Came South to visit my daughter and the Sumter Original Brewery (SoB) did not disappoint. Great beer selections and the atmosphere was amazing. Three levels with different vibes and enough space to feel connected to the action, yet room to have your own escape Being a first time customer, the trip made me jealous my hometown Brewery doesn't have the same energy. We'll come back each time we come to visit. The SoB Light was their favorite while I enjoyed the 16 Talons IPA Parking on the street was plentiful as well as enormous space on all three levels. Friendly customer service and games galore on the second floor was enough to stay entertained for hours. Highly recommend if you're in the area!

Great environment. 3 stories. Outdoor rooftop. Food was quick and delicious. Friendly staff.

We walked from Swan Lake to the brewery, expecting some decent food and some good beer. My wife loved her oatmeal stout, but I tolerated my pale ale. She got a Smashburger which she enjoyed. Her fries were also good. And my brisket sliders were very tasty. The ambience is "big beer hall", which we don't dislike. It seems like it was a converted warehouse or something along those lines, but the space is pleasant, and we like the chairs. The staff was friendly and pleasant! Would recommend.

Huge brewery with 3 spacious floors. The first floor has tons of seating, the second has more seating as well as pool tables and games to choose from, while the 3rd floor is a large rooftop space with tons of picnic tables where you can sit to enjoy ypu beer and food. All floors feature a bar, but if you are on the rooftop and order one of their craft sodas, you do have to go back to the frost floor to get it. We used the stairs, but there is an elevator as well. They have a good variety of beers to pick from, and the bartenders are great about letting you sample before ordering. The food is fantastic and priced reasonably. They offer a burger, fries, and beer for $14 on weekends. I had the nachos with shredded chicken, and it is a huge portion for $10! Husband had the new chicken sandwich with pimento and honey and said it was amazing ( and messy). They are very kid and dog friendly, definitely a fun spot to stop while in town.

There's some good. Lots that could be improved. The ladies on the first floor were happy to welcome us in and answer questions. Is this a family friendly environment on all floors? Yes Can we order food from all floors? Yes. So we headed to the 3rd floor. Love an opened air roof top bar. But it is LOUD out here. 2 TVs so you can watch the football game if it's on. The guy with the beard and mustache on the third floor is everything the reviews have complained about. I'm not much to jump on a band wagon, but customer service is not in his vocabulary. The order wasn't done correctly. He showed very little interest in paying attention to our order, so we weren't surprised. We had to walk down to the first floor for our son's cherry lime aid. They brought 2 napkins for 6 people. No one gets silverware. He didn't give us a receipt or a number for our table. Our first visit, so we didn't know to ask for it. 2 of our meals came out and 1 didn't. We asked about it then. It took another 15 minutes for her to walk to the table and say that the gyro wasn't put in. We won't be back. Check out my reviews. I don't give a bad one unless it is beyond deserved.

Huge brewery in downtown Sumter! Tried a few different beers, all were decent from the lager to porter to stout. The sour was one of the best I have had, not so sour and great flavor. Service on the top floor is super friendly and fun, and the food was awesome. Definitely a must try when in the area!

I thought Sumter brewery what is a small brewery when I went to Sumter I was shocked on how big it was. I was impressed about each level from the 1st level restaurant to the 2nd level game area I assumed. and then the roof awesome view. And my wife's puppy got to go. Which is a huge plus. The entire staff were friendly and very helpful. As a homebrewer for 30plus year I'm picky and The beer here were great. The food wasn't over priced like some brewery do. Although I live in Columbia we will be back

I didn't know such a cool place could exist in Sumter!!! My husband and I got a flight of some of their beers, nachos, wings, and pretzels with beer cheese and everything was sooo good! Love that they have games and multiple floors, along with the rooftop deck. The staff was super friendly and patient with me as I decided on my flight choices. Will absolutely be back.

After my first post regarding the lackluster food and the horrible service (minus one bartender who was picking up the slack of the other bartenders: she was killing it), I have received multiple messages from this business and it's affiliates about changing my review trying to bully me into submission. Fuck that and fuck this place. You clearly saw me, I am not the bullying type nor will be bullied. At this point, it is borderline harassment. STAY AWAY from this place. They fucking suck: not only as a brewery and restaurant, but also as people. The service at Texas Roadhouse a mile away was so much better and you won't be harassed.

I has a great time celebrating with my cousins here and trying the different beer selections. My favorite chill spot was the rooftop with views of downtown sumter and the corn hole games! The rooftop had a great shuffle Playlist with heavy pour bartenders to help you get a good buzz. The picnic tables were a great touch conducive to big groups hanging out to drink and chill. This is a chill after dinner date.

Great spot in downtown Sumter! I've been here for Trivia (Wednesday nights), a HIIT workout on the rooftop (Saturday special event), and a few going aways. I love the building - really cool architecture and vibe inside. The rooftop is dope and a lot of fun to hang out on. I'm not a beer expert but the ones I've tried have been great! The variety is excellent. The staff / servers / employees are phenomenal - always kind, helpful, and offering up big smiles! The food is hit or miss: quesadillas, wings and spring rolls are good. Pretzel bites are yummy, if not over cooked. Chicken fingers were a hit with my son but they aren't always available. The hilly cheesesteak was good but I didn't love the beer cheese so maybe go for the provolone ;-) There are pool tables & ping pong & darts & board games & corn hole available! Keep an eye on the website / Facebook because SOB is always having cool events like concerts, 80s nights, and midget wrestling!!

Interesting that the food is ordered from the bar and you have to pick it up at the "food truck" in the beer garden. Just be aware. The beer garden is well organized and a great space. Plenty of tables and space to enjoy your evening. More activities and spaces to enjoy here. Definitely a place that will succeed. The staff was very professional, welcoming and warm. Definitely worth a visit, or three.

Even the BBQ sauce contained wheat. I was still able to have a few things, but overall, the options were limited. The band was very loud at first, but they did turn it down slightly, which helped a lot. We originally went expecting an afterparty connected to an event I participated in earlier that morning. I've been to afterparties before, and they are usually in a clearly designated, blocked-off area for participants and sometimes families. When we arrived, there were actually three different events happening, which is great--but it made things confusing. Parking was also difficult, and there were no accessible parking spots available at the time since all three were taken. The venue itself has a main restaurant, outdoor seating, a food ordering area, and a separate bar. There was a sign pointing toward another building connected to the restaurant that mentioned the morning event I attended, so we followed it. However, something didn't feel right. When I asked staff for clarification, they weren't sure whether the area was for runners/participants or only for company staff. About 20 minutes later, we learned it was actually only for staff. The signage was very misleading, and I wasn't the only one confused. Even the front staff seemed unsure of what was going on, which made things more frustrating. The event coordinator wasn't available, so it felt like communication was lacking across the board. In the end, we still got our food and drinks and had a good time, but it was a confusing experience overall. I do feel for the staff who were put in a difficult position without clear information. Clearer signage would have helped a lot--for example, specifying the company name and clearly stating whether the area was for employees only or open to participants from the event that morning. Better communication in the event emails would also have made expectations much clearer about what was open to the public versus staff only from the start. Overall, it is still a nice place to hang out and enjoy food and live music, but the event setup and communication definitely need more clarity.

We made the stop after taking a tour of the state capitol - which we also highly recommend! The place is huge with ample seating inside and out. And the setting? It couldn't be better! Especially for anyone who likes airports, airplanes, old buildings, trains, or just unique locations. The food... we ordered the Garlic Knots, Mediterranean Pizza, and a Pepperoni Pizza, and were not disappointed. The Garlic Knots - freshly made, good quality dough. We almost went back and ordered a second order of 'em. The pizzas? We loved them! My son said the bottom could've been a little bit crisper, but otherwise, the quality of the ingredients was good, and both tasted great. The Brews... we enjoyed two flights, not bad overall. Our favorite one out of the bunch was the ESB. It's their Red Ale, and it was a good one! The raspberry sour was also a pretty good drink. The other brews, not bad, but also not the best we've had. Overall, a great place to stop when visiting the city, and it's a great place for friends, families, old and young. I would gladly stop in again if I'm ever in the area.
