We started with the Sicilian salad w/ Gorgonzola and progressed to a small Corleone, a perfect serving split between 2 people. The Corleone was very flavorful -- spicy pomodoro sauce, sausage, mushrooms, cooked basil, and truffle oil. Harmonious with the wood-fired crunchy crust. We put our name down for a party of 4 and were told the wait would be about 30 minutes. Three of us arrived on time, but my daughter-in-law was delayed because the babysitter was late. This is a common family situation. After the full 30 minutes passed, we were still not seated even though a 4-top table was clearly available. The hostess said we could not be seated until all four people were present. She also said we would have to go back to the end of the waitlist and start over. I explained the babysitter situation calmly and asked if they could make an exception or at least seat the three of us while we waited for the fourth. We were happy to order drinks, appetizers, or even her meal ahead of time. We received a firm no. Only after I showed frustration did another employee overhear and step in. That employee said it would only be 5 more minutes, which directly contradicted the first staff member. The back-and-forth was confusing and unnecessary. The policy feels ridiculous and very customer-unfriendly, especially for a family-oriented Italian restaurant. We could have spent money at the bar with a bottle of wine, drinks, or appetizers while waiting. Instead we were left standing. The whole experience left such a bad taste that we walked out and will not return. We went with friends for lunch. We had the specials that came with salad. Large fresh salads. Delicious. I had eggplant parmigiana Reggiano with rigatoni pasta in d tomato sauce. Very fresh, well executed. Quite good. Husband had penne ala vodka. It had a bit of spice that he wasn't expecting but overall he really enjoyed it. Friends shared a sausage / peppers / onions over pasta dish that they order quite often. I don't think it was on the menu actually. They also shared an antipasti that looked amazing. For a chain restaurant I wasn't expecting the quality we received. Really was a good lunch. We would definitely go back. Very reasonable pricing and the large room was not too loud. Pretty restaurant. I really want to try one of their pizzas. They looked to be thin crusted discs of deliciousness. PS our waitress and the manager of this branch were terrific. We've been eating at this location for about 10 years and have seen the management change quite a few times. Food has always been great but the music has become super loud. Considering that the vast majority of people who come to this location in Boca is above 50 years old, management should understand that most don't enjoy how loud the music is. You can barely have a conversation without screaming what makes it much louder. Makes the ambience feel more like a bar than the restaurant it used to be. This place has it all: great food, pleasant atmosphere, and reasonable prices. We went for dinner on a weeknight and were able to get a table without a wait. I don't expect this to be the case when the snowbirds are back as this is a popular place... for good reason. Fortunately Sicilian Oven offers a "no wait list" option on their website, where you can get on the wait list in advance of your visit and see how many parties are ahead of you. Our friends had the chicken reggiano pizza, made with breaded chicken, ricotta cheese and shaved parmesan cheese. Although I don't generally like coal-fired pizza because the crust is usually burnt and crunchy. I was pleased to see the crust on this pizza was tender and not over-done. An amazing pizza with a great taste combo! We enjoyed the thicker crusted square "Nonna" pepperoni pizza. Flavorful and simply delicious! We shared a small Sicilian salad, made with lettuce, beans, onions, olives, candied walnuts (amazing!), roasted red peppers, and shaved parm cheese. It was presented in Cobb salad style, with each item being separate in the bowl so you can combine the ingredients in whatever portion size you want. The balsamic vinaigrette dressing was light and tasty. The group split an order of pasta with vodka cream sauce. The sauce was very good and not too heavy. Our friends also had an order of Tuscan fries, which were made with truffle oil and grated cheese. They loved these fries but, in my view, the fries weren't the best item we tasted. As compared to other Italian restaurants, the prices at Sicilian Oven seemed quite reasonable and the dinner was a good value. We had plenty of leftovers too. Bring on the doggy bag! The service was very good, and all of our requests for drink refills, etc were promptly and courteously fulfilled. With so many choices of creative pizzas and salads, as well as the option to create a customized pizza, we will need to visit Sicilian Oven again soon! read more

My husband and I are frequent diners at this restaurant. They had a very good manager, Tom, but for some reason they shipped him off to a different location. They do not take reservations so we try to get there early and secure one of two high tops in the bar. This evening, April 9, we arrived around 6 p.m. and one of only two high tops had been reserved by the new manager, Jose, for his own friends or family. We had never encountered this situation before. If they do not take reservations how does the manager have the audacity to reserve one of only two high tops for his own friends or family? We discovered this family owned and operated restaurant by accident. We had just left another store in this shopping center, had about 2 hours to kill before our next appointment. All tables outside were filled. And I thought, well "this place looks good, let's check it out." When we entered, almost every table was occupied. Again, it must be good, or else why it be so busy? We were directed to take whichever table we wanted, and I asked where was it the coolest, as it was warmer than I would have liked it to be. We sat at a table under a huge ceiling fan. The vibe was informal. Local crowd. A lot of tables occupied by business people. The menu was extensive, we had about an hour, and decided to order a lunch pizza which was accompanied by a medium sized salad. We had a tomato and basil pizza which had large slices of sliced tomato and basil and no sauce. It was tasty but I must admit, we missed the tomato sauce. The salad was delicious. Fresh. Large. And we could have eaten another one. We also had a glass of Sauvignon Blanc wine and a bottle of beer. Each was good and priced "happy hour", with a few bucks taken off. We were impressed when the owner came over to the table to introduce himself and apologize that it had taken so long for the home made tiramisu to be served. He was sincere, warm and cordial. He took the cost of the tiramisu off the check, saying it was on him! Now isn't that something. Two guys who were obviously new to his restaurant who he treated like long time clients. That made us feel good and we decided that this was a place to return to. And return we will,!the next time we are in that center check them out. It was refreshingly different, simple, but so good. Preliminary review based on one visit. The Sicilian salad was very good. The meatball sandwich came on a strange bread which I did not care for. (The meatball was fine) The menu at Sicilian Oven (SO) is not large. An item we wished for but was not available was a meatball hero. I do not think they offer classic Italian bread. SO is best thought of not as a full service Italian eatery with extensive menu options but as a place for wings, pizza, salad, etc. The main virtue of SO are its very modest prices. It is a very busy place and the location of it isn't the greatest. Have tried to walk in and the wait times have been very long. We have ordered pizzas to go and when you go to pick them up there is a line out the door and the staff are so busy working tables they don't ask why we were there. Waited over 20 minutes and then they found my order already sitting on the shelf under a few other orders. The pizza was ok not great. But for us the waits are always long and getting in and out of the place makes it unwelcoming and we will not be visiting this one again. read more

A last min trip turned into a great meal...craving Italian and the reviews were always about the food. The staff was friendly and helpful with recommendations "Thanks Nic" the grandson. Starting off with the rosemary loaf freshed baked w garlic cloves and butter what more could you ask for.. of course next by recommendation the stack of Sicily .. the eggplant mozzarella and tomato were spot on and the combination worked perfectly... Next was the Sicilian lasagna a vegetable style w eggplant, spinach cheese mix and mushrooms... wow..what a flavor combo.. and im not a veggie fan when it comes to lasagna..ya definitely gotta try ..after a great dinner and quietly festive ambiance Mr Tony stoped by and checked on us checking on Nic and how dinner was .. Exactly as I hoped it would be and told him we'd be back !! That menu has more that needs to be discovered.. I came here with a group. It seems as if it was too much for them to handle even though the manager had told us they could - it was for someone's birthday! We had to wait (They had told us they would honor the reservation) and then they put us at a few tables - then they put us all together... In any event, they comped us a nice salad which was good but it was a long time that we had been waiting. The food was decent - they do sing happy birthday which was nice. Let me start in a positive note. The food is good. Pricy but good. Now the down fall. I placed an order online through Sicilian ovens website for a pick up in the Boca Raton location. I received a text from them that my food would be ready in a few minutes and I should head over. So I headed over. Then the text said let us know when you're here. I did. I let them know when I was there. I received a text. Thank you. Your food will be out shortly. 15 minutes later I'm pulling up to the front door and waiting for somebody to come out with my food. Nothing. A young kid comes outside and looks at me and asked me what's up. I asked him for my pick up order. He explains that I should've let them know I was there. I told him I did. Here's my text from Sicilian Oven that says thank you for letting me know that you're here. He then explains to me that they no longer do curbside pick up. Not at this Boca location. When I asked him about their website asking me for my car information he says it needs to be changed. Thanks Sicilian Oven for letting me sit outside for 20 minutes while my food got cold. read more

We looked online for the best Italian restaurants, and we found Sicilian oven. It was our first time visiting Sicilian oven and it definitely won't be our last thanks to Nic. The food was amazing, yes, but service is really important. Nic made sure that he checked on us often enough to never leave us needing anything, but was never imposing on us. We ordered the Sicilian salad, the arugula salad, and the pasta e fagioli soup to start. The arugula salad was a 9/10, the soup was 10/10. The Sicilian salad was 1,000,000/10 it is truly out of this world and you should try it. Your life will change after trying it for dinner, we had the vodka pasta with shrimp and the four cheese pizza with mushrooms (we added the mushrooms and balsamic glaze). The portions are generous, and the service is amazing and obviously the food is to die for. Thank you Nic for your amazing service and amazing first impression of Sicilian oven. Had our first experience at this particular Sicilian Oven location when we went there for lunch two days ago. Between the two of us, we enjoyed a small wood fired pizza, which was delicious, and the Sicilian salad, which is a personal favorite. Topping off our wonderful lunch was our equally wonderful server, Hunter! With our puppy in tow, we had to dine on the patio in spite of the heat, and she was quick to make sure he had a bowl of cold water as soon as we were seated.
