It was very noisy (we forgot that it was a Sunday afternoon and many people like to go to brunch). I wanted a Turkey Burger, which I have ordered here at this location in the past and to my dismay it was no longer on the menu. Please bring them back. I settled for an open faced beef burger and it was prepared exactly as I ordered. In the future I may have to stick to my regular location in the Fair Oaks or Reston area. Great customer service and level of attention. The dish that I tried could use a bit more flavor. I decided to try out Silver Diner for a late breakfast/lunch. I tried the flat iron steak and eggs which also came with a side of home fries and a biscuit which I declined as I'm not a huge bread person. I had my steak cooked medium which my preferred level and it came out exactly how I ordered. The home fries and eggs were also cooked well. My only gripe is that the steak had no flavor despite looking pretty well seasoned. I would return here to try a couple more dishes but most likely would not try the flat iron steak again. read more

We came through after seeing The Nutcracker in DC. Place was steady, but not overly busy. There was my husband and I on one check, and my son and his wife on another. We all ordered water, but I also got a hot tea. Waiter didn't bring one drink out until he brought our food. My husband and I split The Country Scrambler, requested sugar free syrup and a side of fries. My son ordered the Smokehouse burger with fries, which was super big, and messy (he enjoyed his burger). My daughter in law ordered a bagel with no cream cheese, just butter. He brought out The Country scrambler with regular syrup. We had to ask again. My daughter in was given no butter, and asked a second time for butter. He said that he gave her butter. She said, "This is cream cheese. I'd like butter." He brought her one little square of butter; not even enough to butter her bagel. As we started to dig in, we realized that he didn't bring butter for our pancakes, nor did he bring napkins to the table. Had to ask for a sugar-free syrup twice. Pancakes were stone cold. No refills offered. Completely ignored the entire visit. Anytime we needed something, we had to wave him down. He was too busy visiting with his coworkers. Silver Diner hits the spot! This small chain diner establishment is yummy, clean, fast, happy and colorful. All the points that are needed to score a high rank. We came one afternoon, were seated without much delay and got a great hot breakfast style meal, complete with French toast, pancakes, hot syrup, bacon, home fries, salsa, omelette, mustard, coffee and eggs. Service is fast, polite, social-distanced and the menu is clearly printed. To either side of us were a family of 6 and a couple of 2 - both eating happy. I found the food to be solidly cooked, dashed with flavor and sweet nutrients. Coffee was strong. Ice water cold and tables were clean. I go out to eat fairly frequently and am exposed to many different servers and many kinds of restaurants. Had I been at Morton's, Komi, The Capital Grille, or Joe's Seafood, I would have considered this exceptional service. Not to diminish the Silver Diner - it's a great restaurant in its own category. But wow, DJ was phenomenal. Here's why: * He asked me to describe my friend. When she arrived, he saw her walk in the door and immediately escorted her straight to our booth. * he was highly efficient and on top of things, using his own observation and intuition to answer most of our questions without us having to ask. * I tend to drink a lot and my cup never got to the bottom without a refill on the table. * DJ just seemed warm and genuine - the kind of person that makes you feel comfortable and at home. I have been coming to this location regularly for going on 8 years now and is one of our staples. It is the most consistent, well managed and cleanest Silver Diner I've been to so far in the area. We have become regulars on Saturday or Sunday mornings and enjoy catching up with the same waiters each time. DJ and Teresa who usually manage the counters are fantastic, and they somehow remember our orders every time. They really do make it a pleasant morning for us. When I have had minor issues in the past, management has been quick to correct. The food is always top notch and they accommodate customizations well. We typically get breakfast items, but there are other dishes on the other menus that I have equally loved, like the fish and chips, the shrimp ancient grains salad, the pot pie and burgers. We stopped by on Saturday night after going to an Easter vigil service. We arrived around 10:30 pm and were seated right away, even with the restaurant being fairly full. Everything seemed clean. We ordered three different entrees and beverages. The food was disappointing. My first daughter's shrimp scampi was swimming in sauce and had an overwhelming amount of black pepper. We had to ask for the soup which was supposed to come with the scampi. My other daughter and I both had breakfast entrees with pancakes. The pancakes were cold and bland. My entree said it came with a side of strawberries, but they gave me a mixed fruit cup instead. We started with one server who took our order but then there were two other servers who brought out the food. I had to flag down the server to get the check. His was just okay. The bread was stale on my tuna melt, it wasn't tasty, and the fries were soggy. Although this wasn't a great experience, we decided to give them a second chance and ordered again. This time I got the chicken and waffle and he got pancakes. His pancakes, again, were just okay. My chicken was old, dry, and tasteless. The waffle was soggy. Silver diner is great! There's plenty of options. People will be sure to find something they like. The inside is clean and well taken care of. Our service was a little slow, but other than that, our waitress was very nice. I ordered the ribeye Philly cheesesteak. It was great. Lots of flavor. I got garlic spinach on the side, it was kind of acidic, not the best taste. My friend ordered the build your own burger and got a bison patty. We got the deluxe brownie dessert. Woodbridge constituents need to expect better for themselves. This location needs to be renovated badly. Its always packed but the two times I ate here I was disappointed. The pancakes are hard and desperately need syrup and the eggs had no flavor. Pancakes should be good with or without syrup. The kitchen has caked up dirt/greased on the wall where you can see. The music things on the counter look like the carry alot of germs. I will never go back. The staff is excellent but the really need to update this location. Ive eaten at the Alexandria location and the food was so good. This place was recommended by a friend for their many options so I figured I would give it a try. I have many food sensitivities including gluten, eggs, tomatoes, and chicken (just to name a few) so as you can imagine, breakfast is a little difficult. I called ahead and asked us they accepted reservations, to which I was told they did not but there was no wait. I get there 5 minutes later and there's a 25 min wait. Luckily it didn't take quite that long. The booths a bit flimsy. There was a kid behind us that kept moving and it literally pushed us into the table. Service was a little slow but adequate. Now for the good part.. the food was spectacular. The options they have that are allergy friendly was mine boggling. I ordered a caramel cold brew latte with oat milk and non dairy whipped cream. It was a little sweet but very good. For food, I got the country scramble but substituted the pancakes for gluten free French toast made with Just Eggs, which is a plant based egg alternative and of course substituted the eggs for that as well. It was basically a conglomeration of potatoes, Sausage, onions and peppers. When I say phenomenal, I'm telling you, this was worth every bit of it. Been going to this Silver Diner for years now but I haven't gotten around to reviewing until now. This Silver Diner has been very consistent food wise and service wise. I've never really had a bad meal here. The service is usually great minus a few times. Recently, I was looking for something with no meat to pick up so I ordered two Meatless Miso Burgers with fries via the app. Of course Silver Diner isn't a regular diner so you're not going to find diner prices but the food is high quality. It probably one of the more unique Beyond Meat burgers around. Loved the crunch of the watermelon radish and pickled ginger that went along with the burger. Fries were great as usual, crispy and a good amount as well. Definitely can't come here all the time, but if I feel like splurging a little, I'll definitely order because you mostly can't go wrong. read more

I really enjoyed the Silver Diner. This was my first time eating at this restaurant and the customer service was amazing. Our server was very polite and friendly. I ordered the chicken & waffles which was the server's recommendation when asked his favorite dish.
