OK, it's a bit out of the beaten track. This doesn't mean it is of second class rate! The ambiance is superb to say the least, the staff are very alert, and oh, so friendly! They even remembered us from the last visit, and what we wanted for desert.... It can't get better in my opinion! So the exquisite cheese cake was the desert we wanted indeed! The rest of our menu? Well, we had the early bird choice, which gave us a nice choice of starters (we had the platter for two, which had a choice of all the starters, very tasty). Very authentic Thai restaurant, with a hint of Japanese (Ayumi Ya Japanese Restaurant used to occupy this location) The three course menu is priced at EU21.95 and give a very broad range to chose from. Plenty for vegetarians too. I recommend the Aromatic Crispy Duck starter - its excellent. The Teriaki dishes (chicken or beef) are excellent also and my wife loved the yellow chicken curry. I have never been to the restaurant but ordered takeaway a few times. The food here is just amazed. Loved that. I have been ordering there for some time and I am never disappointed. Last time I had the Chaw Mein noodles and it was one of the most delicious noodle I have eaten. The only thing is the delivery time. It is a kinda of slow. This time it took them 45min. Before that, 1 hour and 10min =/ Of course, I try to compensate my annoyance with that by enjoying my delicious food but I believe they would try to fix that and make the delivery time shorter. read more

The Blue Orchid Restaurant is located in the Newpark Centre in Dublin City. It is a authentic Thai cuisine restaurant. They use the finest and freshest ingredients in all their dishes, one of their specialities is the Kaeng Kiew Wan Ki, which is green curry with fresh chillis and chicken. I love Kaeng Kiew Wan Ki very much as it has chillis but not enough to blow you away. hehe. The menu's they have are Early Bird, Alacarte, Set Menu Speicals and they also do take aways. Thank goodness for this late night joint. I needed some food after a long day driving the Irish countryside. Thankfully just-eat.ie had their website and menu listed, so we found a deal for 1curry, 1rice, and 1softdrink for 9.99E. I had their yellow curry with steamed rice. I requested extra spice and no onions. They forgot the onions at first, but they fixed it quickly. The extra spice basically meant green, red, and yellow peppers in the box, but that's alright. It was delicious! I ate every bite. The quality of the chicken was unexpectedly good. I think it was a good deal, and enjoyed it a lot! Quick service, staff are willing to customize your order, and the meal for one deal allows you to get even fried rice (not just steamed rice, if you want!) If I lived nearby, I'd definitely be back to sit in. read more

Got a takeaway. We are 5 minutes walk from the restaurant. It was delivered 50 minutes after the 15 minutes promised. It was barely warm, we ordered duck with pancakes. No pancakes came, and the duck was just crunch pieces of shredded fat. Awful. Complete waste of calories and what was supposed to be an occasional treat in getting a takeaway was terrible. Really tasty food, our favourite local Thai restaurant. Blue Orchid offer a variety of Asian food, they have delicious home made sushi. The food tastes good quality, home made and free from msg. Their yellow curry is really good. Really nice place overall and also the staff are very friendly.

Overpriced and unauthentic. Have to question Thai dishes served with Chinese fried rice and my crispy duck with plum sauce came entirely void of any sauce. Would not recommend. read more
