Already reviewed the brewery within my bigger review of The Bank, but to reiterate: As for the beer, we were overwhelmed (in a good way) by all the great-sounding options. We tried two IPAs on tap and grabbed a few more to go. The bartenders had a no-nonsense vibe that came off a bit intense, when I asked to sample between two choices, I was told, "two only then I charge you," which felt a little harsh, especially since I had asked, only between those two-and they suggested sampling. That said, the beer was excellent, and I'd absolutely wait in line again. The double IPA was worth the upcharge--smaller pour, higher ABV, and packed a punch. My West Coast IPA was spot on: crisp, bold, and perfectly dank. read more

Cool place and concept. Located in a food hall called "The Bank". Bean counter imperial coffee stout was the best. Payola Hazy pale ale was dry, clean, and refreshing. For you heads out there they have a "dank of America" infused with cannabis terpenes. read more

Overall, I thought this was a great place to visit on vacation. They didn't have as large of a beer menu as I would've expected based on the size of the building and grounds. I ordered a sour beer. It was pretty good, but not the best I've had. They have lots of indoor and outdoor seating options. The outdoor seating area is beautifully landscaped and also have some large lawn games to play. I didn't order any food here, but they seemed to have many food trucks to order from. read more

I made myself a little beer crawl in HHI, and we hit up all three of the breweries one afternoon while visiting on vacation. This place is super small (as of now), and it indeed started as a side hustle (I love the name). The employees were super cool and let us sample brews. I was pleased with the sour I tried and also that they had a few sizes, as I was the DD and needed a smaller drink. There's not much space inside in the current location, but it was nice to chill on the patio outside in the parking lot. It sounds like they might be moving locations soon enough, so perhaps it will get bigger. As long as the beers stay great, they can't go wrong. read more

Side Hustle makes some legit beer. Before visiting Hilton Head Island I checked reviews of breweries on Untappd. Side Hustle had the highest reviews of all. So when I visited I was excited to give them a try. My host isn't a hazy IPA drinker but took me to The Bank anyway. We had a great experience anyway. I enjoyed every beer that I tried. The next night we visited another spot that had local beer only. What did I order there??? Beer from Side Hustle was all that I had there. Before I left we visited The Bank yet again. They have a great space with good beer. I didn't try the food at The Bank. The place is enormous and has great indoor and outdoor spaces. I highly recommend the beer and The Bank. My only complaint about The Bank was the folks not supervising their kids and allowing them to run everywhere. That's not a reflection however on Side Hustle or The Bank. That is the only negative I see. read more

Really cool spot to hang out and have some beers, listen to live music and chill. The pizzas were both really good. I saw a lot of bad reviews on here about some of the food items so wanted to stick with pizza and wings which were very good and came out quickly. Kinda annoying they are cashless FYI. Unique set up for a brewery. Old Bank of America building. Old vault is used to store to go beer. Whole concept is awesome. The beer is off the charts! They have something for everybody, from lights to stouts. I am an IPA nut and all were well done. Have food, but didn't try. Will definitely be back. read more

The beer selection is great and it's nice to be able to sit outside and watch sports on a big screen. Started a tab and ordered food from the counter which was delivered promptly. Grabbed beers at the bar. Arrived once by EV car and used the Level 2 charger but the space isn't labeled so I had to work around another gas vehicle parked there. Food and beer were great! However, we waited for at least 15 minutes to actually get a beer at the bar...I thought we would be leaving. The senior bartender was chatting up a group of people he just served and totally looked at us waiting to be served. He never did attend to us but a younger guy came over and took our order. Nice little place near the Pope Ave circle (moving soon). They have a good supply of cans to take with you and brews on tap. We're having Point Break Hazy IPA and Refraction IPA hazy. Returned to visit Side Hustle this year while in the area on vacation again. Since our visit last year when they had just opened, they have added taps, more brew choices, and provide additional seating outside. They have about 5 picnic tables in front (2 with umbrellas), a table for two, a few barstools next to tall barrels, and then on the side of the building two additional tables and two chairs under some trees. There is no indoor seating, so must go when the weather is in your favor unless taking it to go! The "Enough Space" Imperial Stout has a really good, smooth coffee flavor and had to get some to take home. The brewery is dog-friendly, the staff very nice, but note that they do not serve food, yet anyway. We were told by the staff that the Owners of the local Burnt Church Distillery are now partners with Side Hustle, and they are moving to a new location next summer into a vacant bank building. We can't wait to see what they do new and are excited for their expansion. I have attached photos, but of course it will be an all-new "scene" next Summer/Fall. Take time to check them out. This was our first time at Side Hustle. High quality beers. Only seating is outside, but it's great on a nice day. Really enjoyed the Refraction IPA and Night Surf Chocolate Coconut Stout. I bought a four pack of Nectaron Your Mind IPA, and it was my favorite beer that I had on the island during the week. Staff was knowledgeable and helpful. Recommend checking it out. read more

Currently they claim to be the "smallest brewery in South Carolina," but with beers this good - they'll be growing out of this title soon! I usually avoid raspberry beers, but I really liked the "...and that's your mother" fruited sour; and my Guinness-loving father approved of their Enough Space double coffee stout. They have a small spot on Arrow Road, and offer only a pair of high stools inside; the rest of the seating is outside on picnic tables. read more

Wandered over to Side Hustle after a brewmaster class at our resort...so glad we did! This place has got some really good beer! I love that they're going to be able to expand too! The 720 Aerial was a really good IPA, as was the Refraction IPA. We also tried big wheat ales - the favorite was the Fuzzy Navel. Easy to get to via bike if you're staying on Sea Pines too, which was a plus! There was a Grilled Sausage pop up...it smelled amazing! If not for dinner reservations we might have tried :) read more

The entire experience was destroyed by a barmaid who did not have a clue what she was talking about who followed her push off with a flamboyant display is arrogance and disrespect. Glad to hear this brewer opened up in Bluffton. Tried it a few times. The beer is good. Actually very good. I feel it's a bit high priced but I get it these days. Not a fancy place, maybe they are still working on that. I do think they need a lesson in hospitality. The bartenders are all very up tight. No personality at all, more like they are doing the customer a favor and that needs to improve. It's a bartender job not a warden position. The food truck the night we were there was interesting. Very sloppy looking, dirty truck inside and out. The food was ok and the server was fine but really not appealing at all. Maybe the owner of the brewery should screen the trucks a bit more and set some guidelines. The head brewer was at a table that night , never said a word to any customers. Appears very cold and not hospitable. It's a service industry these days so my advice is to step it up and this place could be a hit. Let's hope things improve and I am sure the business will roll in. Train your staff, over and over again. Good luck we want you to make it in bluffton! read more

Huge patio, that doesn't allow dogs. Hilton Head is dog friendly. If they want to keep local business when tourists go away, the owners should probably reconsider this policy. People that visit breweries with their dogs are responsible dog owners. read more

Open for 18 months at the time of writing, a great back story and solid brews to boot. Small location now, but planning to expand I hear. Had the Point Break IPA and BFF sour, but with the rain coming down hard I see a few more samples in my future. Craft beer lovers do yourself a favor and get in on this Side Hustle. read more

My husband and I rode our bikes here while on vacation. We sat outside at a picnic table. I sampled a sour which is often my go to but it was not the top of my list. I ended up with a lime seltzer which was ok, again not my favorite. But the atmosphere was very casual and laid back and it was nice to get away and relax for a short time. read more
