Via Yelp, I found Kim's who was more than welcoming with my day of request. I arrived within half an hour of their opening time and met with a really sweet lady, who I assume to be Vickie from the previous reviewer. She looked over my garments and discussed the pricing with me, I believe starting at $10 for 1" single initial letters. She showed me the block font and took me to the back to show me samples of the script font and font sizes. I asked her if she thought blue or silver would be better for the thread, and she showed me several different shades of silver that would work best with the font type and font size selected with the white robe cloth. I apologized for the rush request, and explained my situation. Vickie congratulated me and then said that she would embroider the letters in an outline design, so that the lettering would stand out more. I asked her how much more that would cost, and she said not to worry, as it was my gift (aww!). I was then robes would be available later in the evening, so I asked if she could just put the items outside if I wasn't going to make it. Fast forward only three hours, and on the way to rehearsal, I realized there was no way in hell I would be able to pick them up. I called Kim's Embroidery and Vickie said that they were already done. The fiancee and I swung by, and Vickie had each of the robes neatly folded back inside their packaging with none of the belts which had been tied in a bow disturbed. She had selected a BEAUTIFUL bluish silver thread for the lettering and did a fabulous job with the embroidery. I was pleasantly surprised with how beautiful the embroidery turned out and the thread color matched one of my wedding colors perfectly. Vickie gave me the total price, and I was dismayed to learn that she only took cash or check. The fiancee and I only had x amount of dollars between us both, so I was able to work something out with Vickie. My bridesmaids loved their personalized robes. The customer service here was outstanding and the quality of work superb. I would highly recommend Kim's Embroidery for your embroidery needs. (I did note that there were tons of companies on her wall of samples so it looks like she has a solid customer base.) When it came time to order graduation stoles, I knew exactly who to go to. I needed 12 graduation stoles embroidered, each with different wording. Although his shop is small and tucked away off the side of the road, don't let that fool you. Cam is incredibly genuine, detail-oriented, and takes pride in his work. He asked plenty of questions to make sure he fully understood what I wanted and even created a quick mock-up when I dropped off the stoles so we could visualize the final product. During the embroidery process, he also called to confirm the wording and placement one last time to ensure everything came out exactly as I envisioned. His turnaround time was quick, and he called as soon as everything was ready for pickup. I would recommend bringing your stoles to him as early as possible during graduation season since he has many orders to complete. I paid half upfront when dropping off the stoles and the remaining balance when I picked them up. The embroidery only costed me between $12-20 per stole depending on what was embroidered. The embroidery itself was excellent. The stitching was clean, professional, and didn't warp or distort the fabric at all. Even the backing was trimmed neatly, so it wasn't uncomfortable to wear. Overall, I highly recommend Cam's embroidery services, especially for graduation stoles. He's located just a couple of miles from the SJSU campus, making him a convenient option for students looking for high-quality custom stoles at about a fraction of the price of what the university charges.
