My daughter has been waiting two long years to see the Bob's Burgers movie, and today is the day we see it at Sierra Cinema in Ruidoso, NM! We always enjoy this theater. It's roomy, exceptionally clean, and the staff is very helpful and welcoming! Their popcorn is delicious too. The seats are nice. Confessions closes at 8!? Crazy to me. And it was really hard to order the tickets on their system. It's very old. The movie has a scratch on theater 2 and it's not that big a screen. Disappointing in many ways. read more

Recliners were roomy and comfortable. Very clean. Sound and vishal quality were good. We enjoy this movie theatre when we come here in the summer. I heard a little noise from the other theatre before the movie started, but not during the feature. read more

This is absolutely the worst movie theater I've ever been to. Short Version: 1) Price gouging/over priced tickets, food, and drinks. $8.25 for candy. 2) Dirty screen that had 4 to 5 black smudge/scratch marks on it. 3) Thin walls where you can hear people in the next room over as well as all the audio and sub woofers/vibrations from the movie playing in the next room. 4) Holes/stains in the ceiling which haven't been fixed. 5) Uncomfortable chairs. My butt was literally hurting during the film. 6) Dirty bathrooms. 7) Seat reservations are now being sold so it's a waste of time showing up when people can claim the best seats by purchasing tickets online in advance or by showing up several hours in advance. 8) It's winter (day after Christmas) yet they still had the AC on during the movie so I could feel an extremely uncomfortable cold breeze blowing against me the entire film duration. 9) Some old guy that smoked his entire life brought his oxygen tanks with him and was coughing the entire time during the movie at regular intervals. It's sad that these type of people are allowed in when they clearly ruin the experience for everyone else with their constant coughing. I don't recommend this place at all. Sadly, it's the only option in Ruidoso but you're better off spending your money elsewhere or going out to eat instead. I'd imagine waiting until the movie comes out on dvd/blu-ray etc and watching it in comfort of your own home would be more enjoyable. You'd easily avoid all the loud inconsiderate people at the movie theatre, the thin walls/smudges, and the over priced food/drinks by doing so. Long Version: They price gouge on everything. The tickets are way too overpriced and so is the food/drinks. Nachos are $5, popcorn is close to $5 for 1 small bag, drinks are watered down and around $5, the candy somehow costs the most at $8.25 which is ridiculous. They even have signs up saying no "outside food/drinks/snacks allowed." But with prices like that I wouldn't be surprised if people sneak in food/drinks and I don't blame them. The actual movie theater is poorly managed and looks extremely old. It still has the same look from when I first moved here with my family almost 20 years ago. It needs some serious renovations which they can clearly afford with all that price gouging. Plus Allen theaters opened up a new movie theater in Alamogordo so they can clearly afford it... The screen had 4 to 5 black marks on the right hand side which ruined how the movie looked. I went here to watch Jumanji: The Next Level with my family and we were disappointed. The walls are ultra thin. We could hear the audio for Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker playing in the next room as well as the sub woofers/vibrations. At times we could even hear the audience from the next room over. The chairs are old and uncomfortable. The ceiling had holes in it and water/leaking stain marks. The bathrooms looked old and dirty. It's really amazing how they haven't renovated any of these problems when they're making thousands of dollars daily off of movies and overpriced food/drinks. When I first moved here with my family about 20 years ago they had some of the same issues way back then and now it's gotten even worse. The movie viewing experience was ruined by the thin walls, the black smudge marks on the screen, the AC running while it's winter, uncomfortable chairs, and some very inconsiderate old guy that was clearly a smoker his entire life that was coughing the entire duration of the film. I highly advise people avoid this place like it's the plague. It's not worth it. I'll definitely think twice before coming here again to watch a movie with my family. If you're in Ruidoso, this is your only option for a place to see a handful of movies. For what it is, it works, but the walls are thin enough to hear movies playing elsewhere. But hey, it's relatively cheap and a decent option if you're in town. read more

A little respect can go a long way. I've been to this theatre several times and today was the first time I've encountered a major problem. Unfortunately it negated the two good times. I arrived at 2:50 to see a movie which was listed to start at 3:20. Apparently the showing before mine had started late and the theatre wasn't open for seating until 3:15. At 3:25 the commercials for local businesses started and ran like normal. I inquired of the girl working the register if there was a way to skip them since the movie was already late. She didn't know. At about 3:45 trailers began playing in 3D. I went out to inquire since it was not a 3D showing and was told they'd "fix it or bring (us) glasses." During the second trailer the screen went black and then local commercials started again. At that point the movie was over 30 minutes late to start so I went to request a refund. The boy working the register did not know what to do and said I'd need to speak to his boss. I waited patiently until the original girl working the register returned. I asked for a refund and was told that was not possible but that she could give me passes for another showing. I asked again explaining why I felt it was a justified exception to the policy and was told that she could have me removed from the theatre at any time she wanted. I asked for the manager's number and she hesitated to give it to me. She eventually did. I asked for the manager's name and she smiled as she told me she was the manager and her name was Monique. I asked for the owner's name and Monique obliged. I told her I'd be contacting the owner and then accepted the passes. I wouldn't be writing this review if there had been an ounce of sympathy, a bit of an apology for the horrible situation today, and a little respect for the customer. read more

I was in town visiting with my girlfriend, and we decided to try to see a movie. Found this theater and assumed it would be satisfactory, I was wrong. After we bought our tickets, we went into the designated theater only to find that you can hear every loud vibration from the theater adjacent to it. You always can't escape the sound anywhere. I am not a fan of hearing two movies while watching one so we decided to leave. To make matters worse, the girl at the front told us they aren't "allowed" to give refunds. Even though the scheduled movie hadn't started. We were given "rainchecks" even though we don't live here and would not want to see a movie here because of the atrocious audio problems. Do yourself a favor and skip this simpleton run movie theater. Save yourself the headache from dealing with the low iq workers and losing your money. read more
