Really happy with Jose and his crew. They tackled a drainage project and were very professional, worked quickly, and even solved some additional problems that emerged seamlessly. Jose had great communication with us every step of the way also. read more

Jose was super responsive. His crew removed a huge patch of grass in the front yard. It's months later now and I have had a minimal amount of follow-up weeding to do. Jose was friendly and knowledgeable and gave me some great advice for my yard moving forward. read more

Very pleased! We needed a 'rush' job on our rental property as new tenants are expecting a baby around Christmas and having family and friends visiting. Jose helped us with picking out the product, brought his guys to work over the weekend, and they did a great job.! Great attitude all around, his team was attentive to our questions and informative about the work. There was a small problem with fitting to an existing curvy patio and Jose came out himself and got it perfect. Couldn't be happier, thank you Jose and team! read more

I called Sierra Landscape Designs for a small project and Jose responded quickly. We were so impressed with the work he had done for others, that we expanded the scope of work to include the driveway and new walkway among other things. Jose and his talented team did an outstanding job for us. It exceeded our expectations and we will not hesitate to use them again! Great value and fair pricing, as well. read more

Jose was an absolute joy to work with. This man knows concrete and our Goleta soils. He worked very well with our engineer and was extremely responsive to a lot of pop up needs. He knows the local inspection process and has a good knowledge of "how things get done" in Goleta. He replaced a 29 year old pool deck on our HOA - and notified our board of issues and offered solutions. Competitively priced with a lot of value added. He made significant recommendations for color of tiles, coping, and finishes. His crew works well. I would definitely use him again. read more

Our HOA has worked with Jose for years on various projects. Most recently, we had some pool repairs needed and Jose quoted out the job, got the necessary permits, etc. Our project got stalled for a few years, for various reasons (the HOA stalled it, NOT Jose). A few months ago Jose reached out and let us know permits and such were expiring soon so we moved forward - having him finish up the repairs. He even offered to honor his original quote (except for the increased material costs). This saved us thousands of dollars and months of additional delays. Jose and team did a FANTASTIC job with our pool repairs (deck, fencing, etc.) and we couldn't be more happy. He even offered to come back and do some additional work for us at no charge when he had a break in jobs. On behalf of our HOA, we highly recommend Jose and his team for all of your needs! read more

Very happy I went with Jose. I saw high ratings on Yelp and the houses they had completed in the neighborhood were nice. I gave a pretty detailed plan and Jose responded with a broken out statement of work with material amounts and types. That's always a good sign. It was clear after a long initial consultation that they know what they are experts and I could expect quality work. My project got completed ahead of schedule and they did a better job than I imagined. Open communication from Jose was a big part of that: progress updates, their next steps and questions for me. Great job! read more

My landscape architect and I chose José from among several other installers, and I am so glad we did. He is truly dedicated to his mission of creating beautiful landscapes -- which in my case was especially tricky, given the steep hillside involved and the limited access to it. José was a creative problem-solver of issues that naturally arose, and offered practical solutions as well as more affordable alternatives. His crew, which remained the same core of workers throughout the year-long project, were always neat, courteous, on-time, and amazingly cheerful. Despite the inherent disruption of a big project, which involved a whole hillside of planting as well as hardscaping (including a fireplace, a patio, a water feature, and two staircases) I actually miss those guys! Even now, well after the project's completion, José often checks in to make sure everything is still OK. I highly recommend him. read more

I've been working closely with Jose Garcia, the owner of Sierra Landscape Designs, on a pretty significant redesign of a large patio space. He's been incredibly responsive; he's obviously extremely experienced and knowledgeable; his quoted price was excellent; and the quality of his work is superb. If I take on anything else in the future, I'll call him first. Thanks, Jose! read more

Several months ago I walked past a nearby landscaping job that Jose and his crew were finishing up. I loved the clean look of the design and asked Jose for his business card. Shortly thereafter, Jose provided my husband and me several design ideas and a very reasonable quote for a much-needed redesign for our front and side yards. The Sierra Landscape Designs team built us 2 beautiful cedar split-rail fences and brought in a gorgeous olive tree for the corner of the yard. They were able to eradicate the stubborn crab grass that was in the yard for years and upgraded our existing manual sprinklers to an automatic system. Jose took my husband and me to San Marcos Growers, where we drove through the many, many aisles of trees and plants and, with Jose's knowledge and good advice, chose lots of greens, flowering shrubs and ground cover. Lastly we had 2 "islands" of Marathon sod installed, two sizes of gravel spread on the shady side of the house, and flagstone pavers laid to create a walkway. Plus 2 months of maintenance at no extra charge! We are very pleased with the final result and have received lots of compliments from our neighbors. We highly recommend Jose and his team at Sierra Landscape Designs. read more

We had decided that our back fence needed to be replaced, so I started looking on the internet for a contractor that could do the job. I found Sierra Landscape Design and found that the workmanship that was shown on his website was just what we were looking for. Once Jose came by to take a look at our yard, I had already come up with some other items that I wanted to tackle. We had an old concrete slab that used to have a jacuzzi, BBQ's that did have a permanent spot, and grass that was not pretty and messy trees. Overall, a corner of our backyard needed a makeover and Jose was able to help us with our vision. Jose was onsite throughout the whole project, gave us options and was clear on pricing choices. Our new pergola that holds the BBQ's matches our existing pergola, my husband has a putting green and minimal yard work to do, a major win-win. The first job that was done was the replacement of our fence, a retaining wall had to be installed with a wood fence on top. Even though this was done in the winter, they were able to get it done within a reasonable amount of time. The guys kept the worksite clean, and we couldn't be happier. I would highly recommend Sierra Landscape Designs. read more

We used Jose in 2021 when we had just purchased our home. He did a beautiful stamped patio that we were very pleased with. When we were ready for the full backyard renovation we wanted to work with him again. It was a big project including multiple retaining walls. We got multiple quotes over the last couple of years and Jose was always the most reasonable. He and his team did an absolutely fantastic job! Our backyard is unrecognizable from where we started. He did 3 retaining walls, all new fencing, 2 additional side yard patios, a gorgeous custom gas fire pit and grass with irrigation. We appreciated how accommodating he was to our budget. He is incredibly knowledgeable and full of great ideas. We'll use him again for our front yard plans and we tell all of our friends about him. Highly recommend! read more

I needed my outdoor fountain pump replaced, which requires a piece of my vet heavy concrete fountain to be taken off. Jose and one of his worker's came out to do it for me. I'll be using him again for all my landscaping needs in the future. Thanks Jose! read more

We highly recommend Jose and Sierra Landscape Designs. We initially hired Jose about 1 1/2 years ago for a complete backyard renovation. We had a tight budget but Jose was able to work with us to give our family the backyard of our dreams. We added an outdoor bbq, fire pit, overhang and new concrete. We are extremely happy with the end result. Additionally, this past year we hired Jose again to renovate our front yard. It was a complete renovation and again Jose was able to work with our budget to give us an amazing front yard. We have received countless compliments from neighbors about how beautiful it turned out. Jose and crew are super nice and easy to work with and we thank them from our heart for giving our family a home we can enjoy for many years to come. read more

When we 1st met with Jose, we knew he was our guy! We were looking for someone who had a vision for our backyard. We were starting with what we called the "big green blob". It was 1,000 sq ft of unused vertical hillside. We wanted to create an outdoor living space to enhance the full ocean views we enjoy in Summerland. Jose nailed the overall design and he continued to improve it collaboratively as we moved through the project! Selection of materials was top notch, his crew was excellent, price was fair and the process was fluid. The job took longer than expected with all the rain, but the end result, as you can clearly see, was well worth the wait! I highly recommend Sierra Landscape! read more

We hired Jose at Sierra Landscape for an extensive remodel to our backyard this past summer. I had a definite idea of the transformation I wanted and Jose was able to implement perfectly my vision for our yard. He hardscaped the yard adding multiple levels, planter beds were added, a jacuzzi and deck were installed, and lighting completed the job. We are thrilled with the final result! During the project his crew was there on time every day and they cleaned up before leaving every evening. Jose was always available when we reached out to him, he was fair with his pricing, and open to all of our suggestions and ideas. We highly recommend him and are continuing to work with him for our continuing maintenance needs. The renovation added to our home value, but more importantly, it added to our quality of life. read more

Working with Sierra Landscape Design has truly been a pleasure. Jose and his team are extremely responsive, reliable, and our quotes were very reasonable. We've worked with Sierra Landscape Designs on several projects around our home. The first was the installation of a concrete patio and spa to our backyard. The second was a complete overhaul of the back and side yard with new sod installation, updating our irrigation system and all new landscaping. Jose even took the time out of his busy schedule to take me to the nursery so that I could view and touch what flowers and scrubs he thought would work well throughout the yard. He was very knowledgeable in creating a non-toxic beautiful backyard that would be safe for our young toddler. I'm incredibly grateful for his patience with us as this was a new home for my husband and myself and we were often unsure of what we wanted at times. We are very happy with the results and the financial savings we are already seeing on our water bill. We look forward to the next project with Jose. read more

Jose and his crew transformed my backyard into a water-wise, beautiful and nearly maintenance free yard! This was my first landscape project and I can't thank them enough for making it easy and enjoyable! I called several landscaping companies but Jose was the most responsive, upfront, and his bid was VERY competitive! He was also doing my neighbor's back and front yard which looked amazing and so it was an easy decision for me and I am so glad I did! Jose took the time to explain everything, listened to what I wanted and had great ideas along the way to make my dollar stretch more! He also was willing to redo anything I wasn't satisfied with, which I really appreciated. As it was my first time, I kept changing my mind, but Jose and his team made the changes~~ all with a smile ! He strives to make his clients happy and satisfied ~~ You can tell that this is not just a job for him but his passion. Also his crew are the best~~they were so so kind and considerate, and hard working! Kudos all the way! They did it all~patio hardscape, patio cover, fountain, planting, landscape lights~ it is a one stop shop! The team also made two benches from the leftover flagstone which I love! Plus Jose guarantees his work for a year and also provides free maintenance for a month to make sure my plants settle in well in their new home. So I know I can just call him if anything comes up and he will come by to fix it. It is a joy to look out into my backyard now! Jose from Sierra Landscape Designs helped guide us through a backyard hardscape overhaul. Jose Garcia from Sierra Landscape Designs was referred to us by our landscape architect (who is extremely knowledgeable and has a ton of experience with contractors). Jose provided the bid within the estimated budget. We interviewed 5 more contractors for the job but decided to work with Jose as his bid was the most competitive and he had solid portfolio. We already had a design developed by the landscape architect, so working with Jose was easy. He followed the specs to the t, but also offered his advice where he saw an opportunity to save money or improve the outcome. Jose and his team were fast and organized, and stayed within budget. It's clear that Jose likes what he does and is willing to go extra mile to make a client happy. For example, we needed special stone for the seat wall and a fire pit - Jose volunteered to drive to another state and get materials from a local supplier in order to avoid the delays. Overall, we are extremely happy with the final product - our backyard and front yard look beautiful and are very functional. We use our backyard all the time. And now, when we have to spend a lot of time at home due to the pandemic lockdowns, we appreciate it even more. Remodeling one's outdoor space is a great investment in these times. read more

Jose is a really sincere contractor who knows his stuff. When trying to figure out a solution for a retaining wall and trellis, he knew exactly what was needed and did not try to "sell" a more expensive alternative.
