Takeaway: Save yourself the headache and shop their website instead. -2 out of 3 employees had very little knowledge of what the store carries or just didn't want to help. - Half of my cart was put away, when I walked away for 2 mins -I had to bag some of my purchases myself because the cashier just stopped doing it. She also stopped scanning items shortly after starting because they "only had small bags" instead she walked off for 5 mins to chat with staff. - Other employees became rude and even yelled at us when checkout went past closing. Pretty Cool Store for Active Wear, Hiking, Camping, Mountain Biking and Footwear. Decent pricing on most of the outdoor equipment that they sell. Very competitive to what Dick's Sporting Goods sells. For me the hiking boots here are very inexpensive and I've had them a few months now and they are still very comfortable. Merrell waterproof mid boots for $79.99 can't beat that price for name brand.They sell quality socks here that are very affordable too. Sierra has a wide selection of flash lights and headlamps in a very cool camping section where they also sell outdoor cookery. Prepackaged food stuffs and backpacks and camp bags are sold here as well as outdoor furniture. They also sell some pet supplies like bedding, pet food, and toys for outdoor adventures with your furry family members. read more

Great store for outdoor supplies and clothing. It was well stocked in spite of it being end of season. Plenary of camping gear and accessories, SPF clothing, sunglasses, hats, shoes and a lot more. Staff was helpful and available which is uncommon at these kind of large stores. Not too crowded when we went at around 7pm. We got most of the things on our list at a large discount from retail store prices so I would definitely recommend making this your first stop if you have a few things to get for an upcoming trip. read more

Looking for outdoor gear.....or just something for your pet? This is the store for you! I love this addition to the TJMaxx lineup of stores. They have a huge selection of hiking and running shoes and clothes from all of the major names in outdoor sports at typical Marshalls / HomeGoods prices. They are mostly clothing and shoes, but they do have a small selection of camping gear, food pouches, tents, sleeping bags, stoves, etc. Not as extensive as Campmor or REI, but worth checking out. They also have a large pet area with toys, beds, bowls, treats, and other accessories, all for great prices. I'll definitely shop here if I'm looking for hiking boots or something for the pups. read more

I went to check out this place the other day when I needed to kill some time. The place is pretty cool and it had a pretty good selection of stuff. I wasn't sure what to expect as when I go to camping stores I tend to have a purpose and being part of the tjmax brand I feel like the type of shopping might be close to impulse buying. When I was looking at prices I think there were defiantly some good deals but other things were average price. I do like their selection of dog toy and camping food. I did think they had a good selection of sleeping bags but you need to do homework when buying that. All in all I would go back when I need something and it might be a good place to kill some time. read more

If you want to make a purchase at Sierra in East Hanover tried to avoid the rude floor manager named in i Aly. She would not change the price of an identical pair of shorts that was a lower price and snapped at me and made the excuse that they charge more for different colors, but the wholesale price was the same. She also gave me a hard time about using an employee discount card. I will never shop there again! read more

So this place bills itself as an Outdoors store, for things like camping hiking and so forth. When you get there you realize that they do have a section for this kind of stuff. However, that equipment takes up only about 25% of the store. The rest of the store is clothing and shoes. Oh I almost forgot, there's a large pet section. don't get me wrong the store is kind of nice, I just expected a mini Cabela's, which it isn't. It's more of a Marshalls with some outdoor stuff in it. I don't normally write reviews, especially not negative ones. However the situation that took place last night was not excusable. It was my first time going to a Sierra store. I walked in and there was a woman employee near the front. I politely asked her if they sell something I was looking for. She bluntly said no they are out of stock. I found the response a bit rude and unapologetic, but I thanked her and decided to browse the store anyway since it was my first time there. Another employee walked by me and gave me a rude look. I didn't understand why, so I kept browsing. I was looking at a sale rack, and had been in the store all of 5 minutes, when a third employee came over to me and said very bluntly: it's 9:00 the store is closed. I felt shocked and embarrassed. I didn't know they closed at 9. As I was escorted out of the store in a very rude way, the woman I had spoken to at the front was closing the door as I was trying to leave, and I was being rushed out of the store in a way that was very embarrassing. It felt like a set up. I asked the woman why, since I first walked in 5 minutes ago, she let me in and didn't say anything? Why was the door wide open if the store was closing, no announcements, no flickering lights, no warning that the store was about to close? She bluntly and rudely said the door closes at 9. Why had all 3 employees watched me browse without saying anything for a full 5 minutes only to rudely rush me out 5 minutes later, and further embarrass me by closing the door as I was trying to leave, like they were making it into a scene? I walked back to my car crying, so upset and shocked by the situation and how poorly I was treated. When I got inside my car, the time was 9:01. Clearly 1 minute was more important than treating a customer with respect. This review could have been prevented by a single kind, apologetic, or polite gesture as I was leaving. Here is what the store could have done differently: I would like to have known the store was closing in 5 minutes before walking in, or be prevented from walking in. The woman I spoke to in the front should have told me the store was about to close. The 2nd employee, instead of walking past me giving me a dirty look should have said: the store is about to close, is there anything I can help you with last minute? Before the third employee ever came over to me, there should have been some kind of warning, announcement, something like: attention shoppers, the store is closing, something that prevents embarrassing situations where individual shoppers are singled out. The 3rd employee should have been respectful and said something like: I'm sorry, the store is closed now, but we would love to have you back a different day. I would have liked to leave the store in a way that made me feel like a positive valued customer, instead of having the doors closed and embarrassed as I'm trying to leave, and made to feel like I am being rushed out of their store like a criminal or something, where I was afraid they might call the cops if I stayed until 9:02. I try to treat every person I meet with respect, and want to be treated the same way. I didn't know the store closed at 9, and felt I was embarrassed and treated unfairly and rudely. There is no excuse for causing a polite customer who comes to a store for the first time, to walk away crying. I am writing this review so that future customers can be spared the embarrassment, and management can take steps to remedy this situation. Thank you. read more

customer service suks, if you order online, don't expect your merchandise any time soon, it takes them over a week to actually ship your order plus the actual transit time of your merchandise, and you may not even get all of the items you ordered. i placed 3 separate orders within 2 months period and all 3 orders took over one week to process and ship. 2 of the orders shipped out incomplete... just horrible customer service, supervisors not available and don't return your phone calls. read more
