Came in a little early on Friday afternoon clearly they were getting set for dinner. We went ahead and sat at the bar and ordered drinks while cruising the menu. We each had a specialty drink off the menu and could only say that they were amazing! For dinner I had the brisket sandwich and husband had the ribs! I ate half the sandwich he finished it up super stacked awesome tender yummy brisket! We also had a onion ring basket and Thank God, beer battered is here!!!! Great hand made onion rings. Racist establishment. Shift manager Friday (08 Mar 2019 @ 7:45pm) told me to leave after not serving me at the bar, assuming that I want a drink to go. As I stood at the bar waiting to be asked if I wanted help I watched her pass me by asking others do they want to be help skipping over me. After I addressed her after she blatantly discriminated against me she told me to leave. So, for all people of color I suggest stay away from this establishment. My coworker and I visited this location for dinner after work in the Sumter area. I really like the charm of the downtown area. The service was great. There was a few vegetarian items on the menu for my coworker, and I had the pulled pork sandwich. The food was prepared exceptionally well. It arrived hot and full of flavor. I was really satisfied with the food and wasn't so in love with the drinks. The venue was clean and appeared to be well kept. The patio was also really nice if you're a patio person. I brought a friend here for dinner who had never been. I've been a few times and the service has always been just "okay" but decided to try it once more. We walked in and there was no staff to be seen so we ended up seating ourselves inside. After about 10 minutes of no one coming to our table, I got up and went to the bar to ask for service. A girl finally brought over menus, she didn't apologize for the wait or seem to care. We placed our orders which took awhile. I was without tea the entire time, she never came back to refill until way later. Once we were done we asked for the check, she brought it out and then disappeared for another 20 minutes. I was looking to see where she had gone and she was behind the bar checking her phone. I have worked in the restaurant industry before and this is unacceptable. The front of the house staff (grace, allexis, Mira, amber are rock stars at their job) Peirce the young man that works in the kitchen exceptional fellow) the quality of the food over the past I'd say 2 months has gone down hill. I had the opportunity to speak with Kyle about the quality of food. I'm unsure where this gentleman received his customer service skills from but I thank God everyday for growth 7 years ago I would have cleared this place out. As a customer I e never been spoken to in such a condescending, disrespectful, and churlish manner. I will say the brisket, Mahi, and salads are amazing. But, of a bun is burnt, Cole slaw is less than mediocore , and when these items are reported to said chef, why not just take the constructive criticism, fix it and move on. We came in at 5:15pm and no one greeted us, so I had to ask where we could sit. I had the brisket sandwich, but the brisket was dry and not full of flavor as you would expect in the South. My wife had their burger that was good. Their ketchup is really Smokey and good! The outside dining is neat. The waiter came back right after he dropped off our food, but then never came back until we requested the check. Unless the service and food get better, we won't return... which stinks, because I want to see Main Street businesses succeed. read more

Great atmosphere! It reminds me of a restaurant in Austin, TX. The barbecue is decent and the pizza was a "wow" with every bite! Drinks were good and it's just a fun place to eat. I can see why locals are regulars. The downside is some of the waitstaff have their favorite regulars and really cater to them while neglecting other diners. Overall great dining experience. Third time was NOT the charm. Went back for lunch (was hoping to make this my regular lunch time stop on Wednesday's when I volunteer near downtown). Asked for sweet potato fries. Received regular fries. Said something. Server did offer to correct it. I said forget about it. I didn't want the food wasted. ( I just left volunteering at a Food Bank. I wouldn't say We hated it but we definitely won't be returning. My husband and I finally made our way down there tonight, after saying for months we should go there. We Walked in and were confused at first about how seating went as there was no Greeting from anyone. The place wasn't busy so we sat ourselves inside by the bar hoping that's what we were supposed to do. After about an 8-10 minute wait, long enough to make my husband want to go down the street to JO Grady's, a server came up and asked for our drink order. We ordered our drinks and I had some questions about the menu. Our server was polite and answered all our questions but failed to tell us when we inquired that sides were extra. Typically the server will let you know that it's not included in the price. I ordered a Sumter Burger at $6 and asked for a salad as opposed to an order of fries etc. The salad was an additional $4 and contained only lettuce, one cucumber and one cherry tomato. Our server didn't let me know it was an additional $4. My husband ordered the Brisket sandwich and fries, unbeknownst to him they weren't included with a $10 sandwich that he couldn't eat due to the high amount of fat. The beer he ordered was finished and remained empty for at least 10 mins before the server came back to refill it. My burger tasted frozen and not fresh. The best part of my meal was the $4 lettuce and ranch dressing. The best part of my husbands meal, aside from the beer, was the fries. But that absolute kicker, was when the waitress picked up the check, opened it up in plain view of my husband, rolled her eyes and then proceeded to show the amount left to her to another waitress and rolled her eyes again. I was a server for four years. I never fail to tip and I always base your tip on your performance and Never below 15%. I do NOT appreciate the way she did that. Had the drinks been kept full and the menu been explained better especially after we told her it was our first time, then yea.. she would have gotten a higher tip. read more

Additionally the beer cheese dip was just a processed cheese such as cheese wiz or something from a can plus a little beer. Another person in our party ordered the dips with butter crackers. It was just average dips with ritz crackers. I think this restaurant has failed severely in terms of food. High prices for greasy, salty, processed mediocre food. I wanted to try this place just bc I like being outside. This is a place that I will go to again. I like the atmosphere and being outside. When we first arrived the customer service was kinda sucky, but I guess the chick that was our waitress relaxed and realized we were gonna spend. The guys enjoyed the whiskey menu and I enjoyed the beer menu. The waitress did tell us of the margarita special after we had our drinks. The food....yumm and quite enough. My Bradford Watermelon Mule was the best thing about this experience. My friend was in town from Atlanta so we decided to go to a non chain restaurant. I had the black bean veggie burger, I love veggie burgers. This one was "ok" too burnt around the edges for my taste. Once I got to the middle of the burger the taste was better. They sell their sandwiches/burgers a la cart, I didn't get a side since my friend ordered their Big Daddy special. I'll let her comment on her food. Our service was "ok"... She gave us a GREAT greeting, then it was down hill from there. They have a nice outdoor seating, but we chose to sit indoors to avoid flies. But little did we know there were plenty of flies to fight indoors which made enjoying the dining experience hard. read more

This place was not at all what I expected to find when searching for a beer and dinner in Sumter. They have a really great beer and liquor selection and a decent menu. It's a really kitsch interior, with open shelving for the liquor, exposed wood, and beer bottle chandeliers. It wouldn't be out of place in the hip areas of most larger towns. There were six in our party, and between all of us, we tried most everything on the menu and a large portion of the beers. They have about 10 taps and a full double sided bottled beer menu. There was an older gentleman working behind the bar who was very knowledgeable about the beers and gave great recommendations. They have a great selection of local beers too, which I really appreciated. The food was pretty average- a lot of good bar food like fried pickles and beer pretzels, along with some interesting burgers. I had the burger with pimento cheese and bacon and it was good, nothing spectacular. All the burgers were cooked well done with no temperature option, but they seemed to be hand-packed patties. I tried the pretzel with beer cheese sauce and it was a decent snack, but definitely nothing amazing. Come for the beer / liquor selection; the food is only decent. read more

Yes the food is good, and they have a pretty nice alcohol selection, but everything else this restaurant does make me not want to come back. They only have 2-3 waitresses on duty and they take forever to get your drinks, take your order, and give you your food. Plus, when we got our food is was cold. Don't sit in the outside area if you can(their sitting area is pretty small), it's full of flies that constantly land on your food, drinks, and person. (Plus, they have no lighting in the outside area so at night it gets kinda dark.) Hope this is helpful. read more
