When I was ready to enroll my children in Taekwondo I never had to look around at any other school in Napa because I knew they would be going to Sidekicks! I had heard nothing but positive comments from other families and I knew I wanted them at a school that was going to be a positive experience. Sidekicks has now become our second home and there is no other place I would rather be! Mr. Weber and his staff are excellent mentors for my children to look up to. Working with children, teens and adults can be very hard sometimes and yet they manage to bring their professionalism and knowledge and share it with the community. Not only do they operate Sidekicks but they also participate in outside charities, tournaments, hold fundraisers, and special activities to do with Sidekick families. Mr. Weber, Judy, Meaghan, Brandon and Rhamsey are like family to me and I really hate to see a negative comment about something that was obivisouly between you and Sidekicks. I very, very highly doubt that you were verbally attacked by anyone at Sidekicks. They are a great group of instructors who wouldnt hurt a fly, let alone, use any form of verbal abuse towards anyone! To me, it seems like you are the type of person who wont be happy unless you get your way, unfortunately for you those type of people dont belong at Sidekicks. I'm sorry you feel the way you do, however, the one who will suffer will be your child or children, because you will not find any better school in Napa. Sidekicks will still remain a POSITIVE learning environment, with wonderful instructors who care about their families and very well managed. My son has been attending Sidekicks since he was 4 years old and is now 15. I cannot put into words how grateful I am for this school. Through all the stages that my son went through Sidekicks managed to help me keep him on the straight and narrow. Some positives that have come from his journey at Sidekicks: #1.) a higher GPA than most boys his age and a respect for school. #2.) Complete and total fitness #3.) confidence and many many gold medals in sparring and forms #4.) a bond that cannot be broken between he and Mr. Weber #5.) responsibility & dedication. I love this school for its traditional values and strong competitiveness. Any other place in Napa, would never suffice. I have seen red and black belts come out of other schools that do not have half of the knowledge or technique that a Sidekicks GREEN belt would. They take the time to perfect every technique and make every student an athlete. Not just a belt color. We looked into a couple other schools but didn't find a good fit until sidekicks. It wasnt just about martial arts but about life. Mr Weber sits with the kids and talks about life lessons they will encounter. Our son has been going to sidekicks since little warriors (4-5yrs) and has worked his way up to his green belt. This is another part of sidekicks I appreciate is that belts are truly earned not given, at all levels. You can't buy your belt it must be earned by proving you know the techiques but also have the right attitude and commitment. I have watched my son gain confidence in a positive enviornment through the example of Mr. Weber, Brandon, Meaghan and Rhamsey. It is great that our son can see where he will be if he continues to work hard because his instructors have done what he is doing and their instructor Mr. Weber is teaching from experience as well. I highly reccomend sidekicks for people of all ages and especially kids. The principles that are taught are lacking in the world today but not at sidekicks. My daughter has been at Sidekicks for 2 years now. She has learned respect and self-confidence and discipline. The instructors at Sidekicks have always been great with helping all the students in their class learning proper form and techniques. This school is different from many others as in they do not have you test for a higher belt color unless you have earned it. Not by coming to every class, but by learning and mastering. If you want your child to be a black belt in 2 years, this is not the school for you. But what sidekicks offers that is different is the most awesome demo team. The kids that are on this team are dedicated and it shows. Their competition team has national champions. We are return customers to Sidekicks Martial Arts Center. We began with our oldest child several years ago, who after giving tae kwon do a try, just was not interested. Despite our child's obvious lack of interest, the staff at Sidekicks were always patient and encouraging, and sought ways to engage our child during classes. Because we had such a good experience the first time around, we returned again with our youngest child. This second time could not have been more different: our youngest child absolutely loves tae kwon do, and despite being somewhat shy, is really flourishing under Mr. Weber's instruction. Based on our experiences, we believe that the Sidekicks team works effectively to provide a special environment in which young children can be taught martial arts in a way that is sensitive to different learning styles which allows opportunities for motivated learners to grow without stigmatizing those who are less inclined. read more

This school is outstanding and the best in Napa Valley. If you or your kids want to succeed in martial arts, this is the place to go. The instructors are true professionals, patient with the students and go above and beyond to make sure the students succeed. My kids have been coming here for 7 years now and within that time, they have competed in nationals 3 times and won. My kids are more confident and respectful. They not only teach Taekwondo but they also teach them, Brazilian jujitsu, kick boxing, MMA, Boxing. I bought a month of lessons at a school auction and literally had to drag my daughter to the first class. She isn't comfortable with new things and was crying when she took her first step on the mat. She was crying with joy when she stepped off the mat that day excited to return for another lesson. That was 18 months and 5 belts ago. Staff and class mates have always been very supportive. My daughter had some anger issues which is why we started her in Taekwondo. Mr Webber and Ms Megan have helped a lot in her being able to control her anger through their positive attitude and teaching self discipline. We have had our son (currently age 5) at Sidekicks for about 2 years and have been very pleased with the lessons he has learned and the body awareness/balance he has discovered. I have my daughter currently enrolled in this school. She was having a rough time at school with self confidence. Because of the incredible staff at this school, my daughter is beginning to have the self confidence that is needed in today's society. Both of my kids love it as soon as they get out of school the first thing they ask is how long till Taekwondo class starts, and there now offering a kid pick up service it doesn't get easier than that !! Sidekicks Martial Arts is wonderful for giving your kids a workout and giving them a sense of discipline and respect. I particularly love how they answer their instructors, with a respectful "Yes, Ma'am" or "Yes, Sir."
