Over the years, I'd been to hairdressers in the places I've lived and the good one's always seem to move on! When I moved back to Bedford I found Franco again, now with his own salon and when I was looking for offices for my new business, I choose the ones's across the seat from the salon! Having had cropped short hair for years, I had tried to grow it out but not being a girly girl I don't like spending too much time on my appearance but having Franco across the street meant I could go in every week and he would wash and style for me, whilst we had business chats. He didn't even normally work on Mondays but came in at 7.30am to wash and dry two customers' hair and I got to know the other lady well too! So apart from the level of customer service that Franco is passionate to instill in his large staff too, it's all in the cut. Something that Franco does means that my now long hair grows out and doesn't look ridiculous in between cuts. Seeing as my hairdresser is 84 miles away, I can't get there as regularly as like, particularly as there is no train line between Birmingham and Bedford, but I won't change. I even waited 6 months between cuts when I was in New York! Filippo Russo are also excellent colourists too and I have watched the staff grow from being Saturday staff to becoming these experts over the years. I've also seen his son grow to be a senior stylist now and every single staff member knows me and greets me by name, despite there sometimes being months in between my visits. It's a joy to know them all!

Having looked at all the good reviews about Nicholas Anthony I thought I would go…read more I had a cut, blow dry and colour. The colour was o.k. but the cut was dreadful, there was no shape to it was so ever. Andy is a lovely guy, but having been used to good hairdressers would not go again.

Having worked there (and being a continuing customer) i have had my hair cut by most of the stylists and i would highly reccomend them all. I have tried several different hairdressers over the years just for a change and i always end up going back because other salon's cannot offer the same results. If you care about your hair (and lets face it,it can make or break a good image) it is worth paying a little extra and maybe having to wait a little while. I also took my mother in law for a birthday treat to have her hair cut by Lina ans she was over the moon!!! (Lisa Martin)

Firstly she didn't listen to anything I was saying nor about the colour I wanted - I was not shown what colour she planned to use, and everything that I stipulated had been done before came down to Julia saying 'well I prefer this or that'. She seemed confident and appeared to know what she was talking about. However I was soon to discover this was not the case - apart from winding up with toffee coloured strips, some hair that looked grey, sections of roots and hair untouched other than by cut - I was bitterly disappointed. I also stipulated very clearly several times that I have my hair thinned to keep some semblance of shape as I don't use hair-dryers or tongs ever. Julia decided to cut layers regardless. While I was at the salon Julia complained of being double booked - was rushing and stressed and concerned for her car's MOT test - she is young and I felt sorry for her, I decided that although I was upset I could have the colour rectified and the four inches she had cut off as opposed to the one inch I asked for would grow back. My hair also flopped straight over my face obscuring my vision the instant I moved from the chair - I had asked for a zigzag parting slightly to the left side of my face and wound up with an almost centre parting - which when I asked her to rectify resulted in broken over processed hair standing static on top of my head and Julia not actually being able to accomplish it. I do NOT have difficult hair - her comment was oh well you can put that right when you wash it and do it yourself ! Except I believe that as a 'hairdresser' I shouldn't be fixing my hair up - I was having it done for a special occasion and Valentines weekend and I didn't have time to fix her mistakes. The MOST unfortunate thing was by the time I realised just how bad my hair actually was I had already booked my beautiful long blonde haired 19 year old daughter in and while I was driving to my destination unable to get hold of her and warn her - my daughter was sitting in the chair undergoing her worst hair experience ever. A simple light blonde colour with a brown section underneath at the back and a trim - that should be straightforward. My daughters hair looks like a PATCHWORK QUILT - the condition is ruined and my little girl is mortified. I have also NEVER seen such an uneven cut - my 11 year old son could cut straighter - I'm mortified that I sent her there. One bad day maybe - I even tipped her for the time she spent on my hair, two bad days - prima donna working for Dad's salon that hasn't got a clue. Next step trying to fix up the damage PROFESSIONALLY - I will be asking for refunds to help with the cost of NO STARS FOR RINALDI! if the site would allow.

This is my preferred choice of hairdresser from any in Bedford. The staff are so friendly and…read moreensure I get my haircut the way I want. I don't find the prices to be extortionate either - a cut, wash and blow dry costs me around the £27 mark. Note - they don't take any form of credit or debit cards but I believe they do accept cheques with a guarantee card, although it'd be best to check that! The staff are happy to spend a while going over what you want from your haircut and also give you tips to try at home which I found invaluable. The staff are also lovely to talk to and you never experience the awkward silence. The salon itself is very modern, they have space for 5 (I think!) peoples hair to be cut at once. The only downside to this hairdressers is that parking can be a little tricky but it's one small niggle for a great haircut!

The haircut itself took about less than 6 minutes! I asked for a new haircut but actually he just trimmed my hair and I still had split ends. I am afraid that Toni & Guy really is overpriced.
