Sitting is family style on long picnic tables that are assigned so you get to meet other families too. Meal size is plenty with seconds available for the larger appetites- only a handful of folks chose to go for seconds. The cowboy coffee isn't great but hey it's a chuckwagon meal so I can't sing them for that. No alcohol is served- and that's a blessing since I would of been singing along with the very entertaining band. No one in their right mind would pay to hear me sing and I don't want to hear other non-talented folks singing either. I must share this blue grass band has it all. From the fiddle and bass, banjo and guitar. A bit of yodeling and more! We're counting the days to the winter show! Ignore the bad reviews and buy your tickets now! ...for those that care the toilet faculties are accessible and clean, the parking safe and plenty. A fat tire wheel chair will get you everywhere, scooters would have limited access, but you can still get to the dining hall. The theater can also be rented out for special events. Alamogordo Music Theatre performs musicals here twice a year. The building was originally a movie theater, that has been converted and gradually improved over the years. The technical equipment (sound, lighting, stage) is somewhat bare-bones but adequate. All the seats are good, but the center orchestra seats toward the front are the best. The theater also puts on a series of tailgate concerts every summer at the New Mexico Museum of Space History. Ticket prices are reasonable ($10-$40), in part because the theater is a non-profit and is subsidized by generous local financial support.

We brought friends from Lubbock who were visiting us and chose Farley's because of all the TVs and the expectation that we could watch the Texas Tech football game. When we arrived, we were initially told the game would be on every TV. Then we were told they might not have the channel. Finally, we were simply told they weren't changing a TV. There are TVs everywhere in this restaurant, and there were maybe 15 customers in the entire place. We waited approximately 15-20 minutes trying to get someone, an employee or manager, to help us before finally walking out. The most frustrating part wasn't even the football game. It was the complete lack of effort to accommodate customers who were trying to spend money in your establishment. We weren't asking for every TV to be changed, we were asking for one. As longtime Ruidoso homeowners, we love bringing our friends from Lubbock here and supporting local businesses. Unfortunately, Farley's will no longer be one of them, and we certainly won't be recommending it to our friends and family back home. Customer service matters. Listening to your customers matters.
