When I was ready to enroll my children in Taekwondo I never had to look around at any other school in Napa because I knew they would be going to Sidekicks! I had heard nothing but positive comments from other families and I knew I wanted them at a school that was going to be a positive experience. Sidekicks has now become our second home and there is no other place I would rather be! Mr. Weber and his staff are excellent mentors for my children to look up to. Working with children, teens and adults can be very hard sometimes and yet they manage to bring their professionalism and knowledge and share it with the community. Not only do they operate Sidekicks but they also participate in outside charities, tournaments, hold fundraisers, and special activities to do with Sidekick families. Mr. Weber, Judy, Meaghan, Brandon and Rhamsey are like family to me and I really hate to see a negative comment about something that was obivisouly between you and Sidekicks. I very, very highly doubt that you were verbally attacked by anyone at Sidekicks. They are a great group of instructors who wouldnt hurt a fly, let alone, use any form of verbal abuse towards anyone! To me, it seems like you are the type of person who wont be happy unless you get your way, unfortunately for you those type of people dont belong at Sidekicks. I'm sorry you feel the way you do, however, the one who will suffer will be your child or children, because you will not find any better school in Napa. Sidekicks will still remain a POSITIVE learning environment, with wonderful instructors who care about their families and very well managed. Discipline, Honor, Courage, and Respect is what Sidekicks is all about! (Laura, maybe you should have learned those words and took them to heart like the rest of the Sidekicks families) read more

My son has been attending Sidekicks since he was 4 years old and is now 15. I cannot put into words how grateful I am for this school. Through all the stages that my son went through Sidekicks managed to help me keep him on the straight and narrow. Some positives that have come from his journey at Sidekicks: #1.) a higher GPA than most boys his age and a respect for school. #2.) Complete and total fitness #3.) confidence and many many gold medals in sparring and forms #4.) a bond that cannot be broken between he and Mr. Weber #5.) responsibility & dedication. I love this school for its traditional values and strong competitiveness. Any other place in Napa, would never suffice. I have seen red and black belts come out of other schools that do not have half of the knowledge or technique that a Sidekicks GREEN belt would. They take the time to perfect every technique and make every student an athlete. Not just a belt color. On a side note: Having known Mr. Weber for over 10 years, I know that he would never verbally attack anybody. Some people just cannot be pleased. read more

We looked into a couple other schools but didn't find a good fit until sidekicks. It wasnt just about martial arts but about life. Mr Weber sits with the kids and talks about life lessons they will encounter. Our son has been going to sidekicks since little warriors (4-5yrs) and has worked his way up to his green belt. This is another part of sidekicks I appreciate is that belts are truly earned not given, at all levels. You can't buy your belt it must be earned by proving you know the techiques but also have the right attitude and commitment. I have watched my son gain confidence in a positive enviornment through the example of Mr. Weber, Brandon, Meaghan and Rhamsey. It is great that our son can see where he will be if he continues to work hard because his instructors have done what he is doing and their instructor Mr. Weber is teaching from experience as well. I highly reccomend sidekicks for people of all ages and especially kids. The principles that are taught are lacking in the world today but not at sidekicks. Respect, Commitment, no handouts! read more

My daughter has been at Sidekicks for 2 years now. She has learned respect and self-confidence and discipline. The instructors at Sidekicks have always been great with helping all the students in their class learning proper form and techniques. This school is different from many others as in they do not have you test for a higher belt color unless you have earned it. Not by coming to every class, but by learning and mastering. If you want your child to be a black belt in 2 years, this is not the school for you. But what sidekicks offers that is different is the most awesome demo team. The kids that are on this team are dedicated and it shows. Their competition team has national champions. All of the instructors (Matt Weber, Judy Ford, Brandon Andrews, Meaghan Ford, Bere) are complete professionals and are true role models and hero's to all the students that are there. There is no other school that I would sent my daughter to and we are so fortunate to part of the family at Sidekicks! #sma read more

We are return customers to Sidekicks Martial Arts Center. We began with our oldest child several years ago, who after giving tae kwon do a try, just was not interested. Despite our child's obvious lack of interest, the staff at Sidekicks were always patient and encouraging, and sought ways to engage our child during classes. Because we had such a good experience the first time around, we returned again with our youngest child. This second time could not have been more different: our youngest child absolutely loves tae kwon do, and despite being somewhat shy, is really flourishing under Mr. Weber's instruction. Based on our experiences, we believe that the Sidekicks team works effectively to provide a special environment in which young children can be taught martial arts in a way that is sensitive to different learning styles which allows opportunities for motivated learners to grow without stigmatizing those who are less inclined. read more

I bought a month of lessons at a school auction and literally had to drag my daughter to the first class. She isn't comfortable with new things and was crying when she took her first step on the mat. She was crying with joy when she stepped off the mat that day excited to return for another lesson. That was 18 months and 5 belts ago. Staff and class mates have always been very supportive. My daughter had some anger issues which is why we started her in Taekwondo. Mr Webber and Ms Megan have helped a lot in her being able to control her anger through their positive attitude and teaching self discipline. There are many levels involvement from going to two classes a week, demo team to sparing in tournaments. read more

This school is outstanding and the best in Napa Valley. If you or your kids want to succeed in martial arts, this is the place to go. The instructors are true professionals, patient with the students and go above and beyond to make sure the students succeed. My kids have been coming here for 7 years now and within that time, they have competed in nationals 3 times and won. My kids are more confident and respectful. They not only teach Taekwondo but they also teach them, Brazilian jujitsu, kick boxing, MMA, Boxing. My daughter has been going to Sidekicks since she was 4 years old in the "Little Warrior" program. She is now 13 and continues to enjoy her experience at Sidekicks. Matt Webber is wonderful with the children and teaches them discipline, focus and respect for themselves and others. The kids learn that they must earn their belts and not just advance without effort and how they can apply that idea the rest of their life goals. Matt Webber truly cares about his students and will listen to them with a concern or question. My daughter has benefited from being a part of Sidekicks and I'm very happy she has had the opportunity to be there. Thank you Matt for your continued work with our kids! read more

I have been proud to have my son learn Taekwondo at Sidekicks for a number of years now. Self-discipline, confidence, honor and respect are the principals that Matt Webber and his accomplished staff teach and instill in his students. Classes are just the beginning of what is offered. Sidekicks offers camps several times of year, sparring practice multiple days a week, forms and the opportunity for students to join the Sidekicks martial arts demonstration team. My son has benefitted greatly from earning each belt by being challenged and learning important life lessons about grit, perseverance, goal setting, building self esteem, empathy and respect for others. read more

We have had our son (currently age 5) at Sidekicks for about 2 years and have been very pleased with the lessons he has learned and the body awareness/balance he has discovered. We appreciate that they take their belt levels seriously and treat even the youngest kids as equals to the older. They have high expectations for all the students and the instructor's commitment to the sport is amazing. It is a very great addition to our son's life and also a great contrast/balance to the experience he has at pre-school and kindergarten. We have always been treated with respect and kindness by all employees of Sidekicks. Our family highly recommends this business! read more

I have my daughter currently enrolled in this school. She was having a rough time at school with self confidence. Because of the incredible staff at this school, my daughter is beginning to have the self confidence that is needed in today's society. The school offers sparring, forms, and most important, self defense. They also offer an amazing demonstration team that performs throughout the Napa valley. I would highly recommend this school for children of all ages. By the way, I feel that I should mention, that this school is meticulous in its cleanliness. Thanks for reading, TB read more

He encourages each and every kid to do their best. So happy to have found him. read more

Sidekicks Martial Arts is wonderful for giving your kids a workout and giving them a sense of discipline and respect. I particularly love how they answer their instructors, with a respectful "Yes, Ma'am" or "Yes, Sir." Learning Taekwondo increases their self-confidence and provides a way for them to stand up for themselves. It is also a great sport and after school activity. Definitely can recommend it, especially if your child has extra energy! read more

My son has been going to Sidekicks for 5 years, since he was 3. He has taken part in just about all of the different programs they offer. Besides what he has learned about martial arts and self defense, I believe his time at Sidekicks has helped him learn to focus, show respect, and self control. He also learns to work hard to reach goals, every belt is a real accomplishment for him. read more
