Great service, bartender was super nice & good at making our drinks. Price was right, probably the cheapest drinks you can get in Ouray. Pool table was nice too, only a $1 to play. Highly recommend this bar. read more

Don't go here. The bartender and owner don't want to be in a service industry. Never been to a place this bad. They are very rude and don't want to be there. The place was empty and still made a point to do everything possible to make it unbelievably bad. They act like you're an intruder in their personal home. They will go out of business. read more

Everything from the owners to the Brunswick back bar are honest , straight up and fun. Great place. Great history

Quick service, less busy, and delicious beer. We stopped here for a beverage on a Sunday evening and we enjoyed a quick beverage and the atmosphere. read more

Dishonest and rude!!!!!! Horrible customer service tried to charge xtra for the second beer !!! Told us to FUCK OFF after we brought the previous price to him up to him! read more

Very rude and unprofessional behavior by female bartender and male GM/Owner. It's the only place I have not left a tip in 20 years.

This place is dog shit. The owner and bar tender showed no respect to the patrons and were extremely rude. I wouldn't suggest anybody spend their money here. read more

I accidentally left my wallet there- they responded to my Facebook message about it, and met me there on a day they were closed just to give it to me! Good people!! read more

This place would be great if the bartender wasn't so rude and arrogant. Super light pours with a inhospitable vibe

Owner very unprofessional and disrespectful to patrons. For a dive bar, very expensive drinks.

Do NOT come here if you are from out of town!! Bartender and local regulars are SO RUDE!!!!!! We stopped in (from Denver) and were met with complete hostility. I've had such great experiences with locals being so kind here.... Definitely not at this bar, though. I would give this bar negative stars if I could. read more

Brad is great! Good lil dive bar in downtown Ouray. Cold beer and great drinks. Love the vibe! read more

Cameron is the best in the business. Great dive bar atmosphere tucked into the heart of Ouray.

We were recommended this bar by the Brewery next store when they closed at 9. It's cash only, but they have an ATM in the hallway you can use (for a $3.50 ATM few of course). They have one pool table, a set of darts and if I recall a Pac-Man video game. The bar smells very smokey when you come in, no one was smoking while we were there but I'm assuming it is a smoking bar. Bartender was semi friendly. I've definitely met nicer people. When our drinks were empty we had to ask for another, she didn't seem to care that we were sitting with empty glasses. They had a "fuck Yelp" sticker on the glass behind the bar. I was very tempted to ask for the WiFi so I could check in on yelp. Hah! All in all it's one of the only two places open late in the amazing town of Ouray, so you may find yourself coming here because it's the only place open. read more

Owner is horrible and rude the bar is dirty and not worth your time spend your money literally anywhere else

Don't bother going in as they only like locals. Crappy place with crappy over-priced, under-poured drinks and especially rude and crappy service. Police don't care. Too bad can't give it zero stars. read more

The bartender physically put his hands on my 26 year old niece. We called the police but of course since he's a local and everyone knows each other, I guess that behavior is ok. We were respectful and wanting to celebrate my nephew's wedding. Completely unacceptable place and behavior. read more

Do they charge $8 per Budweiser? I have no idea but that would be a lot. They didn't give me an itemized receipt, but that's what it cost me. Still, it was a lot of fun at karaoke tonight and I'd have paid it. 3 stars. read more

I love this place. I love karaoke and I love drinkin with my honey. No better place to do it than a grungy bar in the mountains. We love it. Slayyyyyyy! read more

Nothing terribly special here but a very casual upscale dive bar to hang late at night....since there is really nothing else open. Pool tables in the back. Clean and dimly kit as expected. Drinks were priced right. I'd go back. read more

My husband and I went here last night (8pm on a Sunday) because most other things were closed up by then. The bartender (I'm assuming owner as well) was very friendly. We played a few games of pool and shuffle board. Not sure why there are so many negative reviews, this place was a really chill vibe. read more

I have been coming to Ouray for many many years and this was the first timed we stoped in and honestly it was extremely disappointing. FIRST the bartender was absolutely rude to one of my friends for no reason. SECOND he then said "this is how a Coloradan does it" which was hilarious to me because my family homesteaded in Colorado over 200 years ago and we never left. THEN found out he moved to Colorado 10 years ago (). FINALLY all three of my long neck beers that I had were warm and not even close to cold, but booze is booze right? 10/10 would never come here again. People who performed karaoke though 10/10 read more

We kicked off our vacation with a stop to this small local saloon. There was live music and my fiance is a sucker for live music so we stopped in after dinner. IT was fun and divey, there was some games and we enjoyed a game of air hockey. The drinks were good and affordable. read more

How to rate this place has a lot to do with what you're looking for I guess. It's pretty much dead in the winter. Old school tavern, catering to locals rather than tourists, which I can appreciate. It's also apparently grandfathered in as one of only around 20 bars in Colorado that you can still smoke in. That said, it's smokey and reeks like an ashtray. And since I don't smoke I don't see that as a plus. If you smoke you'll probably like the opportunity to chainsmoke indoors just like old times. Taps: Coors or Coors Light. That's it. If you drink watery American lagers you might like the place. I like real beer, so this wasn't a plus. In the end the place wasn't for me. But it might be for you. read more

A true bar. Cold beers, good cocktails, pool table, games on TV and live music on certain days.

Come one, come all to the best dive bar of the (19th) century!!!! This is a jewel of an 1876-era old-time saloon. Red carpet really goes with my house wine. Rough and dusty characters. If it weren't five hours from my home i would be here all the time. read more

We went to this bar basically to play pool. It is the only place in town (that I know of) with a pool table. It was a good table too - the felt is not worn too badly, the cues are okay, etc. It is a Valley table in case anyone is interested in size (size does matter you know) - LOL! The drinks were good - I had margaritas and my man had beer one night and Jameson the next. Hard to mess up any of those drinks. The first night we had a lovely bartender who was on the work + travel program. She was nice and made good drinks. The other night we had the owner who is a bit standoffish and not that friendly. I would think if you own a bar you might try to be more friendly but who knows? Maybe you get sick of drunk people. It's very dark and dank in this particular bar but some folks like that. The atmosphere wasn't very joyful - but again if you want a quiet drink in a dark location this is your place! Maybe it's a more happy place in the middle of summer??? I will likely be back to practice pool when I am in town again but honestly for a drink I'd rather hit one of the breweries, The Outlaw, O'Brien's or some of the other places before coming back to this one. The only reason I would come back here is if I want to practice pool. read more

We came to Ouray for the first time and found every establishment we went to over and above in terms of service and quality - EXCEPT the Silver Eagle Saloon. Words cannot express how bad the service and the atmosphere is in this place. Please check my other reviews for places in Ouray - they are all glowing and reflect the enthusiasm that the town has for it's visitors. Not the Silver Eagle. The bartender was a bland p.o.s. who could care less that we were the only paying customers in the bar. The owners were at a table slopping down some takeout food and had the personalities of 3 day old fish when we asked if there was food service at their establishment. I appreciate a good bartender but this jerkoff light-poured and over-charged our drinks. He then threw our change (about 5 dollars) on the bar. Since I drink faster than my wife, I finished my drink first. He asked if I was done and scooped away my glass of ice AND the change that was sitting on the bar. Whoa ! I had no intention of tipping this imbecile so that was mighty presumptuous of him to think that was his money but my wife and I were speechless. We sat for the next 10 minutes while she finished her drink and no acknowledgement from either the bartender or the owners even though we were the only people in the place. When we left and walked past all of them yakking it up, there was no "thank you", "have a good day" or anything. Next time I go back in, it will be to use the restroom and unload a roll of toilet paper and a fistful of paper towels down the toilet to clog it up. Steer clear of the Silver Eagle Saloon in Ouray when you are there. read more

Here's the straight up. If you're looking for a yuppy place with fancy craft beers or looking for horribly over-priced mediocre food or a family establishment, this ain't your place. However, if you're looking for a biker'ish bar that, get this, allows smoking, and you feel like hanging out with what I'm gathering are unpretentious people and shooting a game of pool, then this is your place. I hate cigarette smoking as much as I hate pretentious places, so this was a toss up for me, but if you don't want to be around smoking, come early. We were the first patrons of the early afternoon and enjoyed a smoke-free environment since we were the only customers. We also enjoyed shooting the B.S. with the owner then treated ourselves to a game of pool. Old school, dive tavern with early 70's decor--and thank goodness for that. read more

Being that we were in a town with a population of about 1000, there were no bars open super late, so this was the only place to go in the town late at night. The bar only takes cash which was kind of a bummer and the prices weren't as reasonable as you would expect them to be. Music on the jukebox could be changed for $1 per song, but nowhere to really dance except in open spots you found surrounding tables. Actually tried moving a table and bartender was upset and made us move it back. Don't think they're used to city folks coming in and partying it up ;) I would say the biggest downfall is that it was SUPER smokey inside. I smoke when I am drinking, but I couldn't even light up a cigarette in there because I was already overwhelmed with the smoke! Overall had a good time because WE made it a good time and met some really nice people...but if I had the chance to go somewhere else, I would have. read more

The locals were friendly, nice people. Hence the 2 stars. This Old times Bar with old time era decor, allows smoking, it's smokey and I am not kidding when I say smokey, I mean my eyes were burning with cigarette smoke in the establishment. I don't smoke but my friends did and it wasn't much fun for them either. Didn't eat there, but the drinks were not cheap and only except to pay cash at the bar. {{We are not crazy party animals but it was a Saturday night and there was nowhere to go dance. Music was played by the Jukebox in the corner and volume was adjusted by the bartender according to the songs he liked. If he found them offensive (I Like Big Butts) the volume was lowered... ($1/song). No Dance floor, just play your song on the Jukebox and dance by it. I haven't rated the place by the above comments as this is not a dance club. }} read more

We showed up 15 minutes before it opened, front doors were open, so we came in out of the cold. The employee came over and was rude and condescending. Told us the locked door means it's closed. He was an ass, COVID or not, this is not the way to treat customers. read more

The silver eagle was bought about a year and a half ago and the new owners have completely turned it around. They love each and every one of their customers. They provide live music through the entire summer. They DO take both cash and cards. They have a pool table and are continuing to upgrade the bar and give customers lots to do. The locals are wonderful and respectful. Since the bar is under new ownership there is no smoking inside and it's almost impossible to tell it was a smoking bar. I drive 45 minutes almost every weekend to come to the Silver Eagle and will recommend anyone to at least check it out. read more

Great saloon for solid work a day Americans looking for a drink and some new friends. Trish and Brad are awesome. Wouldn't recommend it for the pretentious looking for a craft beer, but for the rest of us, a nice stop! Make sure and check out the beautiful mahogany bar. read more

If you want a dirty place that smells like an ashtray with a asshat for a bar tender this is your place. I love me a good dive bar but this one doesn't dive it sinks and stinks. There use to be a cute short hair girl behind the bar, pray you get her. Otherwise it's a crusty old man that grunts at you if ask for anything other than warm over priced shit beer. A smoke out side rule and a half way decent alcohol selection would make this place acceptable by small town standards. Unfortuently it's the only bar open in this one horse town past 8. My suggestion find a parking lot with some friends, get some beer and you'll have a better time. Your lungs and eyes will love you for it. read more
