    Garlic rolls

Guys! I remembered to take pictures of lunch- after a few bites! Mamma mia's italian restaurant in Seymour is so good. Had a little snafu with our order to go, but made it right and sent free garlic rolls too. I had the deluxe calzone, hubs had a gyro with onion rings and of course the rolls! All excellent tasting and we had a picnic at the park so it travelled a few minutes and was still 100% awesome. Nice folks too!

Made the trip to Seymour and glad we did. The location is in a strip mall next to Kroger so if you forgot that they don't serve wine yet stop in there first, worth the $3 corking fee for BYOB! We were greeted right away and seated very quickly in the dining room area. Brightly lit, a mixture of tables and booths. They serve you garlic knots when you sit down. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. She answered any of our menu questions and was very helpful with letting us customize our order. My husband ordered angel hair pasta with marinara, which came with a salad (pretty big for a side salad). I ordered eggplant parmigiana and asked for angel hair and Alfredo (and salad). Food came very quick, portions were very large and food was very very good, the seasoning was perfect! Prices were so reasonable. We will definitely go back!

It is away from from the beaten path of the Smokies and they recommend reservations for dinner. Open at 3pm, I called and he gave us a 6:15 time which worked well on a slower Wednesday. The entrance gives way to a nice bar area with a few TVs, booths and white linen tables. We each settled on a bottle of Sangiovese and Pinot Grigio and the mussels appetizer and bruschetta. Our waiter Andrei was professional and prompt. We decided to have a glass of wine and enjoy conversation and our apps without ordering our entrees and expediting the occasion. Andrei checked back several times and kept our waters full and was very patient. We settled on clams fettuccini with a white wine butter sauce and my lady got the mussels in the same sauce. It was a garlic lover's delight and I'm certain I'll never be a vampire. We enjoyed the setting and the atmosphere was relaxed. A liquid dessert pour of tequila and whiskey settled us and we skipped dessert although it was tempting. Overall the prices were a bit higher but the service was excellent and our meal rang true. It was a great first impression and we had leftovers. It will be added into our rotation and look forward to trying other pastas and seafood.

The Frutti di Mare is phenomenal!!!…read more We happened upon this wonderful location by watching "Adventure is Out There" on YouTube. Totally off the beaten path, and so worth it. Just when you think you're lost, you arrive. The Focaccia bread that is served really good. Suggest getting marina as opposed to olive oil for dipping. The meatball was nice sized (big enough to share) and marinara sauce was really good. The Frutti di Mare was suggested by our waiter Anthony (very knowledgeable about the menu and offerings) to use white wine sauce. It was a great suggestion. The ingredients were obviously fresh and the portion size was easily shareable. We shared a Tiramisu. And let me preface that my wife has never liked this dessert. But the YouTube review swayed her perspective. And she loved it. You can tell that it's a labor to make (we talked to the owner's wife and she concurred). The only negative would be due to personal preference. The Caesar salad dressing didn't have anchovies. It was lemon forward and good, but it's just something that we like.

We didn't ever have to ask for drink refills. She was on top of everything. Incredibly friendly and kind. Seriously fantastic! Then the food - oh my word! Incredible. The bread you can get out front is excellent with a garlic butter dip that is just so good. Their Caesar salad is one of the best I've had - tons of shaved parm and pine nuts. We almost never like spaghetti and meatballs when we're out - never as good as homemade, but their bucatini and meatballs was incredibly flavorful. The pasta was perfectly cooked. Husband loved their meatball sub - best one he's ever had. I also loved the baked chicken pesto pasta - such good flavors in here. Probably, the later you get there, reservations are necessary. The interior was quite vibrant and well-lit, with both booths and chairs for seating. Service: The staff was very warm. Right from the hostess to our waitress, they embodied the Southern hospitality that the region is known for. Bites: For appetizers, we ordered calamari with lemon aioli and marinara. I admit I had a little skepticism about the calamari (before ordering) because I've had enough overcooked ones before. But the calamari at Roma Table was cooked to perfection, and the lemon aioli was AMAZING, so zesty, fresh, and creamy, it complemented the crispy seafood. The marinara was good too but totally overshadowed by the aioli. I highly recommend this! For the main course, I ordered a pizza. It was a bit of a letdown. I should have ordered their pastas, which they are well known for. The pizza was bready, and there was a very thick blob of mozzarella, which was a little icky for me. It was a big blob on every slice, which you could literally plop out. The pizza, I guess, is highly skippable. Overall, if I overlooked the pizza, I would definitely give Roma Table another chance next time.

The meatball appetizer was three mini meatballs. I've seen meatballs on sub sandwiches bigger than these. The lasagna, was really without any sauce. It was a bolognese sauce. Also it lacked the stretchy cheese pull that one expects from a lasagna. The pasta dishes from what I tried was a little to al dente, there was too much chew in the pasta. The food is amazing. For appetizers I would recommend getting the focaccia and meatballs. Entree wise, I would HIGHLY recommend splitting the Pappardelle e Ragú di Maiale Bianco and something else with another one of your table mates. The portion size is perfect for one person but you'll want to try more than one item. If you are there in the summer, you must try the Tomato Martini (PLEASE bring it back for next summer's menu!). The service and ambiance of Osteria Stella and Brother Wolf is what completely sets them apart. OS is a high class, quiet, romantic restaurant with dark colors and knowledgeable servers who value your experience. BW is simply a high end bar. That said, BW is much more fast paced and really my only complaint, the music was absurdly loud the night we were there for dinner and the restaurant was crowded, so everyone was trying to talk over the music and you almost had to yell to even hear the person sitting right beside you. If going to OS, you would likely need reservations, especially on a weekend. With BW, they don't take reservations to my knowledge and it's a free for all for an open seat at the bar or an open table. Really the difference is what kind of vibe you're going for.

For the appetizers, I really liked the presentation of the focaccia bread with a table-side drizzle of olive oil and with a pesto, goat cheese, and a bulb of cooked garlic. We also enjoyed the arancini, which is basically fried risotto. I didn't like my main as much. I had the mushroom rigatoni. As I'm not a vegetarian I had to try a side of meatballs which I did enjoy. While I really enjoyed the nuttiness from the toasted hazelnuts, the mushrooms were very chewy, almost as if they'd been rehydrated, and a lot of the pasta was pretty dried out. Needed more sauce for the rigatoni. I can see how the dish can satisfy a vegetarian option but it would also be perfect with grilled chicken. I took a bite of the creamy Tuscan shrimp and thought the shrimp was perfectly cooked and very creamy. And the pork chop with polenta had an interesting sweetness to it. While I wouldn't order my entree again, the service plus the other dishes makes them a 5 for me. You Bella believe I'll be back!
