SJ Made hosts large scale local craft fairs and pop up markets in the region , including summer…read moreevents and holiday events . It features over 300 local crafters , independent small business , illustrators , bakers , and artisans. It was held inside the Santa Clara convention center with free admission . The first 100 people would receive a cute designed tote bag . I love their T shirts , plushies , cute miniature features, fruits keychains , sushi and cute dolls . I bought a tote bag and a huge croissant plushie with face . We walked through the whole fair to visit all the artists and small business . That took a whole two hours . This was the third time I visited SJ Made . Would love to come again on the next event . There was a huge parking garage but it was impossible to find parking when we went at 2:30 pm . Last time we went at 12 pm then it was much easier . The event hours was 1 pm to 8 pm on August 8 ( Saturday) and 12 pm to 7 pm on ( Sunday )August 9 . The cute stuffs did sell out at the second da6 . Each artist displayed their business card and instagram. You can look them up for the next event or putting line when the merchandise you like was sold out . Review 670

San Jose Made was founded in 2011 and has since been helping arts and crafts small businesses grow…read moreand thrive. Now San Jose Made is like a brand per se (you can see their cute tote bags that they have been gifting al multiple events, like the first 100 to enter get one). Lillte by little I have been seeing their imprint in many craft fairs around the Bay Area. I have attended both the curated pop-up retail events and the massive ones (like today at the Santa Clara Convention Center). I have been also in some of the maker meet-ups. Overall, this is the type of organization I would go when (one day) I would want to participate also as artist (because I also paint and draw and do many other cute little artsy things:). They seem to be super organized and never encounter any issue, with the vendors, the venue or anything. I would suggest for the massive events to have more food related vendors and less jewelry and cards/illustrations as it seems pretty saturated and can be overwhelming for the customers. The pics I will post here are fromt he Santa Clara Convention Center Thanksgiving event.

This was one of our stops on our little free adventure day…read more Gallery 9 was a gorgeous gallery space, very well situated in downtown Los Altos and had a front end artist resident along with several back area un-sold pieces from past shows by other artists. I loved several (already sold sadly) pieces from the resident artist Naomi Mindelzun and of the pieces in the back area really gravitated to the two men fishing - the artist adored the water and it absolutely came through. The reason for the four over the five for me is that many of the back section pieces felt amateurish. Many of the artists seemed newer and less honed in their skill, and it showed in what Gallery 9 portrayed. When we left the honey even commented that he was shocked by the watercolors presented, as he is currently taking a watercolor class and felt several students had produced higher quality work from that class. All in all the service was polite, if not completely hands off (what I personally look for in a gallery) and I would definitely stop by again.

2016 edit: We did not attend this year due to the issues from the previous year…read more ******************************************************** I was definitely not as much of a fan of this years Jingle Fest. This year was the first year at the convention center location and I'm not sure it was a good move. To start off with the parking was difficult. It's the convention center, so it would be, but then you have to walk across the bridge, go down the escalators and sign in. What took 5 minutes max at the last location, is a 10-15 minute experience here, especially if you can't find parking or get behind someone slow. It is closer to us than the last one was, and easier to find, but it definitely felt like they had either upped the table price to sell due to the new location, or several of our favorite vendors had not wanted to make the move. The unusual crocheted hat lady was gone, as was the hand painted mug seller - both of whom we go to Jingle Fest specifically to see. Many of the vendors seemed less home-based and more mainstream/ festival circuit. Which is great for them, but not why we go to the Craft Fair. I'm not sure why the dancing booth or the San Jose Sharks had a hockey tent at the Craft Fair. It almost seemed like the 100+ vendors they touted this year had fallen through, because they didn't even fill 2/3 of the space. While I enjoyed several vendors: My favorites, Studio Sesame and their beautiful hand made jammie pants, Terri's In Stitches and their absolutely breathtaking quality of quilts, and Queen Bee and her super cute tea cup bracelet. StarVisions was back again this year as well and Steamy Punk, the space was far too open and not homey or welcoming. The only big positive for me was they had an ATM. I'm hoping they find a new location next year - this one really didn't work for us. Though I noticed it a lot less than the honey did.
