The sausage roll was your standard fare. But the soup was excellent, tomato and basil. And the slice of brown bread that came with it was also excellent. None of this sweet brown bread that a lot of places seem to be serving up with soup these days. We got a table outside where there was plenty of other cyclist parked up for lunch too. They know their market here, as there are a few bike racks provided. With our bellies full and are hearts warmed, we cycled away happy.

The meat is from their animals and the bread and treats are baked in the cafe. I love how it has an old country house feel to it and the teacups and teapots are a random collection that look so pretty. My favourite thing from the menu was the Gammon sandwich. I no longer eat meat and this sandwich makes me struggle every time I see it on the menu. Oh the temptation.

It is located in front of Kilmainham Gaol, so it is a good place to stop after visiting the infamous jail. Friendly barista took my order and a few moments later, my order was called out. I spent an hour at Insomnia this morning sitting in the corner with my laptop. Yes, their free wifi worked well with my flat white and chocolate croissant. The coffee was very good and the croissant was also very good. The space is comfortable with a variety of seating options.
