First of all, I love beer. ...The beer here is awesome. Was in town on a Sunday staying downtown and this was the only option, everything else was closed. Beautiful inside but lots of flies. Service was ok, but you have to order at the bar instead of table service...Not crazy about that. We ordered 2 wraps.( gyro and Chicken Caesar) Both came out with the meat inside cold. Be Aware, these wraps do not come with a side!!! I thought they did but they do not, that's on me. I was charged $5.00 for cold tots, could not eat them. The $4.00 coated fries were warm enough, but wouldn't have ordered either one if I knew they weren't included with the sandwich...Again that's on me, but I think a warning from the bartender would have been nice! 2 wraps 2 sides 3 beers 59.40 plus tip Only second time ever I have felt robbed at a restaurant. ...Won't be back. read more

Came South to visit my daughter and the Sumter Original Brewery (SoB) did not disappoint. Great beer selections and the atmosphere was amazing. Three levels with different vibes and enough space to feel connected to the action, yet room to have your own escape Being a first time customer, the trip made me jealous my hometown Brewery doesn't have the same energy. We'll come back each time we come to visit. The SoB Light was their favorite while I enjoyed the 16 Talons IPA Parking on the street was plentiful as well as enormous space on all three levels. We walked from Swan Lake to the brewery, expecting some decent food and some good beer. My wife loved her oatmeal stout, but I tolerated my pale ale. She got a Smashburger which she enjoyed. Her fries were also good. And my brisket sliders were very tasty. The ambience is "big beer hall", which we don't dislike. It seems like it was a converted warehouse or something along those lines, but the space is pleasant, and we like the chairs. The staff was friendly and pleasant! Would recommend. read more

Huge brewery with 3 spacious floors. The first floor has tons of seating, the second has more seating as well as pool tables and games to choose from,while the 3rd floor is a large rooftop space with tons of picnic tables where you can sit to enjoy ypu beer and food. All floors feature a bar, but if you are on the rooftop and order one of their craft sodas, you do have to go back to the frost floor to get it. We used the stairs, but there is an elevator as well. They have a good variety of beers to pick from, and the bartenders are great about letting you sample before ordering. The food is fantastic and priced reasonably. They offer a burger, fries, and beer for $14 on weekends. I had the nachos with shredded chicken, and it is a huge portion for $10! Husband had the new chicken sandwich with pimento and honey and said it was amazing ( and messy). They are very kid and dog friendly,definitely a fun spot to stop while in town. read more

There's some good. Lots that could be improved. The ladies on the first floor were happy to welcome us in and answer questions. Is this a family friendly environment on all floors? Yes Can we order food from all floors? Yes. So we headed to the 3rd floor. Love an opened air roof top bar. But it is LOUD out here. 2 TVs so you can watch the football game if it's on. The guy with the beard and mustache on the third floor is everything the reviews have complained about. I'm not much to jump on a band wagon, but customer service is not in his vocabulary. The order wasn't done correctly. He showed very little interest in paying attention to our order, so we weren't surprised. We had to walk down to the first floor for our son's cherry lime aid. They brought 2 napkins for 6 people. No one gets silverware. He didn't give us a receipt or a number for our table. Our first visit, so we didn't know to ask for it. 2 of our meals came out and 1 didn't. We asked about it then. I was impressed about each level from the 1st level restaurant to the 2nd level game area I assumed. and then the roof awesome view. And my wife's puppy got to go. Which is a huge plus. This place is a pretty cool spot in downtown Sumter. It's right on Main Street and within walking distance of everything in the area. Parking is a bit limited but the Hyatt right next door has a free garage you can park in. The beer was really really good. I had the 16 talons IPA and it rivals one of my favorite, Bound By Time, from Edmunds Oast. The service was awesome. Bartenders were extremely friendly and extremely knowledgeable about their beers and menus. I didn't get to try any of the food, but it was a good time. Definitely a hangout spot for anyone in the area. This is a 3 story establishment, boasting a rooftop with an awesome bar and wrap around patio. They had a 90s rock cover band playing in the evening that put on a great show. The only downside is the staircase can get a bit tight! Outside that, a fun place to hangout and try in the area! read more

Great spot in downtown Sumter! I've been here for Trivia (Wednesday nights), a HIIT workout on the rooftop (Saturday special event), and a few going aways. I love the building - really cool architecture and vibe inside. The rooftop is dope and a lot of fun to hang out on. I'm not a beer expert but the ones I've tried have been great! The variety is excellent. The staff / servers / employees are phenomenal - always kind, helpful, and offering up big smiles! The food is hit or miss: quesadillas, wings and spring rolls are good. Pretzel bites are yummy, if not over cooked. Chicken fingers were a hit with my son but they aren't always available. The hilly cheesesteak was good but I didn't love the beer cheese so maybe go for the provolone ;-) There are pool tables & ping pong & darts & board games & corn hole available! So glad that Sumter has opened its first brewery. The building is HUGE and has three floors each with its own bar! The bottom floor has lots of tables and is set up more like a dining area. The middle floor has a mix of small tables, games, and standing area. While the top floor is the rooftop and is by far my favorite (as long as its not raining). I have enjoyed my time here twice now on two Saturday afternoons. I am drawn here by their Saturday rooftop special which is a beer, a cheeseburger, and fries for $12. There are a few other options to snack on but I always go for the burger deal. The burgers and fries are a pretty big portion so don't worry about being hungry after. The burgers are grilled right on the rooftop so you can smell them as they are cooking. While your mouth is watering from the grilled burger aroma grab your beer off of their tap list that is sure to please any beer drinking pallet. They have a fruity sour, a standard lager, and my favorite; their Mr. Hops IPA along with several others for you to choose from. Sometimes the food takes a little while but enjoy your beer and take the time to relax. read more

Never tried the food. Never even ordered. We went upstairs to eat on the third floor, and was immediately spoken to incredibly rudely by the man behind the bar. His entire demeanor was abrupt, rude, and dismissive. Completely unfriendly towards us, even going so far as to smirk at our reasonable questions. It was so off-putting that we left shortly after. I'm sure the beer must be great and maybe even the food, but you lose customers with employees that treat people as if they are bothersome or stupid. We didn't ask unreasonable things to be treated like that, so we're taking our money down the street to Sidebar, where they have great customer service. read more

I went here reluctantly with family. I know it's a brewery/sports bar, but this is not a clean place. The beer is ok. 1919 is the only one really worth mentioning. I understand that they have a right to operate with whatever safety protocol they choose to elect, but in times of Covid, this is not good for clientele. Tables should be wiped down regularly. This is just a rule of cleanliness. There also did not seem to be any management on site and that is a true shame. The space allows for a truly world class experience. Just not great for what was touted as a revitalizing experience for Sumter's downtown area. It's pretty, if that is consolation. read more

EXTREMELY disappointed in this establishment. I started inquiring a month ago about a gift certificate for my son for his birthday. I left 2 messages on their website, even receiving notification that they had been received, and 3 messages on their answering service, which no one EVER answered the phone OR returned my message. EXTREMElY poor customer service, so I went to Buffalo Wild Wings and bought my $100 gift certificate there. Ok, so the skinny on this place. My friend's really liked the 1919 beer. However, when there are six people behind the bar goofing around and several unclean tables and people waiting. Management need to teach their employees that they are not there to socialize, or goof around, but to take care of customers and bring in money. This is a place I probably won't be back to. Opening a brewery during the CoVid-19 is not an easy task, and I totally understand that. I dropped by on a Saturday wanted to give them support but I was totally dismayed at their pricing on growler fills. They wanted to charge me $26 for a 64-oz growler fill (I brought my own glass). Somehow they believe that they can charge $6 per pint on to-go beer. Most other breweries/brewpubs charge anywhere between $12-16 for a growler. To-go beer is normally discounted, it's not sold at the sit-down bar full price. I will not return, sorry. read more
