YES! Take me here every night! Love thai food and this place does not disappoint one bit... Great menu options including a fantastic early bird option. Food is generously portioned, well flavoured... Authentic, which I love! If seated by the window, you can look out across the pond at Dundrum Town Centre which has a nice water feature plus at night is light up really well. Otherwise, the dinning area away from the window offer you a really cosy, comfortable area. Staff are very attentive, service has been top notch whenever I visit here. This place is nothing but perfect, they managed to give us a table with a good view although it was reserved an hour later, the staff were really friendly and the food didn't take too long to come. Their Tom Yum was superb, one of the best I've ever had and the pad Thai was heavenly with really good filling portions. Very busy place indeed! But I loved it..! The place is gorgeous and I was impressed by its decoration and finesse. I was here with a group of girls and we had the best time. The staff were very attentive and made sure all orders arrived at the same time - we were a big group of bout 14 ladies. The food was just amazing. I had vegetable spring rolls for starter and chicken massaman curry as main. Both were very very good and I totally recommend it. I was surprised that they had a nice selection of beers and I ordered a local Thai beer. Not very good actually and expensive (5.80 300ml bottle). If you like Thai Food this is a must for you. This is a very busy restaurant and I would advise booking ahead. The service is excellent and so speedy. We were seated for only about 10 minutes when the food arrived. Main courses are about €18 euro plus €3 for extras. The food is very tasty and good quality. There is a great selection of dishes on the menu and something for everyones taste. The seating is comfortable and classy. The candle on the table adds a personal touch. A window seat is very hard to get but brilliant if you get it. Even though the restaurant was full with people the beauty was that one was not roaring at each other across the table due to other customers chatters. So no hoarse throats leaving here. Want here recently for my girlfriends birthday. And I was blown away by the beauty of the place. Everything was amazing. The service was first class, the food was tasty and the atmosphere was great. There were loads of veggie options with the choice of replacing meat dishes with tofu! Went ventured up to the candlelight bar after our meal and were entertained by a live singer while enjoying a few drinks from the wide range of drinks available on the menu! My boyfriend surprised me with a meal here as we both love Thai food. He rang ahead to book a table which I would recommend as it is often very busy. We got there at 6.40pm on a week night and the place was packed! We were in there early enough to get the early bird option which was just €22 for 2 courses and tea/coffee or €26 for 3 courses and tea/coffee.. a bargain in my opinion! We had some white wine which was perfectly chilled and tasty. I had the chicken satay skewers for starter which is an all-time favourite of mine. The sauce was PERFECT! So nutty and delicious.. I would definitely recommend it. My boyfriend got the tempura prawns which were also very nice with a very light tempura batter. For our main courses I couldn't decide between the chicken papaya salad and the sole and mango salad so was delighted to hear they were out of papaya. I had chicken and mango salad.. great mix of both items I wanted! The chicken was warm and well marinated and the shredded mango and carrot salad were lightly dressed in a delicious citrus sauce. The flavours were lovely and it was a nice change from the noodle options that I'm usually drawn to. My boyfriend had a duck red curry which was also delicious! The ambiance in Siam Thai is very cool and the artwork is lovely. The service is great and the food is very quick. If the weather is nice you can sit on the terrace overlooking the pond. The menu is a bit pricey but if you get there on time for the early bird it is definitely value for money. The food is always perfect and the service is efficient and professional. I remembered my first time here 2 years ago when they still had menu for Jumbo prawns with tamarind sauce. It was so delicious! The best meal i ever had in Dublin. But when I came back for the second time, they only let duck to go with tamarind sauce.... which made me a bit sad that night! Siam Thai is a gorgeous restaurant in Dundrum. Perhaps the best located spot in the centre with a restaurant and and Candlelit bar overlooking the pond and the whole of Dundrum. The staff are ever so courteous and polite with an air of nonchalance that is quite refreshing in an often stressed out environment to see. The music was deafening I must admit in the candlelit bar once the pianist began so I might recommend sitting below if you want to catch up with friends or out on the balcony. Definitely push for the balcony though to avail of the fabulous views, of course space is limited out there but flirt with the beautiful waiters and you'll get out there. The menu is on the pricier side of things with 10-15 Euro cocktails but they have early bird menu for you bargain hunters! read more

I've been here a few times and loved it. The venue is gorgeous, the food is absolutely delicious, the service is great. Upstairs they often have a pretty good cover band and some special guests, if they are a little loud. There's a lovely atmosphere in the place and the staff are really good to try and accommodate you if you don't have a booking; that said it's pretty packed at the weekends so definitely try to book in advance. Siam was a great experience from the moment you walked in the door, the decor was exotic and beautiful and the tables nicely done. If you make a reservations ask for a table overlooking the fountains....they are synchronized and the water dances. Then starts the meal...prawn crackers are a must. Many of the meals are served a la carte. I went with an appetizer sampler and the whiskey Flambe duck confit....it was excellent! Siam Thai in Dundrum is a lot bigger than I expected it to be and it is very, very busy which, to me, took away from the experience of eating Thai food. Despite the many buddhas around the two-floor dining room, if you are expecting a moment of peace and calm - don't! Nothing wrong with a busy restaurant (they must be doing something right) but at times it was hard to hear across our round table of six. Food was decent. Few places offer tasty tofu dishes, mine turned out to be pleasant and nicely flavoured. Prices are ok for dining out I suppose, but now that I think about it my tofu and garlic with vegetables was €15 (meat eaters will pay about €17-18) and Jasmine rice was an extra €2. Bit mean, no? It's a little bit more than the price of a kilo of rice at the supermarket for a bowl of the stuff. As restaurants go, this is not bad, you kinda know what you are getting yourself into when you read the take-away style menu: fancy schmantzy decor, decent vino, Thai-flavoured food at reasonable dining out prices. Deserts were appetising but not at all Thai-themed, which was another letdown for me - cheesecake? Ok it's a crowd pleaser but what does it do for the authenticity of the place and the alleged Thai chefs working in the kitchen? Look, go. It's fine. my friend raved about this place to me lots of times, shehad gonewith someof her asian friends who also loved it, now if this restaurant is recommended by a thai person it must be good! so eventually i got the chance to go dow here, i would definitely recommend booking in advance because the queue to get in was long! the interior was just lovely very thai inspired in termsof the furnishings and decor. we had a brilliant seat that over looked the mill pond so wegot to people watchin between courses, nothing better than that is there!? the food was really nice! this is a great restaurant for vegetarians as there is loads of choice and lots of vegetable based options. they have normal deserts too, the one thing that always disappointsme about asian food is the lack of deserts that are bad forou (ie taste great!) but not here, they cater for us wetserners who need something yummy after a savoury main course! read more

Went here for dinner and was somewhat let down. The decor of the place is beautiful - while not terribly Thai - and upmarket, but unfortunately the food doesn't keep up with that. I was particularly disappointed with the fact that my panang curry was served with basil rather than Thai basil, which has a very different and distinct taste that really changes the overall taste of the dish. On top of that it was very poorly chopped and I ended up with whole flowers of basil in my dish. Overall the good was good, but not fantastic, and it certainly doesn't justify the price tag. + decent Thai food, but nothing a good take away wouldn't provide + great decor - can get very busy - some ingredients not authentic - very steep prices with mains over 20 Euros (outside of specials) read more

This is definitely an authentic Thai restaurant, this place transported me back to Bangkok. We went there on a Saturday at 7:30 p.m and it was packed, we didn't have a reservation but they were still able to accommodate us. They told us that they just needed the table back at 9pm which was not a problem because we didn't need to stay that long as our food was served to us shortly after we ordered. We ordered chicken pad thai and thai chicken with cashew, the food was served piping hot and tasted how they should. The place itself is elegant and beautifully decorated, this would be a great place to bring and impress a date. The staff who served us was nice, she even asked me if I was from Thailand too . This is definitely one of my favourite restaurants and I highly recommend it if you're wanting to try out authentic Thai cuisine. read more

One of the many restaurants in the Dundrum shopping centre development, Siam Thai serves lovely flavoursome food in a rich luxurious setting (think soft chairs, rich fabrics and attentive staff). It's a bit hard to find - on the bottom level of the centre (along with the cinema, Harvey Nicks, etc) over on the r/h side. Go up the stairs (or in the lift) to the second level, where you enter reception and generally wait anywhere from 10 to 50 minutes for a table. This place does get busy, especially on weekends, so don't expect to be seated immediately, and don't take a group without booking. The Pad Thai is magical, the Pad Kaprow (chillies and Thai basil with beef) is as good as any I've had in Bangkok. You can eat a good main here for around €15, so Siam Thai won't break the bank. There's a very flash looking cocktail bar upstairs too, which warrants further investigation. Recommended. read more

if I could give this 0 stars, I WOULD. the service was bloody rubbish. me and my fiance (Desmond but I call him Dezzy) were ignored on countless occasions to the point that I just wanted lay in Dezzy arms and cry. We ordered duck pancakes, after a long wait must I add. Dezzy was eating normally until I notice a stain on his new cashmere jumper. I inspect the fork, and the gaps in the utensil was much to big. Not only this, but there was a group of teenagers on the table next to us. Screaming the whole time. There has to be an age limit for restaurants like these. When receiving the bill I was completely shocked. The bill was was so incredibly cheap I nearly vomited all over Dezzy ezzy. Been here a few times and not disappointed yet. En route once again to what would prove to be an execrable movie, we booked a table for 3 at 8.15 having been told that was when the early birds began to depart. Sure enough, we rolled up on the dot, tiny reception area full of the hopeful and hopeless but we were immediately shown to a table in the centre of the room. The joint was leppin' so booking most definitely required.There were three of us, daughter chose the Paad Thai, wife the duck sortofbarbecued and I also had duck, only different. (Memo to self - take notes next time). Excellent fried rice complemented the mains. Wine was a very potable NZ Pinot Grigio, which I hadn't come across before and the bill for 3 was a tad short of €95 with service very much optional. Service was efficient so we were in and out in just over an hour. Generous tip later, we went to said execrable movie of which the less said the better. read more

I went here on a Sunday pre-shopping excursion. While I really can't stand the entire Mall experience - except Aussie Ice Cream - I thought why not try some somewhat pricey thai food to get off on the right track with a happy full belly. Well I certainly was full - I can gorge on most anything - but I was not happy. The bottled Singha(beer) was spot on, everything else was mediocre at best. I started with duck rolls - crisp and fried - uninteresting dipping sauce and dim sum - okay, so maybe it was a mistake ordering something called dim sum in a thai restaurant, but this was the anti-taste - no flavor, no flavor no flavor - and the same dipping sauce that the duck rolls came with. On to the main courses - Chicken Jungle curry - typically a spicey dish, of course, not here and it resembled soup more than anything else. The vegetables were fresh, but that is the only positive I can say. As for the other main, beef with basil and mushrooms - more soup, no spice, not interesting. Perhaps the chef was out sick or forgot how to cook, but I really can't make excuses. It just was not good. Save your 50 euro(for 2 not so special early birds). read more

My starter of chicken satay was decent but I had food envy for my dining companions king prawn. I had the wine, sauvignon blanc (six euro a glass) & it was seriously tasty. Mmmmmm. For a main I had chilli oil duck. Oh my God, crispy, delicious, perfect. Have been dreaming about it since. The service was super speedy, efficient and courteous. I'm definitely going back. My friends were drinking cocktails & they were prepared very professionally & looked & tasted great. Also for coeliacs, they are clued up on gluten & there were loads of gluten free options. Only criticism, is that even though tea or coffee were included in the early bird, we were charged extra for a green tea. read more

Can't fault the food here / it's over priced but the early bird menu is actually very reasonable. It's slowly going down hill and I think the decor needs modernising. The staff are quiet abrupt and struggle to smile (more gritted teeth smile) our waitress cheekily pointed at the YES icon for gratuity on the payment machine which really pi**ed me off, considering I was waiting ages for my main and got no apology! Heard a lot about this place so decided to try it out. Lovely staff, great place in a nice location. However, I got the lunch 2 course meal here a few weeks ago, and was kind of disappointed. The my spring rolls and won tons my lunch buddy had were under cooked and had an odd taste to them. I got the green Thai curry for my main course, and I couldn't finish it. Very strong flavour of lemongrass and too much thick vegetables. Yasmin rice was nice. I ended up swapping meals with aforementioned lunch buddy, a dark garlic and chilli chicken meal. It was better but kind of bland. Overall, I wouldn't rule going back out but I'm not rushing to return. I would give 3 stars but the likes of Yum Thai in the city centre do better for a third of the price. read more

Ate in Siam Thai Dundrum last Saturday, my friend and I ordered the Chicken Curry 20euro and the beef in oyster sauce 19 euro, neither came with rice or any staple, never heard of a curry not served with rice. We had to pay an extra 3.50 for a small bowl of rice, what a rip off! The curry was very nice but the beef portion was small and the oyster sauce watery instead of the thick Thai oyster sauce that is the norm for this Thai dish. You are paying for the ambience and the location, food overpriced for what it is. Went here frequently years ago but won't be back now. This is a example of a restaurant getting frankly a bit mean because of its past success. read more

Live near Dundrum and came here a lot over the last few years, esp on a sat with my mom or friends when out shopping. My experience is that it has gone quite downhill and service is usually relatively effecienct but completely lacking in charm...I used to love the set menu for a quick bite on weekday evenings ( which used to be full sized portions but now in fact is a smaller meal). Cocktails were like water last time we had them. Really annoyed with that. My wife and I had dinner in here last evening. We arrived around quarter past seven and we were guided to the table straightaway, of course we had a reservation. For appetisers, we had chicken satay which is the most favourite dish for both of us and glasses of white wines. They were a super-match. The sauce was not really tempting but that didn't matter as the satay was excellent. For the main courses, I had beef with massman curry and fried rice. My wife had chicken and prawns with fried rice as well. Both potions were more than sufficient and absolutely delicious. No doubt the food was brilliant but I'm not sure about the price, perhaps it may be worth during the early-bird. We have paid almost €60 which I thought was a bit expensive, as we have had the same or similar food in some other Thai restaurants for less. However, the quality of the food, place of the restaurant and the staff matters, so I reckon it's worth giving a shot. I would certainly go back, but surely for early-bird. read more
