I've seen Dr Raul's three times now. He's been kind and patient with my questions. Mountain Home is a retirement community so there's a majority of older individuals and along with that comes joint issues. They obviously have a busy practice from the full waiting room. I have confidence in him and if I have to wait a bit that's the way it goes. His front desk assistants are very helpful and kind. I find he's honest which I appreciate. read more

My appointment was for 2pm, I was forced to sit in my car for 45 minutes. When they finally called me, I was put in a waiting room. By 3:30, I foolishly asked a nurse if she knew how long it would be. My time is also valuable and my schedule carefully planned to make the best use of our time in Mountain Home. At 3:30 - or immediately after encountering the nurse I queried - the doctor came into the room. He did not say anything other than "How's it going?" He was talking about how much pain he knew I was in, that I didn't need surgery (the ER doctor said I would). The first question he asked me? " How much are you smoking?" I don't smoke. I haven't smoked in over 22 years. That information is already in the patient file, on the intake form. Waste of time question. Too much a prima donna to open the file? In general, he berated me for even considering surgery given my situation and suggested surgery would leave a scar as long as my arm. Then he went off on me about my selfish question about his time. It's not my time, it's his. And he spends time with his patients; as much time as they need even if they need an hour and a half. He generously allowed me to have a 2nd opinion with one of his colleagues. He was okay with that. I should have looked before I leapt to Knox Orthopedics. I dunno, is it just me? Does every other patient get all the time in the world? If you ask me, that's just poor time management. I know he didn't have long appointments before me, they just didn't appear. We were watching from the car, only 2 other people went in and there are several doctors. Nobody who I'm paying for their time gets to take advantage of and waste MY TIME! Maybe he was playing Minecraft or gambling online because I can't see how asking how much longer we would have to wait could incite the kind of anger the doctor (Franklin) was spewing at me. I didn't make a follow-up appointment. If I need to feel undervalued as a patient or just as a fellow human, I can probably get it by telling someone at Walmart to put on a mask. I'll be damned if I'm going to take abuse from a new doctor with a 2020 state medical license and no previous employment history. He's not good enough to make me wait 90 minutes and then rag on me for complaining. Yelp has shown me other doctors with more than 1 star reviews. Avoid at all costs if you have a modicum of self respect. UPDATE: As demonstrated below, one person apologizes for my wait. We arrived early at 1pm and had to wait in the car until like 2:45pm. Since we got there at 1pm, we could see who came and went. Unfortunately, due the practice's closing their huge waiting room, people went in and came right back out. How do you call 90 minutes "A little late"? Only two people went in while we were watching and there are several providers in your office. According to Dr. Franklin, each of these patients needed 45 minutes? Dr. Franklin's intimidating barking at me, treating me like I should already know everything about my injuries and trying to make me look foolish for asking about a procedure that would leave a an arms length scar - those are not things I had prior knowledge of. I'm not an Orthopedist. Notice, none of the orthopedist listed have any reviews and your office has 3 reviews, all of which are one star. That speaks to an internal issue that is beyond my control and, apparently, out of your control as well. Dr. Franklin came to Knox after a referral during his internship. He has only been a practicing surgeon since September 2020; I was injured in October! He doesn't have the background or history to make me believe he spends as much time as patients need with him. Not with his attitude. I imagine if he is as rude and impolite with other patients as he was with me, his patients probably wanted out after the 5 minutes he spent with me. Dr. Franklin has a horrible bedside manner and just assumes I'm a smoker and should know more about orthopedics than he does. Trust has to be earned as does respect. I and my son have been treated by Dr.'s Knox, McConnell and Franklin on multiple occasions. We would highly recommend all of them. We are an active family and certainly do our part in keeping these guys busy. They have always been very kind, professional and have made an appropriate diagnosis. They have always offered conservative treatment options first & have followed up with additional treatments when necessary. I have had arthroscopic shoulder and knee surgeries & have had excellent outcomes from both. My son and I have also been treated for other minor orthopedic injuries on 3 other occasions. Typical medical services in Mountainhome have an appointment for 1:30 PM for my wife. It is now after 2 o'clock and she is still sitting in the waiting room. As a patient this is not appropriate our time is just as important as the doctor. We as patients are their customers. Overbooking and making people wait around till they have time to see you is ridiculous. If they want to keep their customer base they should treat patients like customers not cattle read more

Extremely disappointed in the 5 minute rush visit and lack of concern and bad info received by Dr. Rauls after my ER referral after a sudden knee injury. (ER recommended an MRI and referred me to Knox) Rec'd no MRI, short, cursory (barely existent) physical exam, and total misdiagnosis. Out in 5 minutes after 1 hour wait. No help whatsoever. Not even sure if he had even reviewed my records, or if he actually knew which patient I was. (really) He casually announced that there was nothing he can do except shoot my injury with cortisone, and that I would probably need a knee replacement, and there was nothing I can do either. Say what? This was my _first_ experience with a knee problem and it was due to an _injury_ from a quick twisting move I made. When I asked him what the loud, audible-to-others "pop" sound that I heard when I injured it was, the Doctor replied it was just "bone on bone. Nothing can be done." Still not sure what actually happened, but I now feel back to 100% after 6 months on my own, researching probable causes for myself, and following internet advise and PT exercises I found. Will never go back there! Even the receptionist was rude. read more
