I certainly wish that I could give Dr. Talley more stars. I am simply AMAZED at what took place…read moreTWO DAYS ago. My wife and I had retired to the area about two years ago. In cleaning around our VERY hilly land, I began feeling increasing discomfort in my left knee. It had gotten to the point that I was in pain almost the entire time. Simply getting into the car was a major effort because I would have to reach down and pull my leg into the car. Stepping into a bathtub had become a very painful event each time. Since I had broken my left ankle in three places in January of 2018, I just thought that I was suffering additional "spin off" effects of that operation that was done in OKC while we were visiting our kids. (HOW I NOW WISH THAT I WOULD HAVE HAD THE SURGERY DONE WITH DR. TALLEY!) About two months ago, during a severe cramp while asleep,. I tore a tendon in my left ankle. It was excruciating pain, but soon passed. However, I noticed that my foot would simply "plop down" when walking. I also noticed an increased tendency to trip caused by my left foot hanging up on some raised surface or other that before that tear would not have been an issue. LONG STORY ... SHORT. After a very nice doctor in the area had requested an MRI and suggested a possible surgery, I felt "checked" at proceeding with the surgery before checking with another doctor. After checking with our medical plan, and doing a lot of research on the web, I found that in our plan, Dr. Talley was the highest rated ankle surgeon in the region. I couldn't get in to see him for over a month until I explained that the other doctor had said that my injury was very time sensitive. The Orthopedic Clinic in Ozark graciously worked me in to see Dr. Talley at the end of his normal hours. While on the subject, we were VERY impressed with the professional and courteous treatment at the clinic. TOO WORDY. TWO DAYS AGO, I met with Dr. Talley. He was not "rushed" as I would have imagined him to be. He took a lot of time to go through the MRI images and explained that although at almost 70 years of age, I would probably be a candidate for TWO KNEE REPLACEMENTS, at this moment, he would recommend trying a shot in the knee. He explained that the cartilage in my RIGHT KNEE was actually more worn than my left knee that was causing all my pain. The shot was uncomfortable, however, the numbing medicine immediately brought substantial relief. I was informed by the nurse that I would probably feel quite a bit of discomfort in a few hours after the numbing medicine ceased to be effective. I HAVE HAD ZERO PAIN SINCE. ZERO! I am amazed at the difference. I might have to have another injection in a few months if the pain returns. I say, "BRING IT ON" if I begin to have discomfort in that knee again. This doctor should have MANY more five star reviews on YELP. This is my sincere effort at spreading the good word. Thank you.
