Our "premium line" home was constructed with builders' grade double-hung windows, and in winter,…read moreyou could feel cold air shooting up out of the slider track, springs broke constantly, and condensation was a big problem, especially in winter. A friend, who had a high-end house, had his windows and patio door replaced by HomeSealed with Okna products, a brand I had never heard of. I was so impressed with the quality and looks of his windows and patio door, I called HomeSealed and arranged for replacements. I love the windows. It's 0 degrees F right now, and I can run my hand around the windows, and not a draft anywhere. Same with the patio door. The windows are easy cleaning, they lock securely, and the install job was great, with little damage to exiting trim. Great warranty too and an easy online service portal if something is not right. I had rental units and used a discount window company for replacements, and those windows failed frequently. You get what you pay for, and this is an investment that will last many years and pay for itself in fuel savings. If you have the funds for Pella or Anderson's best, you ought to check out Okna. If you're thinking about windows from a big-box store, good luck if there's an install problem, or parts/ warranty service are needed.

Can't frankly say how good they are at the job - because they failed at the sales cycle…read more For four windows in a base configuration, they were north of $14k. To put in perspective: Home Depot installed the highest end Simonton windows possible with the specs requested and came in at around $7k installed. Which means that HomeSealed has excessive profits padded in. So...if you don't care about the money side, they might be perfectly fine to work with as a local outfit. EDIT: laminated was requested as a cost compare option, not a requirement. Even if laminated were a requirement, Home Depot's was still cheaper by over $3k. Fact is - as we said - HomeSealed is just priced higher because they don't use every manufacturer, they only use the ones they use, which tend to lean the higher cost. That's what we said: they might be fine at their job and you might want the best of whatever, maybe they're fine. BUT...if you're like 95% of homeowners who feel that significant pricing differences for basic things like colors is illogical, HomeSealed isn't for you.

I am very pleased with everything. Pete came out in summer to give a quote for tree damage that…read moredestroyed my fence. Do to insurance dragging their feet, finally got approval late fall. I contacted Pete and he said may be spring before they can get out there. I was fine with since winter Wisconsin can do anything. He contacted me in early February and said if weather is still good they will be out in a few weeks. They came out a couple weeks later and did a wonderful job.

I cannot even express in words on how very disappointed we are with the whole process. Pete came…read moreout to scope out the job in April and promised us that they could begin the work in the middle of May. We put down a cash disposit down and waited for the work to start. There was no word from Pete or anyone from their company to keep us updated on what was going on or if there were any delays. I started to call them to get updates and each week they kept telling us there were delays because of the weather. There were only 2 rainy weeks this whole summer. I kept calling them for updates, since they seem to have issues with keeping their customers updated on their own. (Is it that hard to call a customer up and let them know what's going on? If it is, then they need to hire some help and don't let your customers guess and get upset from not knowing what the heck is going on.) Later on I found out from Pete that they ordered the wrong fence panels. We requested the semi privacy panels but they ordered the full solid privacy panels instead. That put them behind another few weeks. Once again I had to keep calling to get more updates. The new panels were finally ready to be installed. They came to our house, dumped the materials on the grass, took a half a day worth of cigarette breaks, then left on a Friday during a rainy weekend with the stuff scattered in the yard. We became very frustrated and called Pete and asked them to comeback and organize the materials so our grass doesn't get destroyed. (Anyone who's ever worked in construction would have known to clean up your work site ESPECIALLY when people are already living there!) Pete came out and cleaned up the mess. He literally asked us, "why are you being like this?" after we told him that this is really unprofessional. After another few weeks the correct panels came and then they got them installed. However... Pete forgot that we wanted the rest of the yard finished up and not just the sides to our neighbors. (This was all written out on the quote that he had a copy of.) Now he had to order more panels and we had to wait another month for them to finish this job. (We are now in September!) Once again I had to call and follow up with him on what was going on. Then they finally finished the job towards the end of September. One side panel set looks unleveled. Pete said that the new 6 ft fence would cover up the chain linked fence on the other side, but it did not cover that up and you could still see it. I offered Pete a way to make things right and give us a discount for the headaches at the end of the job, but Pete said no. We think this review will speak for itself if you want to hire this company or not. I wish I had some positives to say about Roth and Sons, but unfortunately I don't have many, other than Pete's wife Connie was very pleasant to talk to on the phone.
