I've been to Steel Hands a few time and the experience is always incredible. There's indoor and outdoor and open air seating. The brewery beers are flowing from the tap and they even have offerings from the distillery. Tonight, I tried the Blueberry Lemonade with SH vodka and then the Brown Ale. I was there for an event, but would love to come back to listen to some of the live music. Great atmosphere, service and quality beverages.

Finally made it to Steel Hands for a lazy afternoon enjoying lunch and live music. Small but fun menu -- including vegetarian friendly fried avocado tacos. I had a delicious burger. Steel Hands makes great beer, and was surprised to see the range of Bourbon on hand too -- will have to come back for that. For those not imbibing, there are a few mocktails to choose from. Outside space is HUGE with plenty of seating ... including lots of umbrella shaded options. Sound system seems to reach everywhere, so sit accordingly to adjust your volume experience. Service is order at the counter or via app and a server brings food to the table. Walk up bar. Plenty of parking. A great afternoon - check it out!

What a fantastic brewery!! This was one of 4 Yelp choices and all "Steel Hands" were pointing here!! We arrived around noon on Sunday and sat at a picnic table near the entrance! The tables on the patio and court yard were spaced out perfectly and there were small trees amongst them! To our surprise, we were treated to some novice but GREAT young talented musicians! We listened to Nirvana, Led Zeppelin and Foo Fighters and so much more! What a fun collection! Ok, drinks and food! We ordered the blood orange lemonade with vodka. It's a premade mix that was super light and refreshing! My friends tried the beers. The Mac and cheese bites were excellent appetizers! Then my guy got the smash burger with the side salad (for me)! We had an absolute blast! What a fun place!

Steel Hands was a great time! I can't say enough good things about the way that they've ingratiated themselves into the local community! I went on a special Gamecock night, and there were tons (I'd guess hundreds) of people decked out in Gamecock gear, and they had local journalists there to provide insights into the upcoming college football season. It was really a sight to see. In addition to that, they had a great live music band, who played a lot of great country music hits. Finally, their craft beer is great, and I loved their IPAs. Overall, five (5) stars for Steel Hands, for a variety of reasons! I hope they'll be in Columbia for years to come!

Great for just hanging out! We visited Steel Hands Brewing on a Friday evening and while it was busy, it wasn't packed. The space was huge, with plenty of seating both inside and on the (dog friendly) patio. The vibe was casual and kind of industrial, especially the indoor portion. We went up to order food at the counter and drinks at the bar. I chose the Fried Pickles, and a mocktail (the menu featured 3 of these). The mocktail was called something like "sun sipper", but I can't find the name of it now. It was citrusy and pretty tasty, but not super memorable. The Fried Pickles were fried in beer batter and came with house-made ranch - great for a snack! I ended up getting a cocktail later in the night, made with vodka and lemonade (again, can't find the name). This one was stronger than expected, but pretty refreshing. The ambiance on the patio was great and we had no problem snagging a picnic table for our large group. They had live music, and the performers were so talented! I ended up staying way longer than I'd planned to, just to listen to them more. That Sunday, we returned for Yoga & Brunch, hosted by Good Company Yoga. The paved portion of the patio ended up being perfect for outdoor yoga, and we had a great experience. Afterwards, we stayed for brunch, and I ordered the Pimento Cheese Hot Honey Chicken Biscuit. While this dish was tasty, I can't say it was worth the price. The piece of chicken was tiny, and I mostly filled up on the side (I chose sweet potato fries). My friend got the Southern Chicken and Waffles, which were also just alright. Overall though, I do enjoy this brewery - would return!

We've been in the area since 2020, and on the recommendation of the "Beer Man", we visited our first area brewery--Steel Hands! It was good experiences. Our friends had dark beer, a favorite of mine, but on this day, I took the recommendation of one of the staff and tried a sour beer. Truth is I like all beer, except those funky, so called IPAs. The sour was okay, and since our visit fell within Oktoberfest, we sampled some good German themed food. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Steel Hands has an indoor beer hall vibe, a family friendly outdoor space, and decent food!

Jade did a wonderful job for this Yelp Elite event. The outdoor pavilion with fire pit and couch seating is a great spring, summer and fall venue for beers and small bites. The brewing facilities and available tours are eye opening and educational. The servers are engaging and knowledgeable of the brewing process. Gotta try this spot!

A good fish Sammie is hard to find and this was great. Not dried out, the seasoned sauce was perfect, and bun was soft. Sweet potato fries were hot and on point. My cherry old fashioned was perfectly mixed and just strong enough to bring a smile to my face. Enjoyed it and the live music outside.

After years of only experiencing Steel Hands coffee lagers in a can when my boyfriend would bring them back to Connecticut from his annual vacation, I finally was able to experience the real deal on draft. I couldn't believe the difference in how much the coffee flavor stood out when drinking it on draft! Not pictured was the lagerita- a margarita with a steel hands lime lager floater, which was also awesome! So happy to have finally visited this brewery in person.

Steelhands is by far one of the best breweries in a Columbia. They have a solid fast casual style layout which allows you be freely roaming the spot. They have live music pretty often and a nice outside and indoor experience. The food is pretty solid and they make so of the best local brews in town. Make sure to try their IPAs!

Beer- plenty of selection with some really good beers on tap. Service- had no issues getting a sample of beer to try or getting my beer. Really friendly staff that genuinely care about their job Brewery- plenty of seating indoor and outdoor. We sat outside in the shade and it was great. Would be fun to see a concert here for their Nashville series. The only downside is parking. The brewery was half full and it was tough to find a spot. Not a total deal breaker in the future but would weigh on my decision to come back.

What a great place to hang out. The patio and stage is awesome and they boast some really good local talent. Inside is airy and friendly. The staff is friendly and eager to talk to you about beer. I tried a couple: Coffee Lager-smooth and light great coffee flavor on top of a tasty lager. Tangerine Sour-lots of tangerine flavor and only slight sourness. It was 93 degrees during my visit, so this one hit the spot and was super refreshing. Bring your friends, family, and furries. You'll have a great time.

I love the burgers here with a nice hazy ipa . Can't beat it! Dog friendly as heck, indoor and out door seating. It feels like there's always something going on there, whether music or other events. If you don't order the Mac and cheese bites you're absolutely mad. They are awesome and you will regret it, they come with a little ranch aioli. The service is good as well, it's always been friendly. One of my fave local breweries for sure!

Ask the Community - Steel Hands Brewing

Would you say it's family/kid friendly?

I'd say so. They have a nice open outside area and more of a restaurant feel to them but it's free roam.

    Do they also serve wine?

Yes! They have a pretty decent selection of wine.

For…read morecontext, I had come here once before, and left somewhat unimpressed with the experience that I had. However, I decided to give Craft and Draft another shot, and I'm definitely glad that I did. Unbeknownst to me, they were holding "trivia night" on the night that I went, which drew a pretty large and lively crowd. While I think that the inside volume was turned up a little too high, it did serve to loosen everybody up, as I thoroughly enjoyed chatting with the other patrons, who were all very kind and sociable. I also got to check out the back patio for the first time, which was fun, but not quite as notable as some of the other taproom patios that I've been to. In addition, despite the fact that they had heaters on the patio, they didn't seem to be emanating much heat, as it remained pretty cold outside. What I did like was the fact that there was a pizza truck outside, which was making wood-fired pizzas on the spot, and which looked great! (I didn't have one myself, but everybody I asked told me that they tasted great as well.) As for the beers... they were pretty solid! On draft, I got one of the Burial IPAs, which was 8% ACV, and tasted pretty good as well! My friend said that the beer that they got out of the refrigerator was good as well, and that they had a lot of beers that they had never seen or heard of before. As for me, I noticed that they had one canned beer that was 9.5% ACV, which I had never seen before either! The two (2) bartenders working that night were really cool, knew their beers, and definitely made me and my friend feel welcomed. All-in-all, Craft and Draft was a pretty fun taproom, which *might* be a little better in the warmer months versus the cooler ones. Despite this, I'd still recommend stopping by to grab some unique brews, and enjoy the lively but not overly hectic atmosphere.
