Great Program - responsive teachers and easy to use software. Worked great to pick up an extra summer school course for our daughter

Christina and Eric are fantastic educators and wonderful people. I definitely feel that my son would have fallen through the cracks in a standard institution, but at NVSI he has been nurtured, supported and developed beyond my wildest hopes. The hands on approach and unique learning structure offered really seems to have had a positive and lasting impact on my son. He has never wanted to go to school as avidly as he has since enrolling at NVSI. The change in attitude is amazing. I would recommend this school for any child. The cost is also very economical compared to other private schools in the area. That is not to say that NVSI is not a commitment for both the parents and the student, but it is absolutely worth the investment 100%.

My son started at Challenger school over a year ago when he was four. He went to Montessori Visions…read moreAcademy prior to that. It's quite a change in his academic progress and his enthusiasm for school. He says Yayy every morning when I tell him what day it is, and that's school day. He started reading when he was four and a half. I don't have to ask him twice when it's reading time at home. Somehow Challenger got him to feel like he is having fun when he reads or works on the worksheets. He is able to explain to me errors he makes on his worksheets at school, and able to show me corrections. I am happy with his academic growth at this school. I like that the school entrance is locked at all time. You can't get to the front desk before you get approved to pass through the locked entrance There were couple times I had issues with admin. At first, I didn't know the school required uniform shirt and pants. I only ordered my son uniform shirts and went to buy him pants from a clothing store. One day he came home in someone else's pants with no note to explain why his pants were changed. When I called, that was when I was informed about the mandatory uniform. I was upset at how they made him change into different pants at school, and how they didn't have the courtesy to call me to work out the uniform issue. Another time was when I received a past due notice, and a warning of my son's school termination if the past due was not taken care of by so and so date. I was not made aware of the due. When I called the school to take care of the amount, I was told that it was from the one day that we picked him up late. Ms Brenda always calls me back in timely manner. For how happy my son is at this school, I can look past all the admin issues I have had.

This school is so terrible to experience as a middle schooler. I am now an 8th Grader that does…read moreonline school, but I used to go here as a 6th Grader. This school has bad and odd students. These students aren't the nice or typical students that mind their business and are respectful. The girls always involve in drama and they act like they're grown adults who have free will. Wearing makeup, revealing clothes, doing whatever they can to look so nice. But if you don't follow what they wear, your seen as an outcast or your not good enough for them. The boys and girls here are bad and aren't safe to be around. They vape, threaten to hurt other kids, they hide things from they're parents. I've seen 7th Graders with nose piercings who said they hide it from their parents. These kids aren't being monitored or checked on at home. They even secretly sell vapes, I once had a old friend who tried to by a vape off a kid for $20. Girls spray they're perfume everywhere trying to "smell good" god you might as well put a deadly gas in the school. Perfume is too strong to be spraying around casually. Perfume has chemicals in it, you can get kids sick or trigger allergic reactions with that, even teachers! There was a time at P.E in the locker room, I was changing infront of the other girls into my gym clothes. Some girl looks at me and said "why are your buds so black?" Thats disrespectful and can make a kid very insecure of themselves. And it also sounds pretty racist, especially since I'm black. The boys here don't act any different. Almost every kid here acts racist anyways. But the staff here aren't too different. The staff here are rude and don't take accountability. I had a older brother who used to go here when he was in 6th-7th Grade. Some girl and her friends kept picking on him and bullying him. Those girls wouldn't leave him alone. Everyday I would see him come home and talk to my mom of how he hated school and how those girls kept picking on him. He tried going to the principals office, made reports over and over. But what did they do? Nothing. They ignored his reports and his sign for help. Those girls never got in trouble. There was then finally a time those girls picked on him once again. And my brother couldn't take it anymore. What did he do? He took matters into his own hands, and you could say he beat her up pretty badly. But when he did that, he was later expelled for defending himself. Defending himself from something that this shitty school could've easily prevented if they cared. And that girls punishment? She didn't even get expelled too, she got suspended for only a few days. I don't know if they did this for his skintone or because they're horrible at their jobs, but this shows you can't rely on this school for anything. And if you try to help yourself, you'll be in the wrong. Another thing is kids in this school supposedly like to have sex? I remember after school ended for the day and everyone was outside waiting to be picked up, I was with one of my friends talking. But then her friend who was a 7th Grade girl walked up to me and my friend. I didn't know who she was, but my friend and her knew each other. But that same 7th Grader saidshe had sex with her boyfriend, then proceeds to open her backpack and show condoms inside of it. This school is casually having sex without teachers knowing, and sex these days are being watered down to hobby activities for teenagers. It's disgusting and not ok. The school food is dry and gross, and the gym and locker rooms are infested with cockroaches. But from all of this information, this middle school is not worthy of your children going here. This school gave me anxiety and disabled me from socializing other kids and making friends. I now do online school because I am scared of talking to other kids, scared they'll make fun of me, call me names, see me differently, won't fit with them because I don't look the same way like every other else girl does. I now rely on online friends, it's not the safest but what other choices do I have to actually help myself make friends and genuinely happy. This school isn't safe or calming, especially if your child has some type of disability. You should really think before sending your child here, because this is not a safe place for them to go. The only thing that made this school keep my sanity and helped me go by, were my best friends I had since 3rd-5th Grade. It's hard to make friends here if you don't fit in, so be careful for children that go here.

Terrible school. The staff doesn't care about your children at all most things they brush off, and…read moreteachers are still just as problematic as the students. I wouldn't recommend going here as I went here before and it was terrible. Most bad kids get rewarded for doing good for one week while the actually good students get rewarded with a piece of paper that doesn't give them any pride to keep going.
