I've heard so many horror stories about management companies, so I did as much research as possible and spoke with as many companies as possible. We ended up choosing Clearstone and have not been disappointed. They are very communicative and responsive to issues and questions. They do a great job keeping an eye on the property, checking in with tenants and and keeping us informed. We're not big investors, so there was a lot riding on choosing a solid management company, and 5 years later we still feel we've made the best choice.

Worst experience I've ever had. If you don't want…read morefrustration and a lack of responsibility, don't hire this company. I would usually have to call and leave 2 or 3 messages before getting a response and there was very little follow up on things. The company rented the house to someone that was doing drugs and making porno content. Also, the person had a fake ID. Clearstone claimed that they checked the lady out carefully but evidentially not carefully enough. There was a lot of damage done to the house that was not repairable. Please check them Out carefully before making a commitment.

They were flexible on when they could meet and show the place. It was a great price and a well kept building. I applied and they accepted me as a tenant. I moved in during a hot summer month. I had some minor issues about a month or two in and as a tenant, you can go into your app/portal and file a service request. This process was SO EFFICIENT!! I was able to choose multiple times I was available for issues to be handled and whenever I did have a problem, it was rectified in a timely manner. Sue was my point person throughout my experience renting from Modern Property Management. She always showed concern for my issues and addressed any problem I may have had. I finally met her in person on my walk-through when I moved out (heading back to NY) and it was such a pleasure! I hope MPM has apartments available when I choose to return because I would love to rent from this company again! Thanks for a great experience my first year in LA!

Hey guys I just want to say that this guys don't really care…read moreabout your problems. And you will not get all of your security deposit back!!! I hope this info will help someone to avoid problems, sorry for any grammar mistakes. I am talking about apartment on Kenmore Ave They are so polite when you only start to work with them, but in the end your lease if you have any questions or you disagree with any charges and wanna security deposits back, they will say: "If you don't like something you can sue us!" And hanging up! Because it easy to talk like this with young foreigner! When it was problems with BEDBUGS in all apartments, they made a lot of tricks like you need to be at home to wait for disinfection. It's only your problem! They told me that my brand new leather sofa is infected and I need to throw it away. I said fine. I bought a new mattress because of this problem. And it's no compensation. They can call you to say that they don't like when sometimes you have a guests. But they are don't care that in some of the apartments lives more than 10 people who speaks English even worst then me! Because it's their friends or they are from the same community. When the water flowing from the bottom of the toilet and you call to the office, they fixed the problem 5 days later only and charge me for 200$ for this. They always gonna say it's your mistake! No redound no nothing When I ask to fix the door, because it was hard to open it, people came and fixed the problem but made a holes in a door by screws and nobody care about it. When the ceiling is crushing, because of cheapest paint and you ask manager to help they say "don't worry about it" nobody will make it for you, you will live in apartment with holes in a ceiling. Looks terrible trust me. When you ask " Is the security deposits is refundable ?" That say yes, but be sure nobody will give you your money back. They do the cheapest repair in the apartment and of course everything is crushing so fast. They are gonna do repair for your cost - be sure! When you asking "Do I need to paint?" They say "Noo, you don't need, just repair the holes from TV because we charge people for this" And did it. But anyways, they charged 650$ for paint. You know- this humans greed has no limits! The main door works not good, nobody control it and random people coming to get your clothes from laundry or wash their clothes . Yes they have no camera in laundry. Near the trash cans always someone seating and smoking or using drugs, they are don't care. They have camera there but only to say something to you, for some reason! They are so polite when you only start to work with them, but in the end your lease if you have any questions or you disagree with any charges and wanna security deposits back, they will say: "If you don't like something you can sue us!" And hanging up! Because it easy to talk like this with young foreigner! One star it still a point- not that hard to move and it's cheap option for new people one. Thanks for that. God bless

Based on my personal experience with this company, quite frankly, I am horrified. I am sure if you…read moreare a property owner they are just fine. Tenants beware, however. They don't return calls, even in person they have no answers, no person to contact, including my building manager that I have never spoken to since they took over the building. They give you no information on how they operate and/or their particular procedures. They charge fees readily and have zero follow up or basic communication. And yet they have many, many buildings they "manage" in LA. NOTE: By and large, a person goes to the trouble of leaving a review when they have had a partially noteworthy experience with a company- usually either bad or good. A person doesn't normally just pop-up to say that "everything has been great and things have been handled. No problems here!". But if you really start to read their reviews you can easily see a pattern. The real reviews from actual tenants state actual issues with history, facts and pertinent information. They clearly pad their reviews as well. So you can add honest to their list of glowing attributes.

Along with this, I received an invoice for the cleaning and painting charges, and that invoice itself was incorrect and showed the wrong amount. I strongly recommend avoiding any apartment complex managed by this company. Their "regional manager" never responds, their follow up on maintenance requests is mediocre at best, and like I said - they do whatever they can to keep most of your deposit. Never felt so ripped off before. ZERO stars if I could.
