I first met Lauren when I thought I wanted a Cavapoo (Cavalier King Charles spaniel & Poodle mix) …read more We went to see her puppies, but my husband thought a Cavapoo would shed too much. We had Cockers for years and really loved them. Talking to Laurel, we decided to order a Maltipoo (not even bred yet). She had such extensive knowledge about every breed she has that we both felt this was a better choice for us. She is so VERY careful with her breeding schedules that the pup would not be available for a few months. If she ran a puppy mill, she would have at least tried to talk us into a puppy she had available right then. Our puppy was born later so we went to see her and she was darllng! When she was old enough, we picked up the little bundle of white fur. She was perfect. Smart, affectionate...just what we wanted. She had been vet checked, given first shots, microchipped, etc. Laurel made sure I knew how to care for her, gave me a generous supply of food to last until I could get some for her. We never had any health problems because Laurel knows about all the possible problems and has the pups checked to know they are OK when they leave her home. We got along great until my precious baby was 4 1/2 years old. She got out into the dead-end lane in front of our house, was hit by a truck and my worst fear happened. She didn't suffer, but I did! I searched for rescue Maltipoos and Maltese, but people don't rehome Maltese often because they are so wonderful. I called Lauren (I was crying for Beatrice and so was Lauren) but she had 2 Maltese girls from her last litter. Again, the puppy was perfect and helped fill that hole in my heart. We also have 2 older rescue dogs and my new baby loved them. Sometimes too much. They would rather sleep than play sometimes, so now we have 2 darling litter-mate girls that are cousins to the baby I lost; they have the same grandmother Beatrice had. I even see some of her mannerisms in them. They entertain themselves and us with their antics and our older dogs get their sleep in. My sister also lost her dog to old age about the same time we lost Beatrice and ended up getting a Cavapoo from Lauren, too. She is perfect for my sister. Someone on this website made a comment that she thought Lauren had a puppy mill, but there must be more behind the story because nothing could be further from the truth. Lauren is very careful with her breeding program, retiring her breeding dogs when they reach an appropriate age, Her dogs have good food, recreation, love, room and a place to run and enjoy the outside, and are well cared-for. She always has dogs in her home with her. NOT ONE DOG is forced to spend their lives in tiny cages with little food or water and no recreation. I know this because I went to her farm to see for myself before I would get a dog from her. Anyone who thinks differently is sadly mistaken. I have fostered dogs for an animal rescue near me for several years and have seen dogs that come from those terrible places. I won't go into any details, but I have shed tears just seeing how hey have been so extremely mistreated. I have told many people about Dreamcatcher Hill and will continue to do so because I don't think anyone could be more concerned about their animals and the homes they are going to than Lauren at Dreamcatcher Hill. Sorry this is so long, but I had to let everyone know that though I'm not a close personal friend of Lauren's, I feel privileged to have found someone who cares so much about their puppies so I can have such smart, well-bred companions!

Laurel was very helpful when he had some transition issues to my home and made some recommendations on how to get him over the hump and start eating. Worked like a charm I would recommend Dreamcatcher Hill Puppies.

I have to say, from the beginning to the end, Roger was nothing but amazing!!!!! He was soo nice and helpful. He and Dylan went above and beyond while I was there. Everyone was extremely nice. It was an 1.5 drive there and Roger, provided excellent directions throughout. We took another route home which was only 45 minutes thru north county. Yes, they are breeders. There are babies who I assume live in the house whom walk around loose, a good 10+, whom are extremely nice and loving. I purchased a 5.5 year old golden retriever from here and I would gladly rescue another older golden from here again. The majority of the fur babies reside outside and are not house-broken or trained. They are outside babies and will need patience and love. She was not up to date on shots. They use old school methods regarding flea/tick control. They keep the nails trimmed. I asked if they would wash her before we left and he gladly obliged. My baby has quickly learned to live inside, she is still learning of course. She has the sweetest temperament. Roger, assisted me, but ultimately she chose me and I chose her. She is absolutely beautiful!!!!

Paid $2000 fro a month of dog training. Then got hit up for an e collar that I was told cost $215…read more Went back next day to get an e collar and they tried a switch and bait wanting to charge me $285. They train by shocking the dog. That's lazy so called training. And paid extra for unleash training which doesn't work unless you shock them. Taking my dog to a real trainer that doesn't use a shock collar and I get to be involved not just a for an hour but every class. Save your money and frustrations. There are less expensive real trainers that don't use E collars and you don't have to board them.

Prior to sending my dog Connolly, I read every single review I could find. I didn't sleep a wink…read morethe night before he was dropped off and even shed a tear or two. I can now, without a shadow of a doubt, say sending him to Sorenson was one of the best decisions I have ever made. Connie has jumped out of a moving car (luckily turning into a driveway), broken a plate glass door, and threatened to rupture ear drums with his piercing demand barking to name a few. When visiting him for his coming home training, he was truly a changed dog. He was calm, attentive, and eager to show what he learned. THIS was the goal. I have trained my previous dogs, but had finally met my match. I am so confident that he has the tools now to succeed and expand his world by getting to go places and meet new people. Max was our trainer. I highly recommend him and suggest you request him. When I went for MY training for how to continue this work at home, it was clear to see he loved my dog and my dog absolutely loves him. Connolly is an Irish Setter mix and stubborn as heck, for him to adore the person who has effectively stopped him from being a little tyrant speaks volumes. Max gave us detailed instructions as well as amazing photos and updates throughout Connie's stay. It is clear that this isn't just a job for Max, dogs are his passion. He did the arduous task of training Connie and it is now up to me to reinforce all that he has learned so he doesn't lose it! So person at their wits end with the dog they love, I hope this review calms any nerves you may have about sending your dog to Sorenson for training. Ask for Max, I promise you won't regret your decision!
