touches would be great. read more

We stayed at the Sage brush inn and we were so happy to find a place where the owner was a hands on proprietor , with a very outgoing personality and a great sense of humor that helped to make our exciting weekend in Tombstone a special trip that we will always hold dear. Great little hotel. And I mean little. I also do mean great. Our room, the Billy Clanton room, was tiny. Tiny! But there was really cool, kitschy cowboy art on the walls, the air conditioning was awesome, and a beautiful deer was grazing just putside our window when we arrived. The bed was comfortable and everyone, from the people who worked there to the other guests, was so nice. The location is perfect -- 2 minutes from everything. And the proce was right!! $63 total!! It's a simple place. If all you need is a clean, nice place to lay your head, look no further! Update!! I have discovered the Sagebrush Inn also has large rooms!! With hot tubs!! It truly has something for everyone!! And they are SO considerate! I left a book there and called to see if anyone found it. It was indeed found and Lynn is mailing it back to me! The Sagebrush Inn cares about its customers and we will be staying there when we visit Tombstone again. I highly recommend it! read more

We didn't mean to stop by Tombstone, Arizona, but it was a last-minute trip in between our final destination. We needed a place to stay for the night before we went on our way. The locals from O.K. Cafe recommended Sagebrush Inn for a night stay, and it wasn't too far from where the shops and sights were. My husband was pretty happy with the place, and he's usually critical in places we stay at (we used to work for a 3-star hotel ourselves). We knew what we were expecting, since it is a motel, but we just wanted a place to sleep in. We expected to just have a bed, a bathroom, and not much else. We got the Mustang Room, quite unexpectedly spacious, with a kitchenette and a breakfast bar. We had two queen-sized beds, and a little sofa bed. The bathroom, I admit, was quite small, but we didn't care. It even had a Jacuzzi tub! We had more than we asked for. The artwork was themed with mustangs (duh!) and cowboys. We also saw the former owner's artwork there (lovely!). The price ($119/night) was what we expected for a last minute stay, maybe would have been a little less if we reserved way beforehand. Loved the history of the place as well, which added a plus in our book! John Wayne, Maureen O'Hara and other famous people stayed there. The area is nice and quiet, and we slept like babies. The person at the front desk was very helpful, excellent customer service. He even let us check in early (around 10am) since they had the room available. The motel is within walking distance to the "downtown" area, with the shops and tourist sights. I would recommend going to Sagebrush Inn to our friends. Quite a pleasant stay! I only gave 4 stars because it is a bit run down & tired. Having said that, the price point is great when ya just need a place to lay your head after a long drive. The vibe is very old west & each room door has a wooden plaque of a well-known gunfighter's name on it. The motel is within walking distance to the main drag where most of the action happens. This inn is ok if all you need is a bed and to say you slept where John wayne did. There's no one at the office until 2, so if you need extra towels you're s.o.l. There aren't any blow driers or silverware. And the place could really use a good dusting, you can write your name in it. read more

Went this weekend to stay at Sagebrush Inn because of the reviews. Well the reviews on here are obviously from family and/or friends because this is one filthy hotel. Filthy floors, water damage on walls, the couch was gross with stains all over it and plywood under the cushions. I've seen cleaner couches at a dumpster. Dead bugs in the room, gritty sand on the bed, dirty coffee pot that looked to have not been cleaned in a very long time. The room looked as if it had not been cleaned in several years, grosd. See all the pics posted, this is no joke and I'm going to contact the health dept. Owners son of the hotel was rude when we finally got in touch with him the next day after leaving several messages the day before that we were not staying in his hotel and going somewhere else, which we did obviously. The guy told me there is nothing wrong with the room, it was clean, he got nasty with me and even hung up on me...Really! The room was filthy, filthy filthy, and please throw away your bug infested couch. We took several pictures of the room, and pictures speak 1000 words. The owners of this place should be embarrassed. Oh and to top it off after I told the guy not to charge my credit card that we had to stay somewhere else, he charged my card anyway. I did a chargeback and this place needs to have the health dept look into them. read more

Historical place 70+ years old and well maintained, I barely received a reservation during the week and was the last room available must be popular and it is affordable, I stayed one night in the "Billy Clanton room" it was a nice small room with cowboy art and pictures, had nice air conditioning, a small refrigerator, coffee machine (with coffee) and direct tv, the facility has wifi but the password was no where to be found in the room, (office was not available to retrieve it after hours) was told it was in the room, make sure to ask for password when checking in, though the receptionist did tell me but didn't write it down. Nice there were extra clean pillows in the cabinet, bed was nice and flat/clean, shampoo and soap available. Great stay and friendly staff! Close to all walking distance to tombstone historic town, a little over a quarter mile to the best parts, real close to ok coral and Boot Hill, I would stay here again : ) read more

Wow where do I start?! We have been to Tombstone several times, it's a quick getaway. Well this trip was the worst ever. We booked the Sage Brush on booking.com. The reviews gave this location 4.8 stars. Really don't know where these people stayed but they definitely did not have room #9. First off the bathroom is so tiny. I had better bathrooms on my ship in the Navy. I'm 5'2" and if I stretch my arms out I could touch both walls in the whole bathroom. The shower head actually hurt when it sprayed. The shower head wasn't high enough for me to get under it. Couldn't even turn around w/o touch the walls. I wouldn't go into the shower w/o shower shoes either. Also a sign above the sink that reads hot water is coming please be patient. The sink got plugged by pouring a beer down it after brushing my teeth. The bedding was aged but clean. No smoking in rooms yet our blanket had a cigarette hole. Bed had to be 20 years old. Pillows were horrible no flat. Room was so tiny. I put a can in the fridge and it had an old musty taste on it 2 hours later. No phones in the room. Locked ourselves out of our room. No one at the front desk after 6 p.m. It was 8 p.m. Called the # on the front door. (Cell phones service wasn't good this weekend) my neighbor guest were very kind & let me use their cells. You have to leave a message on the # for emergencies. Wait 15 minutes no one came. Went back to town where cell phone service was better called again. This time a lady answers says she left the door unlocked for use, but not to worry they have cameras everywhere no one will mess w/ our stuff. Ok because other guest are always honest. Husband had reserved for 2 night so we woke up & told the front desk gentleman we wanted to leave. Was advised no refund would be given because we booked on booking.com & we'd have to get a refund from them because we paid through them. No, we paid cash when we checked in. We didn't pay booking.com we paid the hotel (if you can call it that). $20 more we could have been in the Tombstone Grand Hotel (stayed there before and a great clean place)for $20 more & they have a continental breakfast. Forget being so close to town. I don't believe John Wayne or Marina O'Hara stayed here, if they did the past owners must of kept the cleaner and updated. read more

Last weekend was my second time staying in the Billy Clanton room. I stayed by myself last Nov and the room was the perfect size! It's by no means a grand scale hotel room but I was in Tombstone to see the city, not spend my time in my room, so who needs a lot of space? When planning the trip I had last weekend, I requested the Billy Clanton room for 2 nights but it was only available for the first night of my stay. That was ok because I seriously wanted to stay in that room again! The open windows on the door and across the room create the perfect cross breeze, just turn the fan on and relax. No AC was needed! We then had the Settlers room for the second night and it was HUGE! Far more space than I needed but that is not a complaint. There was room to dance after we walked back to the hotel from the bars on Allen St! The prices are perfect for the room sizes, the amenities provided, and the fact that it's a 2 block trek from Allen St! You could pay the same for a bigger room miles away but Tombstone doesn't exactly offer Ubers. Also, the man working the front office was incredibly kind and very flexible with the fact that we had to switch rooms on Saturday morning. I'm glad I didn't have to keep everything in my car for a few hours until the next check in. I will be staying at this hotel for EVERY visit to Tombstone for the rest of forever. read more

I'll have to come in and update this review with more information later, but the Sagebrush Inn is as good as it gets here in Tombstone. No, it's not all posh and spa-like, but that's not my thing. The hotel is just lovely and the rooms are clean and comfortable. We settled into the Settler's room (Sue, the owner, gave us a free upgrade because she had a last minute cancellation) and it's so homey. I just want to move in here forever! I'm writing from the couch and appreciating the fine americana decor. The pool is clean and sparkling. She serves coffee and donuts (nothing fancy, but there are better places in town to eat). *Everything* is walking distance from here. read more

Well first impression was that it was fine. Bed was clean with newer looking sheets. The rooms are small but not to small. Does have a fridge and dirty coffee pot but no microwave. Floor is tiled with stains on it from dirty water, it looks like they just hose it off by the water marks on the furniture. So at 11:00 pm we get a knock on the door, "Tombstone Marshall, we need you to open the door ". They are looking for someone named Steve. They are looking in all the rooms because they can't get one of the staff to tell them what room he is in. Then go to use the shower and find dried blood on the curtain and wall by the sink. We stayed at Sagebrush Inn for 2 nights in May 2017. We had the Maureen O'Hara Suite. Exceptionally clean! Free WIFI and does have a tv. Bathroom was small but clean and well stocked with towels and toiletries. It's a short walk to the downtown streets of Toombstone. The management is very friendly. If you are looking for restaurants, try Sierra Vista which is about 30 minutes away. They have everything. Food establishments in Toombstone are local owned and very expensive. read more
