This place is Indian and Asian fusion. There are Singaporean and Chinese dishes. If you look closely at the menu, there seems to be "Specials of the Day" every day. The focus seems to be on take out and you self-serve to water, utensils, napkins. The Chicken Kothu Parotta came out quickly. I liked the curry sauce that came with it. The dish is a little spicy by itself. The Biryanis take a little longer and looked great. The Chicken in the Biryani was fried which surprised me a little. The Mutton Dum Biryani was spicier, so I had the yogurt sauce that came with it. 3 dishes for 3 people and we took about half of the leftovers home. The price is good value for students. read more

Great value and flavor for an Indian fusion fast casual joint. The bowls are loaded with vegetables and meat but the key to the four stars are the generous laddles of sauce they pour on. The dosas and wraps are perfectly sized as well if you can't do a full bowl and are priced well too. The mint sauce and cilantro at the end add a little extra flavor on top of the sauces if you're looking for a fun additional pop to your meal. read more

After living in Champaign for 6 weeks and feeling very deprived of quality places to eat, I was starting to lose hope. Signature Grill doesn't look like much on the outside. Its Disney font and proclamations of FUSION made me wary of coming in. Yelp said it was good, but I've mostly disagreed with Yelp ratings in CU. I can confidently say that Signature Grill is the best food within a 50mi radius of the UIUC campus, and it is not even close. We randomly ordered a Szechuan Gobi, Paneer Quesadilla, and a 65 Chicken Parotha. Amazing on all counts. Spices, flavors, ingredients, everything. Everything tasted how it should have. Signature Grill would do well in populated, competitive food metros. They'd have food yuppies and other folks waiting in line to get in, and other folks clogging up the kitchen and hosting staff with Doordash orders 24/7 365. I'm so thankful to have found this place and will continue to come here so long as I am in CU. Chef and staff please keep doing what you're doing! The team is doing amazing work. read more

Interestingly though I attempted to order chicken tikka masala and they told me they did not have that, so I ordered a rice bowl with chicken tikka with tikka masala sauce on top so I'm unsure why they said that just very odd. The food was fine nothing spectacular, and service was quick and get out as they mostly are on green street. For the price it's a good deal and quick enough that I would make another stop in. Was traveling from Peoria to Indiana. We were hungry and couldn't find anything open for dinner due to Thanksgiving. We lucky drove to Urbana Champagne and found a few restaurants in the university area. My boyfriend's roommate suggested this place and it was good! While it says international food, it is mostly an Indian restaurant. The only Mexican thing about this place was the corn tortillas, tomatoes, onions, and cilantro they included on my Paneer Tikka order. They were delicious!!! I order the taco special, while my boyfriend and his roommate got the rice bowl. The prices were decent and location is nice. We were visiting briefly and needed a very quick lunch on our way out of town. We love Indian cuisine and have it frequently in/around Chicago. We're picky about it -- it has to be good and good are few and far between. All three of us were delighted with our lunch at Signature Grill. It's fast but really delicious. Restaurant review Just as others mentioned, this is a Indian version of chipotle where you can chose between a rice bowel, burrito, salad, or tacos with different protein including tikka chicken, malai chicken, mint paneer, grilled beef, crunchy fish, and masala shrimp. For a first timer, the other options such as the tikka vs korma flavor are a bit confusing. You can choose from three sauces which are mild mint, medium tomato, and spicy red chili. Afterwards you finish off with different toppings such as cheese, quac, etc. I tried the chicken tikka burrito and I would say that the flavors were spot on (basically a chipotle burrito with indian spices). My wife chose the masala shrimp. This was a big let down as the food felt luke warm to cold and there was nothing special about this dish (basically curry shrimp over rice). We did not end up trying the partha or the samosas during our most recent visit. Food was served quick. Pleasantly surprised by this place! It was a great fast-casual way to have Indian food and portions are hefty for the price. I had the rice bowl ($6.99) with tikka chicken and then added tikka sauce and a variety of toppings. It definitely hit the spot. My bf had the samosa dosa and that was just as tasty as well. I order from here at least once or twice a week. The food is great, my favorite is the chicken tikka burritos. The food is filling and very flavorful. The staff is extremely nice and always give you a generous portion. Look out for their daily specials where they rotate street menu items such as puri's, dosa's, and Indian fusion dishes. Their masala chai and mango lassi's are fantastic as well. Highly recommend visiting if you are looking for fresh authentic Indian food and a quick bite to eat. read more

My most visited restaurant on campus. They have great Indian flavors in a "chipotle" style menu. They've even got great South Indian food options as specials and pretty good Dosa. Don't come here if you're looking for authentic Indian foods, because that's not the point, it's meant to be a fast casual place. Overall, if this place disappeared I'd be very disappointed. Personal recommendations: Get the rice bowl or the burrito, everything else is just not worth the money or items like the dosa wrap, just isn't the right way to have them. Signature Grill has always been a great place to satisfy Indian food cravings with fast take out, but they've made a few improvements lately. Best of which was replacing the previously pretty bland mint paneer with tikka paneer. I had the paneer in a dosa today, and it was absolutely delicious! I also love that the rice dishes are served in a biodegradable takeout box and the paratha wrap/taco simply in aluminum foil (though the dosa was in styrofoam box). Still would love a few more topping and sauce options (e.g. raita, cucumber, tomato chutney), but this is still a great place to eat as-is. read more

Oh dear god. This place, wow this samosa chaat, my oh my. I haven't been to the actual restaurant yet so that part of the review would come up later but I had the samosa chaat the other day, which let me tell you it's honestly a good rollercoaster of flavours. It has the perfect combination of spices in cooking, a kick of spicy and a kick of sweet with one of the chatni (I believe that's what it's called). I visited for the first time thanks to a hooked deal and boy am I glad to have discovered this GEM! I have chased good Indian food in Champaign-Urbana since my undergrad years (10 years ago) and this place does not disappoint. Very casual, but clean! I was confused by the logo at first. If not for the hooked deal, I would have never known it to be an Indian place. If you are looking for a date spot or a nice sit-down Indian restaurant, I would recommend Kohinoor or Himalayan Chimney in downtown Champaign. Signature Grill is a customizable, assembly-line, made to order restaurant that uses the Chipotle/Subway/Blaze concept and applies it to Indian food. The choices for base (lettuce, rice), protein, veggies, and sauces are simple but effective. The staff was very courteous and gave me some samples to test spiciness before ordering. I love Indian food and I love chipotle, but do I love the weird fusion between the two? Signature Grill definitely packs some great Indian flavors and the smell of its food often leaks into the sidewalk during hot afternoons on Green. I think the bowls and burritos could be executed better since the portions aren't that great and the topping choices don't mesh together as nicely as chipotle is able to pull it off. The dosas are a real hidden gem at this place and are made on the spot with sambar on the side. Well priced and very fresh with good portion sizes. Samosas and wraps are also good since the wraps are just $5 and is actually a very flakey paratha with basic toppings. Try the wrap with mashed samosas or with the chicken tikka. read more

I used to LOVE Signature Grill. I have an anaphylactic allergy to wheat, and dosas are made of lentil and safe. But then I went to the restaurant today. Luckily I always tell them I need gluten free due to an allergy to wheat. I was told the dosas aren't GF. When I argued with them that dosas are made of lentils so they ARE GF (thinking maybe he thought lentils had gluten), he reiterated that no, they recently changed their recipe to include all-purpose flour. My guess would be to save $. But if I hadn't said something that would have been very bad as dosas, real dosas, are always GF. Don't market yourselves as selling dosas...they are now crepes and not safe for scores of people who need gluten free. read more
