All of a sudden, billing practices were changed without any notice, transparency went down the hole, and correspondence with anyone other than the therapist did not exist. I was made to feel like I was obligated to attend sessions I attempted to cancel and charged fees pretty randomly. In fact, I'd say the office went as far as to exacerbate some of my issues by being clearly unsympathetic and focused primarily on making a dollar. My therapist was new to the practice, and quite understanding, but couldn't avoid the bureaucracy of the administration. Seemed like there wasn't much support from above. When it was time for me to end my relationship with Leeward, no attempt to communicate was made until I prompted confirmation.

I experienced the most rude and disturbing behavior by one of their staff over the telephone that I…read morehave finally decided to find another doctor! It had happened before over the phone that one of the women receptionists spoke rudely and treated me like dirt over the phone. This happened when they were still located at their old address. However what occurred on May 21st was totally outrageous that I don't want to goe back them office after the experience. Here's what happened. Another doctor's office told me that they needed a "referral" from my doctor at Needham Family Practice. So I called them and a woman answered the phone. Maybe because she is basically anonymous she feels that she can verbally abuse callers I don't know, but after I explained what I was told by my other doctor's office staff, the woman abruptly interrupted and said, "First of all, who is this?" After I told her my name and info she stated, "Your last appointment was in July of 2014." As if this was some sort of problem. I had to explain that I had had to delay my followup appointment because of a death in the family. She cut me off again to say a referral wasn't needed. So, I told her how the other doctor's office had just called me and she again very rudely cut me off and ordered me not to yell at her! I was dumbfounded at this bizarre behavior from this receptionist, especially since I hadn't even raised my voice at all. Peeved I stated back to her "Wow, if you think that's yelling you've never heard me yell." She continued talking to me in an extremely rude and combative manner. So I just hung up, otherwise I would have yelled at her. I wrote my doctor Dr. McWha and told him that I didn't "want come back to your office after this experience," and that "I won't feel comfortable having to be confronted by this person in the future." I paid him the kindness of writing a letter explaining why I didn't want to use their services anymore and he just ignored my letter. He once wrote me a letter because I had to change an appointment, but I guess their staff is sacrosanct. In my opinion Dr. McWha wasn't a bad doctor nor Dr.Corcoran, however their preformances as doctors doesn't out weigh the negative treatment of the harridan I encountered. A previous doctor who worked there Dr. Finn, who has moved on, misdiagnosed an infection on my father's legs. He said it was "salt." It wasn't salts building up and oozing out of his legs it was a virulent infection which ended up killing him. So, yeah, there has to be a better place where the staff is nicer and the doctors are better than Needham Family Practice. Since the office moved it is not as close to the main hospital either.

However my wife and I have had a terrible experience with the doctor and their billing practice. The short of it is, the doctor moved locations and because the new location was much less convenient, we canceled our appointment. We spoke to them twice before the date of the appointment, and both times requested to cancel the appointment. Doctor's practice did not cancel the appointment and then charged us a no-show fee. We called to ask them to remove this bill as it was inaccurate. We called multiple times and left messages, but no one returned a call. Finally after our frustration was mounting, the doctor himself called. Instead of listening to us, it was clear from the beginning that the doctor had it in mind to "tell us off." The call was a formality merely. He asked if the call was being recorded, and when I told him no - he proceeded to tell us how his staff is never wrong and that it's our problem. He was curt and condescending in his tone - and he clearly did not really care. When I mentioned that we canceled because their practice had moved locations, he did not seem to care. As long as he got his money, even for billing us wrongly, it did not matter to him. He proceeded to hang up on me as well. He said his piece, he told me off, and he had no further need of wasting his precious billable time on me anymore. I would like to call out the front desk staff is very kind and patient. Excellent bedside manners, so to speak. However the doctor does not embody these traits as well as his staff. He could learn from his staff. It's unfortunate that our medical system places the doctor's financial growth at the opposite end of patient well being. If you want a doctor that cares for you and bills you for services actually rendered, this is not your doctor. There are many more in and around Needham and Wellesley that I can recommend.

Not only is Dr. Davies the finest chiropractor I have ever been treated by (and I have been in the care of one chiropractor or another since 1989, when an on the job injury left me partially paralyzed, until a chiropractor in NY state corrected the misalignment and restored the use of my legs), but his colleagues and support staff are exceptional and incredibly organized in every imaginable way! So much so, in fact, that I've come to think of several of them (and Dr. Davies, himself) more as trusted friends than just healthcare service providers. I cannot recommend him or them highly enough! P. S.: In another commentator's review, there were some pretty harsh words about this office's pricing, and as a fellow healthcare practitioner, I'd like to address these, if I may... If someone walks into an office, receives quality care and pays by cash or check before they leave, that's ideal. So if the fee is $100, the office has $100 it can count on to pay its bills. If the patient pays that $100 with their debit or credit card, the office receives somewhere between $91.40-95 for their efforts; the rest comes out in bank fees. If the office has to bill the person for their care, they'll only receive $80.45 out of that $100, after a 30-90 day waiting period, because of the percentages paid to the billing service (15%) and merchant service (credit card processor @ 5% average). And if the patient provides a health insurance card and a tiny little $10-20 co-pay, the office will have to invest at least an additional hour of paperwork and phone calls into the equation, and may have to wait as long as 3-6 months before they're paid somewhere in the vicinity of $42.37, after which, at any point in the next year, the insurer may randomly decide that the treatment wasn't _really_ as necessary as it seemed, at which point, they'll automatically withdraw those funds from the office's bank account! Meanwhile, the office's rent or mortgage, utilities, equipment, accident, property and casualty and workers compensation insurance bills, supplies, the employees' salaries, benefits, sick days and various insurance (health, life, etc.) packages all must be paid on time, no matter how much of those originally billed dollars actually make it in the door! As such, when caring healthcare professionals have different billing rates for what appears to be the same thing, it might help to ask yourself this one question: "Would I charge the same amount to pick up and carry a 50 lb. bag of sand from my front door to the car as I would to carry it ten city blocks?" If the answer is no, then consider how much effort folks like Drs. Barbati, Davies, and Brown and their employees (and all of the other healthcare professionals you meet) are actually investing into your wellbeing, before you knock them. From where I stand, they're a lot like swans gliding across a pond in a stiff crosswind: you only see them calmly gliding across the surface, but you have no idea how hard those little feet are paddling away, underneath!

All I wanted was for them to know they needed to educate their front staff better as not to inconvenience other patients like me. This office manage went crazy yelling, waving her hands, talking over me in a very sarcastic tone saying that she didn't feel safe with me in the building. She wanted me to leave and not talk to the doc on duty. She said if I didn't leave she was going to call the police. Then finally after she ranted at the doc her side he came out but she wouldn't let me talk to him privately. She stood in the doorway and wouldn't allow me to close the door. She interrupted me and the doc repeatedly with threats and her opinions of things that had nothing to do with the event of the day. I left being told by the fill-in doc that he would have the owner call me but NEVER DID. With attitudes and disrespect to their patients no wonder why they had to buy patients off by giving DD cards for good yelps.....hence the many good yelps

I am on my second counselor. The first one helped me a great deal. Becket taught me a great deal about integrating past lessons by creating a ritual to commemorate my healing from cancer. Beckett was a wonderful counselor who protected me from myself. Kiley is helping me learn many techniques to ground myself, and has always taken excellent care of my needs. Whenever I reported a ln issue to her she took care of it immediately! I do so appreciate the attention. I feel somehow safe, that even though I can't yet see a possible way out of my current mental condition I have some trust that my work with Kiley will bring me some measure of clarity about what has been going on with me and what I need to do to become more stable.
