He arrived in the timeframe he stated, and even texted to let me know he was 30-40 minutes away. He's a knowledgeable and very pleasant person to deal with. He discovered that the problem was bigger than just a broken cable, and showed us that in addition to the broken cable the spring assembly was also broken, requiring the installation of a new dishwasher base. My wife and I moved from out-of-state back to Oahu in September, and we inherited a Bosch compact ventless dryer that worked well for two months but stopped spinning all of a sudden. The last couple of weeks it made pretty loud squeaking noises when it was running. After taking it apart, David showed us a broken belt (which would have been easily replaced) but also what looked like years' worth of dust buildup that he explained was common among compact ventless dryers. He also explained that when this dust accumulation mixes with the Bosch lubricant over the years of usage, it turns to a tar-like consistency, and the machine never works the same again. He told us that we could take the machine apart, vacuum as much of the dust as possible and replace the broken belt, but odds are we would end up spending close to 1/2 the cost of a new machine on repairs, and he could not guarantee that these repairs would be long-lasting. He recommended we get a new machine. We appreciated his honesty. We want to get a full-sized ventless dryer since we have the space for it. I wish I could give David ten stars. He went above and beyond to fix my stove top when the "cooktop on" light would not turn off. I remember calling different companies on a Saturday and he was the only one who answered the phone. He made three trips to my place over the course of almost a month, replaced the switch and even when I thought something was wrong with the burner, he came over to look at it after buying the replacement part and told me that the burner that I already have is still in working condition. We just purchased a condo a few months ago, and the property manager informed us the fridge was leaking water onto the floor. I don't normally leave a review before service has been completed but David has been great to work with since I reached out 5 or 6 weeks ago and I want others to know. Our washer was leaking, all signs pointed to the tub seal, which apparently is a tough repair - lot of other companies responded with "sorry we can't help". David provided a reasonable quote but after checking out our unit he explained in detail that while he could replace the tub seal it wouldn't solve the problem and in a few months time we'd be leaking again. He gave us multiple options, we decided to replace the tub. He ordered the part which takes quite some time to ship as it's too large for anything but freight. Here we are 5 weeks later and the part hasn't arrived, and now it seems that maybe it hasn't shipped yet! But this isn't David's fault and he's been super responsive and is trying to resolve the issue. I hope to update this review with a happy ending and more kudos, but if we end up having to cancel the project I'll definitely call David for future needs. He took a look and a listen to my groaning, rattling, thumping dryer, felt around inside the drum and showed me all the dents that were causing the noise when they passed over the rollers. Our three-year-old GE washing machine wouldn't start randomly one day. After doing a Yelp search for appliance repair companies I called David from Sifu Systems and he kindly informed me that he was booked out by over a week, and would understand if we couldn't wait. It was a thoughtful gesture that I appreciated and represented his style. We set a date and time; he messaged when he was on his way; and arrived promptly. The diagnosis was failure of an electronics part that would need to be replaced. David indicated an initial estimate he thought it might be, and then looked into the specifics and found that it's a bit more expensive - really bordering on the cost of a brand new machine. The advice he'd give a family member, he told us, was to skip the repair and just get a new machine, given that cost. He also discounted the cost of his diagnostic visit, as he felt it had been pretty straightforward. My electric GE oven, a little over 3 years old and just out of warranty, started to shut down a couple of minutes after I hit the "start" button and an error code appeared in the display. Happened every time and the oven was unusable. I looked up the code online and learned that the error was with the ventilation fan sensor. Our fridge's water line broke leaking water in our newly replaced flooring. We called around to various appliance repair companies who all had limited availability and would cost a min $150 just to show up and diagnose the problem.
