I went back to PV twice and they suggested returning to Modern Focus as the lenses matched the script. The Dr at MF said my vision changed and gave me less of a correction. I feel her 11/25 script was inaccurate but she said no and charge me $60 for the new one because I didn't buy glasses there. What a rip off! PV is making my new lenses for free. Now that's good customer service. Oh, and I was the doctor's first appt of the day and she arrived 15 minutes late to work. Like my time isn't worth anything? Needless to say, I canceled my next exam. I went to Dr Gould for years and always received excellent care and customer service. MF could use a little training on both areas.

Dr. Weitzman got rid of it and worked on his other eye. My husband wore thick glasses and for the first time in oh 45 years now had 20/20 vision. He was in total shock. Now it was my turn (darn it) but it appears that I will also have 20/20 vision after wearing glasses for 30 years. Then the week of the surgery I was told it was not done and I maybe could not get the surgery. Then It was I did not need pre-authorization at all and only 20$ would be due in office when previously they told me 5000$ would be due. I should have took the hint. Went to Joseph J. Thimons for surgery follow up after cross linking. First eye went fine. Second eye they removed the bandage the day after and then asked me that my surgery was last week, right? after they removed it. The pain was intense. Today at my month follow up we had this conversation: "my vision has been really blurry I'm having trouble seeing without my glasses" "How is your vision with your glasses?' "Fine but" "WELL if your happy with your vision with your glasses your all set if not see your regular doctor for a contact for the left eye people usually do well with that" Before the surgery I could read my PC screen no issues, only issue is distance. Right now I can not read my screen without my glasses. Going to have to go to another doctor that is maybe worth the time.

I had been doing well for over a year with no flare-ups, but this weekend, I developed a pretty severe case. Of course, the symptoms didn't manifest until Saturday morning, and I had an event on Sunday that I really did not want to miss. Fortunately, Dr. Cervantes was on call for the practice. I called the answering service and immediately received a callback. Dr. Cervantes could have easily told me to go to the ER and follow up with him on Monday. But he didn't. He met me at the office on both Saturday and Sunday and treated me in person. I was able to attend and enjoy my event on Sunday. Dr. Cervantes is a truly caring doctor. The office staff is equally as wonderful and got me in again on Monday to make sure we were headed in the right direction. I am truly grateful for the wonderful care I have received from Dr. Cervantes and his staff, and I cannot recommend Connecticut Eye Specialists highly enough!

Accompanying my wife for her follow up visit after her procedure which took place last year, our appointment time was completely ignored by his office. After waiting an hour without anyone contacting us, we asked the receptionist for information as to why there was such a delay. No information was provided. Returning to the waiting area wondering what to do, the doctor was leaving one of his patients on the way to his next one and I learned from him that he scheduled his patient office visits in groups for a given time and then asks them to wait for him to find the time to actually see them. Basically overbooking a time slot to conform to his treatment methods. This is totally disrespectful to his patients who expect his individual attention and treatment and ignores the specific circumstances of each patient's requirements. For anyone who reads this, please consider other optometrists if you can. Since this guy joined the ReFocus group a few years ago , his patient performance rating has plummeted and my wife and I are so disappointed, wishing that we had other options following her procedure performed by him a year ago.

I give receptionist my new insurance card but she says she is not familiar with the company so she will charge me a self-pay rate. Fine. While I wait for the doctor in the patient room, her boss, the Office Manager, comes to follow up. She tells me, 'You're not a new patient (true) and this is a routine exam. You pay for the eye test at self-pay rate but IF the doctor finds something wrong and you need further testing or treatment, we'll go through insurance." Again, fine. Doctor checks my eyes and his diagnosis is "nothing new, eyes look healthy". Everything runs smoothly and 10 minutes later nurse escorts me back to the receptionist to checkout. There, I am told I owe co-pay and that they will send to insurance which will then send me a bill. Wait, doesn't this contradict what the OM just told me a few minutes earlier? So, I turn to the OM looking puzzled and reiterate that it was a routine eye test and doctor found nothing wrong. OM's reaction was startling, as if a switch had been flipped. She starts accusing me of trying to commit a fraud. A FRAUD??? And because she was wearing a mask, she raised her voice high enough to make sure everyone at the clinic heard her. The OM then, angrily shuffles through my chart and says, "You have a pre-existing condition (same for the last 7 years) and that diagnosis goes under a different insurance code. Now, how would I have known that? But as for my pre-existing condition, YOU would have known so you clearly failed to acknowledge it earlier. And to suddenly go ballistic, accusing me of fraud? Do you even know what the word means? AWFUL.
