Try the steak... Louis is a Knoxville legend - probably most famous for their pasta dishes but, have you had their ribeye? The restaurant has a very casual low vibe so it is a great place many occasions. The service is always good. The food is good. Make sure you have the right expectations though - this is not a fancy place but it is a good place.

I had an excellent meal (soup and salad) for $8.00 at Louis Restaurant on Old Broadway . The service was excellent and the food delicious. Louis is a classic dating back to 1958 and is a staple in the North Broadway community. They have wonderful appetizers, and of course traditional Italian dishes. You can also get a burger, or cheeseburger, and even steaks. If you have never been to Louis you are missing out on excellent food for very reasonable prices. Follow me on Yelp for more places to eat, and things to see and do in and around Knoxville.

Wowza! The baked lasagna was out of this world. The side salad was an afterthought... maybe if you were in the restaurant it would be stronger. So close to a five... the staff was not friendly. And while the website touts 20 min curbside I was told 30 before it was ready and an additional 25 wait once I arrived. Definitely a staple in the area!

We came on a Sunday at 12:30 PM and it was busy! There was about a 30 minute wait and we were asked to wait in our car or outside and they would call us. While waiting in the car, we tried to decide our meals, but we waited since their menu was a little confusing. We saw pictures of a Sunday menu and wanted to make sure the menu wasn't different. Well, they have a Sunday menu and their full menu served on Sundays which makes choosing food harder! Everything sounded good! I decided to go with a Southern classic and my husband went Italian. They gave generous portions at a great price. We were sooo full! We didn't have room for dessert, but when I heard they offered complimentary rice pudding, I couldn't say no! Next time, we will try their pizza!

The service was really good. If you want a nice southern family environment, this place will suit your fancy. The environment was a mix between Gondolier and Stoney's. They have plenty of seating and even a private room for special group events. It definitely has an Old School 70s and 80s vibe.

We decided to go to Louis last night. I read the reviews and I was a little hesitant. Well I'm glad to say I have been to Louis. And I have no interest in going back. The service was excellent. The food .... It was horrible. We got the mushroom and onion ring appetizers. It was nothing outstanding. The onion rings were bland. I ordered the baked lasagna and my husband got the baked manicotti. Both entrees were awful. I took like 4 bites and I'm done. He took 2 or 3 bites of his. I have had better warmed up stouffers lasagna.

Great food and service. I got the sirloin and spaghetti for lunch and a onion rings for appetizers and they were awesome.

Review in one word, unsatisfying. Review in several words: Salad from a bag??? One sad cucumber. Thick, dry, flavorless bread. Flounder was akin to buying frozen from the grocery store. Went with staff's suggestion of combination plate vs baked ravioli/manicotti. Can't say whether it was the better of the two, but I would've liked to have tried the latter as the spaghetti noodles and ravioli were soft and not al dente. The only meatball was flavorless and extremely dry. Basically, I'm dissatisfied and sad we wasted our money. Bright side, ranch was actually good.

But they got Buccatini. Woohoo! Beet salad - we are a fan beets anything so it was good. Brussels sprouts- flavor was good but overcooked and mushy. PEI mussel - was really good. Highly recommended Pulpo (grilled octopus) - a tad overcooked but not too bad. Focaccia bread w/ Ricotta cheese - yummy. The only sad part was when our waiter took the Ricotta away before we can scraped off every little bit of cheese from the container without us realizing it. Pasta carbonara- barely any pancetta but yummy. Pasta bolognese- I am not a fan of bolognese. Gnocchi- soft and fluffy pillows but sauce is alright. The meatball appetizer was three mini meatballs. I've seen meatballs on sub sandwiches bigger than these. The lasagna, was really without any sauce. It was a bolognese sauce. Also it lacked the stretchy cheese pull that one expects from a lasagna. The pasta dishes from what I tried was a little to al dente, there was too much chew in the pasta. That said for the prices that they charge to not offer a side salad or at least some bread with the meal is disappointing.

The food is amazing. For appetizers I would recommend getting the focaccia and meatballs. Entree wise, I would HIGHLY recommend splitting the Pappardelle e Ragú di Maiale Bianco and something else with another one of your table mates. The portion size is perfect for one person but you'll want to try more than one item. If you are there in the summer, you must try the Tomato Martini (PLEASE bring it back for next summer's menu!). The service and ambiance of Osteria Stella and Brother Wolf is what completely sets them apart. OS is a high class, quiet, romantic restaurant with dark colors and knowledgeable servers who value your experience. BW is simply a high end bar. That said, BW is much more fast paced and really my only complaint, the music was absurdly loud the night we were there for dinner and the restaurant was crowded, so everyone was trying to talk over the music and you almost had to yell to even hear the person sitting right beside you. If going to OS, you would likely need reservations, especially on a weekend. With BW, they don't take reservations to my knowledge and it's a free for all for an open seat at the bar or an open table. Really the difference is what kind of vibe you're going for.

For the appetizers, I really liked the presentation of the focaccia bread with a table-side drizzle of olive oil and with a pesto, goat cheese, and a bulb of cooked garlic. We also enjoyed the arancini, which is basically fried risotto. I didn't like my main as much. I had the mushroom rigatoni. As I'm not a vegetarian I had to try a side of meatballs which I did enjoy. While I really enjoyed the nuttiness from the toasted hazelnuts, the mushrooms were very chewy, almost as if they'd been rehydrated, and a lot of the pasta was pretty dried out. Needed more sauce for the rigatoni. I can see how the dish can satisfy a vegetarian option but it would also be perfect with grilled chicken. I took a bite of the creamy Tuscan shrimp and thought the shrimp was perfectly cooked and very creamy. And the pork chop with polenta had an interesting sweetness to it. While I wouldn't order my entree again, the service plus the other dishes makes them a 5 for me. You Bella believe I'll be back!
