I'd learned about this restaurant via a YouTube clip from the Financial Times (see link below). Since I'm someone who's very concerned about the state of our Earth, I loved the Zero-Waste concept and wanted to check it out immediately. And so - on a cold December night in 2022 - my husband and I ventured out to Hackney Wick (East London) and soon we entered the warm and spacious restaurant.
The staff at Silo is super-friendly and we chatted with our waiter for a while about the menu and the zero-waste concept about the restaurant. We picked a handful of dishes and then enjoyed the food and the atmosphere.
I have to say: we loved the flavor of the dishes but we were a bit disappointed with the size of the portions. Granted, we are a bit on the stingy side, so we didn't go for the tasting menu, but I would've hoped that the portions would still be a bit bigger.
All in all - love the concept! Kudos on making a difference in the world.
