Sicily - Italian Near Me - Jefferson City, Tennessee

I've been here twice now, first time I had a supreme pizza and this time a had a Gyro (lamb) and my friend had penne and meatballs. First the pizza, it was mediocre at best. It had a perfect shaped crust leading me to believe it was pre-made and not a lot of flavor for an "everything" pizza (more on that in a moment.) The Gyro was pretty good (3.5) but it was missing something? The Gyro at Gondoliers has more flavor. The penne a meatballs, my friend asked if the meatballs are made with Italian sausage and we were informed by our server that the new owners are Muslim and don't use any pork products in their restaurant (turkey bacon, sausage, turkey meatballs which is why I think their food is lacking the flavors I'm accustomed to in an Italian restaurant). It was also mediocre at best even after we tried to flavor it up with parmesan and red peppers. My service both times was excellent but I wouldn't return for the food. read more

Upon entering the restaurant, I had flashbacks of walking into an old Pizza Hut restaurant. However, the Sicily Italian Cuisine restaurant was only 8 days old. We were warmly greeted by our waiter who continued to shower us with attention throughout the meal, checking on us frequently and refilling our drinks regularly. The Egyptian bread created a memorable experience by being served inflated like a hot air balloon and deflating upon contact with the knife as it was served. The medium calzone with marinara dipping sauce was enormous and could easily serve a family of four. A highly recommend this diamond in the rough! read more

Well for starters when we entered we weren't greeted nicely at all and was told it would be a few minutes then the waitress just sit down. Then we waited for another waitress to sit us. Then we waited at the table for at least 10 minutes before ordering, then another 30 minute wait for food. The stuffed ravioli was not cooked all the way and very tough. My wife did say the lasagna was ok. The bathrooms were nasty and restaurant seemed run down badly. So if you want good Italian food and great service Gondolier is the place to go in Jefferson City. Gondolier always comes through with great service and great food. read more

This is our 5th at Sicily. With the word of mouth about a good new restaurant that could surpass the Gondolier restaurant was great new forJefferson City. However with popularity you have pitfalls. This restaurant started out strong now has gone to serving old chicken that has the consistency of toothpicks it has the same taste. We set up a rehearsal dinner called three times. He had reserved a table so everybody could be in a circular patterned. We called three times to check up with those reservations. We even stopped in and eat there again between the reservation time. On a very important night, we walked into a busy restaurant define our table occupied with one person no reservation book available no reservation available. I called that morning and verified. I had bragged about this restaurant all day with every time we eat there it has been five stars. We had people from out of town we had people decide they were too tired to come after decorating for the wedding and they wanted to be well rested for the wedding the next day so they did not come so we miss a party of four with us, which worked out with the booth size that we ended up having to sit ahead, but it's not what we had reserved. Then it took over an hour and a half to get our food and when it came out, I ordered the same thing I had ordered in the past because I knew how delicious it was in my elderly mother got the same with shrimp, which was a calzone not only did these calzones come out too dark. They were actually burnt in spots on the bottom and on the top, the chicken inside was like eating toothpicks and the cheese did not melt. It was the most disgusting calzone I've had in my life, my mom and her late 80s lay her finger right on the taste. Said this is old chicken. The waitress tried to put it off, has being dried out, but I have processed old hens and there meat is tough. If you don't understand, try taking freezer burnt meat and grilling it and see what it taste like that's about what this tasted like in my book. Either way, the calzones are inedible. The waitress was quite upset. She couldn't help the kitchen, but we were the last ones to get our food and the bride groom wanted to get on with their evening and it took over 2 1/2 hours at that restaurant normally we go and have a relaxing dinner. It would be an hour hour and 15 minutes but 2 1/2 hours over an hour and 15 minutes waiting on Food was way too long even the appetizer was 45 minutes and another half an hour after that and then get disgusting food now they're Nana bread was good but it was devoured in minutes. We got two for the table. I actually hate Jefferson City water, so I refuse to drink anything in that restaurant made with their water. Nothing against the restaurant I know drink soda and I definitely do not like their water at all so I bring my own water or my own drink kid. They should offer bottled water or bottled beverages people would appreciate it much better. This is not my first review of the restaurant when they opened. They had a five star but now that they're popularity and they are extremely busy. They're going down to a wood star. In fact I'd give them a negative star for the fact that they ruined the rehearsal dinner but since our father and I were paying for this dinner with several people from out of town with the bride group it was a disaster and the food I had talked about all day and fasted just so I can eat that restaurant maybe be nauseous when I ate it. I spit it out. I watched my mother try to eat it and she said it was absolutely the most disgusting chicken, beef shrimp Stromboli she had ever had in her life and we're talking to somebody who has lived 87 years. And all I can think about every time I go in there is that the Pizza Hut has a severe cockroach problem and now I wanna know if they ever got that taken care of because the table started making fun of me pulling food out of my mouth and looking at it; the bride had seen those cockroaches when she was a teen, and one of the last times Pizza Hut was open and all she said to me was if I was bullying cockroach legs out of my calzone,! The waitress was a doll and took back the food whether she told the cooks or not. I don't know. We had had her three times upon her five visits, but she did not recognize our party. She tried to make it up and brought us some funnel cake bites, but the grease was so gross. I ate one of them was hot and then that was the end of those grease bites! It was a tragedy to see a restaurant fall so quickly from grace when they started their quality of food was really good and they took attention to detail and now that they're waiting lines and busy they're cutting corners and serving nasty meat. I really do think a health inspector needs to come back and check. There's no way even if you fresh chicken has a "toothpick" texture and cheese that doesn't melt and tastes like paper. Chicken tastes boiled/frozen. Piccata is never whatever that sauce they put on it is. Long wait for inedible food. Don't waste your time.

The food was very good large portions. The service was excellent. Will definitely come back and eat here again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Would give less than one star if possible .We were there 15 minutes at a table , no one brought us a menu or said hi . I asked twice who our server was and they looked at us with no idea . 20 minutes in the table beside us was seated and drinks were served , that was when I asked the second time for our server . Still no help at all . We left (party of 5) when the took the table beside us order . Be prepared to get ignored or just looked over if you eat here .
