I'll get to the food next. The highest I would give this place if the food was perfect is a 3.5/5. That is because of the parking situation. This place has no dedicated parking. The parking lot in front of the building is $5 for a 0 minute stay. The adjacent parking garage is free for the first 15 minutes but at least in my case, it took them longer than that to make the food. I'm not a big fan of places that won't spring the week extra few bucks for dedicated parking for their customers. I've only seen a couple restaurants that do this. Including this one. As for the food.... Meh... The chicken was thin, dry, and hard. The fries were wet, limp, and greasy. And the total for the dry sandwich and wet fries was $14 and change. Anyone when has ever been to Scoville Chicken would consider this place offensive. Or even Chick Fil A on a good day. Sidechick! The homemade ranch dressing is what did it! OMFG! The Fried Green Tomatoes with the homemade ranch is what really set this meal off. It was the perfect compliment. I stopped in on New Year's Eve, right before I hit a friend's party and ended up passing out in the bathroom, but I remember this experience vividly. I appreciate you putting my lettuce, tomatoes, and onions on the side as the bread and chicken can become soggy when these items are placed on the actual sandwich for too long. One of the best chicken sandwiches I've ever had. It was a light fry, not greasy or overly breaded. Didn't leave you feeling sick afterwards like other fried chicken can do. It was juicy, tender, and crispy. And they had the BEST sauces. highly recommend the sweet potato fries as well. Came here based on the reviews and while it was good, a few things made our visit less than ideal. First off parking is not easy, there is either a lot with parking for $5 or nearby street parking for $3/hour. The inside is nothing special and quite small, I assume a lot of people do takeaway. It was completely empty when we arrived at 3pm on a weekday. We had the Hot chick, fried buffalo chicken sandwich with bluecheese, it was spicy and delicious. We also had the Georgia chick which was fried chicken with peaches and goat cheese. It was tasty but the chicken was dry. We also opted for fries instead of chips for both sandwiches, although the up-charge is just the price is fries as a side item, which is odd. The location is a bit tricky, but once you find it, it's almost a sanctuary for great company and DELICOUS food. I mean you can't make bad choices here. They have sweet potatoes chips or you can get them in waffle fries. Like... Yes please! I tried the Cuban Chick and it was better than I expected. The mustard atop of the pickled cucumbers (they weren't pickles bc they were still crunchy) really makes the thick slice of bacon and juicy shredded chicken the true STARS. So good. My husband ordered the Canadian Hot Plate. He mentioned that the cornbread pancakes are more cakey and break apart easily but besides that everything tasted really well together. By far one of the best fried chicken sandwiches I have ever tasted. This hidden gem is located in the Decatur area on the backside of a bank building. Totally easy to miss but worth the hunt. The restaurant is pretty small, only a few booths and a couple of tables. When I got there, I was greeted immediately and was assisted with the menu as it was my first time there. I decided to go with the original, The Sidechick! Perfectly fried golden brown juicy chicken breast with a sauce that's out of this world! After finding out about this place on instagram maybe a month ago, I finally got a chance to try it out today and it did not disappoint! On the day after Irma, my friend and I came in to find one valiant guy taking orders, preparing food, and overall holding the place down alone since his partner couldn't make it in today. He warned us that our food would be about 10 minutes, but really it was a quick and pleasant wait, and totally worth it. We both got the sidechick sandwich with the sweet potato waffle fries, and both were amazing. For the sandwich, the Holeman + Finch bun was buttery and fresh, the chicken was seasoned and fried well, the pickles were perfect thin salty slices, and some shredded lettuce and onion added a crisp fresh bite through all the richness. The sweet potato waffle fries were thinner and more delicate than other waffle fries I've had before, making them wonderfully crispy - maybe the best sweet potato fries I've had. The place isn't in the most visible spot, being off Decatur square and on the backside of an office building - you definitely have to know it's there to find it - but it's perfectly accessible and right next to a garage that has free parking for the first hour on weekdays, which is all you need to grab a quick lunch there. Also I think they're on Grubhub, Zifty, and the guy we talked to today said they're working on Uber Eats too. These guys are doing everything right, and I really want them to do well!
