Menu October 8, 2019. Scholar Red is so good! Tastes just like grape juice!

Love this place! I've been here several times with my aunt who lives in the area. Such a cute little place, and Jamie the girl behind the bar is so sweet, friendly, helpful, knowledgeable and engaging. The Scholar Red wine is so good - tastes just like grape juice

This was our 9th and final stop for the day on wineries. This place has all of their wines named after stuff with school. Pep Rally, Prom Night ( were both red wines ). The lady that helped us out a lot. She was friendly and had great recommendations. The winery has a small vineyard nearby where they use the grapes for jam for the family. They get their juices from outside locations. I recommend stopping here. It's small and quaint with really good wine.

Enjoying a picture of sangria along with the bacon ranch chicken pizza. There crust is sooo good. All local used ingredients. Getting ready to listen to Kodachrome babies play.

Decent Ohio style wines. Cute setting! Daytime on a Friday and you get very attentive service!

I have mixed feelings about our experience here. We had…read morenever been, just drove past on our way somewhere else and decided that it would be a fun place to try. We walked in and entered the room with all of the bottles for sale. I asked where they do tastings and the staff told us that is in the next room over. When we went in, I asked what we needed to do in order to taste. (there are large signs at the "bar" area that they do not do tastings at the bar). We were greeted with a "go over to one of the tables" but kind of with an attitude like we should have known better to just go over to a table instead of asking a question. Once we did visit a table, there is a list of wines on a paper and pens. You can taste as many as you want, but can only sample four at a time. Samples are 50 cents each. I enjoyed some of the dryer reds, but wasn't a fan of certain specialty ones (the dandelion one really intrigued me but both my husband and I disliked it). The person doing the sampling the day we were there didn't seem to like the fact that I was asking questions about the wine and the winery. There was a definite attitude. Maybe it is because we weren't regulars or seemed like we wouldn't buy or something. But it was definitely off putting. The staff in the front room were definitely much friendlier and accommodating. Overall, a fun stop, but not one I'd rush back to next time I'm in the area.

Good wine, okay... service! We went in on a Saturday in February for a wine tasting, some wine, and…read morepizza. The set up of the building is a little confusing. They have a room for "take out/ food" and then a room for tastings, and more rooms with just tables. Then an outside barn area, they had live music out there, and outside bathrooms. The wine was good. I sampled 4 dry red wines and my husband sampled some of the semi- sweet wines. We then got a glass/ bottle and ordered pizza then went to the barn. We waited almost an entire hour for a subpar small pizza priced at $14 at 6:30ish. The wine lady said they would be open until 7 for wines as we went up to buy a couple bottle before we left the lights were off and doors were unlocked but no one inside so wasn't able to buy a bottle. More thoughts needs to go into The barn space, a nice rustic "venue" but the thought into running a smooth winery just wasn't there that night.

Coming back for a second visit over Memorial Day weekend honestly confirmed everything I thought…read morethe first time around. What started in January as a random stop traveling back from Florida has quickly turned into one of those places that feels impossible to pass up when we are anywhere nearby. This place was busy all afternoon, and honestly, I think that says everything about what Killing Tree has built out there. Great wine, great food, live music, a beautiful property, and a crowd that genuinely seemed happy to be there. It feels less like a winery and more like a community gathering spot. Shannon took care of us this visit and was fantastic from beginning to end. The fact that she remembered me from months ago completely caught me off guard and immediately made us feel welcomed back. That kind of personal touch matters and you can tell the staff truly cares about the experience people are having. The pizza was outstanding, the BLT with turkey added on was piled high, and somehow that bottle of Gosh Dang disappeared way too fast sitting out there in the sunshine. There is just something special about this place. Relaxed, welcoming, beautiful, and incredibly easy to lose track of time at. Already looking forward to trip number three.

BF and I were trying to do everything Amish and local for our Valentine's weekend in Dresden, OH…read moreand we picked this place based on their really nice website. Gotta say, the website was much more impressive than the actual place. This wasn't too far of a drive from Dresden Inn but coming back, we got turned around because of the lack of lights, signage and skinny roads. They have plenty of parking and the string of lights outside was cute. I asked the waitress TWO times whether the sweet potato fries for the sandwich entree was extra and she confirmed TWICE that it was not an extra cost. Welp, upon paying, guess what? It was $4 extra! Just look at my picture to see that like 12 skinny AF fries are NOT worth the extra charge! Their house chips were great. I ordered the brie & jam sandwich and it was filling and delicious. I also ordered a crispy chicken salad and was pretty disappointed at the quality. I abhor cheese shavings on salad (they don't belong on salads!) and there was just mounds of very processed looking cheese. There was not enough chicken pieces for the price, too many croutons, no onion or enough tomato; just cheap lettuce. They don't serve regular glasses of water here. It was all crushed ice! We suspected they were just pre-wine slushies! This was really odd. There's not real wait service but since we sat upstairs, people needed to bring stuff up so I did tip a usual amount. I wanted to experience more of a country, made from scratch type of setting so was not too happy with the very Chilis/Applebee quality and presentation of their food.
