The main thing to keep in mind before shopping here is that literally NOTHING they sell has ever seen the inside of a regular Saks 5th Avenue store. They are loaded with Steve Madden, Original Penguin, Karl Lagerfeld, Super Dry and a plethora of other brands that have absolutely no reason whatsoever to be sold under the Saks banner.
On my last visit there was a small showcase with a hodgepodge collection of Gucci accessories including some mismatched gloves, a knit hat and a bunch of other things that I assume couldn't be retailed at full price. But that's it, end of story. And while the staff is quite helpful this more resembles a TJ Maxx or Marshall's than an incarnation of their far superior sibling.
I used to shop at their Paramus location every so often. Same situation there but there were at least a few racks of clothing that were actually upscale designer and a rack or two of Ferragamo shoes. Not so here. I guess their demographic model is flawed because I think that the local clientele, with proximity to the Short Hills Mall is at least a bit better educated than to be fooled by this collection of crap.
If anyone is looking for a bargain in true designer apparel or accessories, I would recommend looking just about anywhere else. And while I have been there 6 or 7 times, I've yet to spend a dime or even find anything worth purchasing. read more
