Absolutely Avoid - Unlicensed, Unskilled, and Completely Irresponsible…read more I strongly advise anyone considering this company for roofing work to look elsewhere. They advertise themselves as "roofing experts," but the truth is appalling: surely only one individual on their team, maybe the "boss" is actually licensed for roofing. The rest of the labor is subcontracted to unlicensed, untrained workers - individuals they seem to pick up from street corners or Home Depot parking lots, South American migrants, with no verified experience in roofing or skylight installation. The crew that came to replace my roof was in junk trucks that collect trash items, with no company logos; they spoke no English, the tools they used were a duck taped 2 ladders into one so they can get to the roof and duck taped electric cables to play Latin music while "working". Before leaving the block they collected some of my neighbors trash chairs and baby crib. One of their "bosses" proudly stated they are from Guatemala. Regardless where they are from they had no clue of the job to be done or work ethics. A side note: they ruined my flower beds and plants I had just planted in Spring. I hired the company to replace my roof and skylight because the 2 American gentlemen that came to my door to get my business seemed thrust worthy. I did not go out looking for them, there were other companies coming as well since we just had hail. However, due to their subcontracting, the job was clearly botched. As soon as winter hit -- the first winter after the roof replacement -- the skylight started leaking around the corners of the skylight. Water damage stained the bathroom ceiling, completely ruining the paint and creating the perfect conditions for mold to grow. Despite multiple calls and three return visits where they applied sealant around the skylight (and proudly showed me the caulking tube as if that's a professional solution), they now deny any responsibility. Instead, they're absurdly blaming "temperature changes" -- despite the fact that I've lived in this home for over four years and never had a leak before they touched the roof. They also said it is practically "impossible" to file claim with the skylight manufacturer- no explanation given. Their customer service is dismissive, evasive, and frankly insulting. One of the guys offered me $100. They refuse to fix the damage their shoddy workmanship caused, and it's clear they never intended to stand by their work in the first place. Their practices are shady, their professionalism nonexistent, and their concern for client satisfaction is zero. Clearly, hiring them you get zero warranty on their labor. This company is a textbook example of what happens when you hire people who cut corners, use unqualified labor, and run from accountability. Save yourself the stress, expense, and water damage -- hire a licensed, reputable roofer who takes their craft and clients seriously. I'll be taking legal action.

RPM struggled to fix the leaks, and we will continue to have problems until the gutters are properly repaired. Due to the leaks, the insurance company hired an engineering firm (Rimkus of Willowbrook, IL, Matter No. 100266257) that produced a report detailing RPM's mistakes. As a result of RPM's failure to fix the gutter or reattach them correctly, my family room ceiling had to be removed by a contractor due to water damage. I also had to hire a plumber because RPM initially blamed the plumbing in the bathroom (which is nowhere near the water damage). RPM then claimed it was the chimney, but a chimney expert later confirmed that the chimney was not leaking, though it did need a crown replacement. His words were, "Water does not flow like that." I now have to cover costs for the contractor, a painter (since multiple rooms suffered water damage, which the engineering report also attributed to the roof leaks), and my attic had been treated with mold-resistant coating, which has now become wet due to the leaks. RPM sent two men, Sean and Mike, to assess the damage, but they incorrectly stated the attic was dry. That same morning, the contractor, and later that week the engineer, both observed water. A hole had even been drilled into the bedroom ceiling to allow water to drain down, instead of along the walls where it was originally flowing.

We needed a new bathroom after flooding damage due to a burst pipe. JTAS was selected to do the…read morework. I enjoyed working with the designers and was happy with the final product. However, within 1 year post completion, the tile grout on the curb began to fall out on the outside of the curb. We contacted JTAS to repair. They came out and completed the repair. Within 2 years the grout began to fall out on the shower floor. JTAS came out to look at the damage, but never returned, nor returned calls. My husband repaired as best as he could. A year later the problem got worse with leaking occurring in the ceiling below the shower. And, now the tiles felt boggy when stepped on. Called JTAS to replace the shower floor, which they were amenable to do to the tune of $7,000. They also noted that they no longer install showers that way, due to problems that occurred. I agreed but wanted a 5 year warranty. They refused and would only supply the 1 year warranty. We canceled the project. Since then, we've torn out the shower floor to find the damage was much more severe with a significant amount of mold. Also, they did not install a waterproofing layer, which I found concerning. My biggest beef with JTAS is that they don't stand by their work.

During this process, I verified through state licensing records that Assurance Roofing did not hold an active contractor license. Independent inspectors and my insurance provider confirmed the same issue: improper drainage resulting in water pooling on the roof. These statements reflect the documented facts of my experience with Assurance Roofing.
