When I saw the sign that their wines were available "on tap" for tasting I was intrigued because I had never heard of such a thing before. We were warmly greeted upon entering and told about their tasting process. I was surprised to learn that in Ohio apparently it is illegal to give free wine samples so they have to charge. Here it is 50 cents per sample and they also had a "package" that offered tastings with a cute mini wine glass. We opted for the second because we thought we might drink wine when we got back to our hotel since everything in the area closes so early. I tried two of their dry reds, some sweet, a fruit wine and their wine slushie. We were told a little bit about each wine when they were brought over. It was interesting to see them being poured out of the tap instead of going to a wine fridge. I really enjoyed all that I sampled. Aside from the sampling bar, the space has some tables for those that choose go buy a glass, bottle or slushie and enjoy it on sight. I really enjoyed our experience here and would definitely come back next time I'm in the area.

While visiting this area of Ohio, I stopped in and had such a wonderful experience. I had the tasting to start and loved the Chardonnay and White Sangria. Very nice and knowledgeable staff there as well. I can't wait to go back:)

Tastings are ¢25 each -- but I'm not a fan of having to taste them right at the counter and one after the other in the same in-rinsed cup. It would've been nicer if I could've picked the ones I wanted and just sat down/stood at a table to try them instead of standing at the counter. I added the menu (with my own scorings/notes written there)

This place was nice. The staff was very friendly. The wines were pretty decent here. I had a few red drys on hand. I enjoyed one of the dry reds and the dry whites were good. You received a wine glass for 3.99 for wine tasting.

Located a short distance from Troyer's Amish Tours,…read morenestled among the rolling hills of Ohio's Amish countryside, Der Marktplaz, is home of Breitenbach Wine Cellars. Breitenbach produces an array of extensive award-winning grape, fresh fruit, and berry wines, and what they are most known for, Dandelion wine. They produce 40 varieties of grape and fruit wines resulting in about 150,000 gallons. WOOOOW! That's a lot of wine, but hey someone must make it for us wine lovers. What I love is that they grow their own grapes and make their wine on site. What really caught my attention was the purple "Winemakers Barn". It was so cute! While I did not go inside, the outside was enough to make me say how cool. I am not sure about you but I love a good snack like cheese or a charcuterie board while drinking wine. When you walk in, there is a cheese section along with all the wine to purchase. After this is the sampling area! They have plenty of flavors to choose from and man did I indulge. They also have a great tasting offer. You can sample 4 wines for $1.00. I ended up sampling 12 wines. I am a sweet wine drinker so I did not try any of the dry wines. I also like fruit wines and they have 15 flavors to choose from. I grabbed a cheese and cracker plate and enjoyed my wine tasting. I enjoyed the hospitality Breitenbach shared and enjoyed the wine they offer. They are doing some amazing wine making! Also, make sure to try the Dandelion wine. It is unique! By the time wine tasting ended, I left with 5 bottles of wine and 2 candles. What can I say, I am a girl who loves her wine and candles! I highly encourage experiencing Amish country and then relaxing at Breitenbach Winery!

We walked in and entered the room with all of the bottles for sale. I asked where they do tastings and the staff told us that is in the next room over. When we went in, I asked what we needed to do in order to taste. (there are large signs at the "bar" area that they do not do tastings at the bar). We were greeted with a "go over to one of the tables" but kind of with an attitude like we should have known better to just go over to a table instead of asking a question. Once we did visit a table, there is a list of wines on a paper and pens. You can taste as many as you want, but can only sample four at a time. Samples are 50 cents each. I enjoyed some of the dryer reds, but wasn't a fan of certain specialty ones (the dandelion one really intrigued me but both my husband and I disliked it). The person doing the sampling the day we were there didn't seem to like the fact that I was asking questions about the wine and the winery. There was a definite attitude. Maybe it is because we weren't regulars or seemed like we wouldn't buy or something. But it was definitely off putting. The staff in the front room were definitely much friendlier and accommodating. Overall, a fun stop, but not one I'd rush back to next time I'm in the area.

Arrived and they have lots of parking outside. Inside the place has two levels. We didn't adventure to the top but remained on the first floor. They have a wonderful 17 year old dog that will come up and sit by you. She is very friendly. We tried some wine. They're limited on dry wines. They had several dry wines, maybe more than I assumed that they would have. I did like the dry wine made in a bourbon barrel. It had a wonderful taste. I did sample some of the sweeter wines. The Peanut and Butter wine was sensational. The woman that helped wait on us said guys come in here and say I drink dry wines. They all walk out with the "thingamajigga" peanut butter and jelly wine. I fell into the same trap. That great. We enjoyed two glasses of wine and had some small bites. This is a cute location. They have amazing wood work inside the place. The interesting thing is that we were at Terra Cotta Vineyard and winery earlier that day. The owner said the owner of this winery was a wood worker. He had did amazing work for them. It shows with his winery. Highly recommend visiting this place. How could I forget the nachos were the best we've had anywhere.. hands down amazing..

Gotta say, the website was much more impressive than the actual place. This wasn't too far of a drive from Dresden Inn but coming back, we got turned around because of the lack of lights, signage and skinny roads. They have plenty of parking and the string of lights outside was cute. I asked the waitress TWO times whether the sweet potato fries for the sandwich entree was extra and she confirmed TWICE that it was not an extra cost. Welp, upon paying, guess what? It was $4 extra! Just look at my picture to see that like 12 skinny AF fries are NOT worth the extra charge! Their house chips were great. I ordered the brie & jam sandwich and it was filling and delicious. I also ordered a crispy chicken salad and was pretty disappointed at the quality. I abhor cheese shavings on salad (they don't belong on salads!) and there was just mounds of very processed looking cheese. There was not enough chicken pieces for the price, too many croutons, no onion or enough tomato; just cheap lettuce. They don't serve regular glasses of water here. It was all crushed ice! We suspected they were just pre-wine slushies! This was really odd. There's not real wait service but since we sat upstairs, people needed to bring stuff up so I did tip a usual amount. I wanted to experience more of a country, made from scratch type of setting so was not too happy with the very Chilis/Applebee quality and presentation of their food.

They have a large selection of house wines as well as other brands. The server was kind but didn't seem very knowledgeable about the wine. All the dishes are enormous and meant to be shared. We shared the goat cheese with blackberry preserves and a Genoa flatbread and even with the three of us, we had a lot to take home with us. The duo and the flatbread were both incredible. The flatbread is actually two whole flatbreads and the dip was the size of a dinner plate. They were kind to get us an extra loaf of bread to go with the dip because we ran out. Their kitchen closed at 8 even though they were open until 9. That was about annoying because we considered ordering an additional dish but worked out fine since the dishes were so large.
