My least favorite Sidecar. Very limited seating. Like maybe 8 seats you can sit in. The one time I was in, the gal taking my order was rude. They seemed overwhelmed with the drive-through/cafe service. I will not be back to that location. Campustown sidecar is the best as far as ambiance and friendly staff. read more

Decent coffee but they must boil it because it's always way too hot and takes a good amount of time to cool before you can drink it. This is less egregious when you have a fancier drink, but getting a black coffee from there can be dicey. Coffee is best when brewed or poured at the correct temperature. I think researching and fixing this issue would be super helpful. I'm very happy there's a local chain being successful, but it would be great to have drinkable coffee as soon as you get it. Speedy in and out on a Tuesday morning. This was my first visit to a Sidecar coffee. I was at the dentist office next door and decided to treat myself after my appointment. There were a couple cars in the drive through but I decided I would go inside. I was immediately greeted by 3 employees busily working. I was the only customer inside. The store was clean inside and simply decorated. I ordered an iced black coffee. No sweetener or flavors. For a large it was $4.25. Less than Starbucks. By the time I was finished paying my drink was ready and I was out the door. Quick and easy and the staff was polite. Every coffee shop has different flavor. And when drinking coffee black with no added flavor I appreciate the different roasts. This coffee was unique and delicious. Some coffee roasts taste burnt and like ash trays. This is not one of them! I would go again. And it is satisfying to support local businesses. read more

tis the season! i stopped in for a spontaneous coffee right before closing. decided to grab an eggnog latte and quite honestly i'm not impressed. however, Sidecar does have very tasty coffee. i am a fan of their iced caramel lattes. they offer almond and soy milk for dairy alternatives at an up charge [we don't love that but what can you do?] anywho, my friend went with a chai latte and wasn't over the moon about it. she says Cafe Diem has better [see my Cafe Diem review] she also does not recommend their basil lemonade. the vibe is super chill. there's four tables, two bars and two comfy chairs. there's space for working in groups and hanging out or working alone at the bar. the music adds an intimate feeling when visiting after dark. it's unobtrusive and allows for easy, normal level conversations. all in all, if you need a quick pick me up, roll through the drive thru and buy something basic, you can't go wrong there. read more

The baristas here are so rude after coming many days in a row and spending $30+ every day. Their drinks taste different every time you order them and if you don't like it they won't remake it. Lovely location. Same coffee options as other sidecars, no alcohol here. I believe this is the place where they make all cooked/baked goods for all their locations. Nice staff, also the only sidecar that has a drive through. This is my second time here, or it looks clean, background music not loud, friendly staff. All in all good place to get some coffee, chill, and/or get some laptop work done. read more

Stopped in for a cup of coffee and got a pour over of their Ethiopian Guji. The coffee was juicy, fruity and well balanced which is a sign of a well trained roaster and barista. The staff was friendly and chatted with me about coffee for a bit. I came back the next day to try their Tanzanian pour over option and enjoyed that cup as well. I'd be a regular if I lived in the Waterloo/Cedar Falls area. Keep up the good work, Sidecar! read more

Really great customer service, offering a creative drink menu. Their espresso machines are newer and as such they use a microfoam technique which adds more volume to the milk as it steams, leaving the bubbles velvety smooth. I'm pretty basic and I usually get pumpkin chai, it's incredible. read more

After being disappointed that the first location wasn't actually a coffee shop I loaded this on into the gps. Being from out of town I rely on yelp to help me find non-chain coffee shops. Based on reviews Sidecar was jut first choice. Location was easily found, shop was clean and pleasingly decorated. The staff was pleasant and looked exactly like I would expect to see in a coffee shop. The coffee, however, was only just mediocre. I got a mocha--which is always my litmus test. The coffee was a bit over roasted and tasted the tiniest bit burnt. The mocha syrup is far to sweet and commercial tasting for my liking. I prefer darker, less sweet, but richer chocolate. I am a coffee snob labeled by my better half and I have access to some of the best coffee in Kansas City so my standards are very high. read more

Went thru the drive-thru to grab a coffee last week. Menu contained a digital screen that ran thru some seasonal drinks, etc. Unfortunately, the seasonal drinks were names only, no description. Also, I could barely read the sign due to the angle of the sun at sunset due to the reflective nature of the screen. When the girl asked for my order, I asked what one the seasonal drinks actually was, and she was audibly annoyed. So i ordered anyways and made my way up to the window. Now she was visibly annoyed, for no reason. If you don't like your job, find a different place to work! At $5 per drink, give some decent customer service! read more

They have some of the best blackberry flavoring for their coffee! I also enjoyed the cheese puff pastries and cinnamon rolls. They are close to a very nice little park around the corner for picnics and they have a clean calm atmosphere in their cafe. I've never been disappointed and the staff is very friendly! read more
