On Thursday, they finally got back to me, let me know they were closed on Wednesday. The next time I had a break in my schedule on Friday, texted at 9:30, suggested 12:30 to pick up new lenses, at 11:30 they texted me 12:30 was taken, how about 1:30. Tried calling no answer. I texted back at 11:45 and said OK for 1:30. They responded that they gave that time to someone else. When I finally got an answer they said to just come by and knock on door. When I did knock, the woman signaled to me that I should call-they would not come to the door. When I finally talked to the Father, (it really is "Family" ) he said he was sorry I was upset, but never apologized for poor service. His son gave me the exam, the Mom checked the son's work, and the Father fitted the frames. I was happy until they kept letting the phone go to voice mail, and started with the texting.

I showed up at the East Haven, CT office to find no waiting area. I had to stand and wait for my…read moreturn to speak to the receptionist. The office is one big room divided by small partitions. My exam was done basically in the hallway because there was no room. When Dr. Noecker came into the exam room, he said "You know how this goes, right?" Well, no I don't. I'm not an ophthalmologist and it was going to be my first surgery of any kind. He explained the procedure to me, but not the possible problems that may occur during or after the surgery. I read his reviews on other sites & saw a lot of "1 stars" with major complaints so I have decided to cancel my surgery and go with another ophthalmologist.

I had a broken shoulder surgically repaired last week, my dominant/writing hand. My arm is immobilized. I asked if there was another way I could provide the information because I was left-handed and would have trouble filling out the paperwork. The person I was speaking to went around the corner to ask someone else and I heard her say 'he can fill it out with his right hand.' I walked around the corner and said, 'you've got to be kidding me, there's no other way I can provide this information to you? What if someone has a disability, how would they do this?' The response was 'Their aid would fill it out.' I just took my insurance card and id and left while saying, 'or perhaps you could have provided the paperwork in advance, provide it electronically, or let me answer the questions verbally like every other office has been able to do.' I've had multiple first-time office visits in the past few weeks due to the broken shoulder. Very hard for me to politely explain how obnoxious and unnecessarily rude this was. Not to mention how out of line the response to the disability question was.

It…read moremust be difficult to gage how much time to allot for each patient and I note there are a couple of comments regarding her ability to keep to a certain time slot. Yesterday, I saw her for my annual check up. Her pervious patient was a child being fitted for contact lenses which must have been difficult for the girl. As a result, Dr. Manion was naturally concerned that this young patient was made as comfortable as possible, and thus the start of my consultation was slightly delayed. During Covid19 Dr. Manion had a wild influx of New Yorkers fleeing the city, in need of consultations, and as such she and her team had their work cut out for them in order to see as many patients as possible in a day. Naturally this inconvenienced other 'regular' patients, but with a little kindness and thoughtfulness, Westport Eyecare patients were all accommodated. Dr. Manion's care and attention to detail quite possibly saved my eyesight and restored my vision. I cannot recommend her more highly! In my experience most doctors run late because they care for the patients they are tending, as do car mechanics and plumbers!
