The owner Laura, made everything fun and uncomplicated and gave me tips which I could incorporate into other sewing projects. Sarah, one of the other instructors, recently gave me a private lesson to help with a zipper project, and again my experience was amazing. They make sewing fun and non-stressful and offer many awesome projects to do in workshops for all levels. The college was located on land they had purchased and later sold to the State of CT in 1845, that property is now called Bushnell Park. One of the original college dormitories was located right where the State Capitol Building now stands. Trinity College is a member of The Little Ivy Schools along with Wesylan, Amherst and Williams College in our area. The Trinity campus building architecture is simply beautiful the Main Quard is bounded by the clock tower and Brownell Chapel on the North, the straight run, called the Long Walk made up of dorms and classrooms on the West border of the green this is a grand promenade of the entire lenght of The Main Quard. The Green is distinct as it has no paths through it; the Elm trees on the green are planted in a "T" for Trinity. There is a larger than life bronze statue of Thomas Church Brownell founder of the college and to the rear on either side are two canons from the USS Harford, the flag ship of Rear Admiral David Farragut during the civil war battle of Mobile Bay in New Orleans. With my boyfriend, we signed up to paint a panda (moderate level) with Jessica Behm. I used to take art classes when I was young, but that was probably 10 years ago. On the other hand, my boyfriend isn't super artsy and painting is not something that he would ever do for fun on his own. But Jess was super easy to follow and was great with those who needed a little extra help on a step. We both came away from the two hour experience having had a great time and wanting to sign up again. They provide all the art materials and a smock, but it's still recommended to wear clothing that you don't get paint on (wasn't an issue for me but good to be on the safe side). My boyfriend and I ate dinner before and just ordered drinks when we were there. Ours was held at Wood-n-Tap in Hartford, and even though it was past 7:00, they still had a discounted Happy Hour menu that we could order from, which was great. (We got two delicious raspberry lemonades for $4 each.) There were some people who ordered appetizers with their drinks, but I'd highly recommend just eating dinner before, because you're going to want to focus on painting. Like another reviewer said, I would suggest getting there early and picking somewhere to sit that has an easy view of where the artist will be painting. Jess was great about painting a step and then walking around with her canvas, but it's just easier to reference if you're not always craning your neck to see. I love that Jess had a camera, and she went around taking pictures of people in the process of painting and of the end result. We were told the pictures would be uploaded onto Facebook later, and that we could look for them and tag ourselves. I think this company uses social media in a super effective way. I would say in signing up and choosing the level of difficulty for the painting that if you're not very good at art and want something decent-looking with minimal effort that you should go with the paintings that are marked "easy." "Moderate" for me was a little challenging, and I had to focus to make my painting look the way I wanted it to, but I'm also a perfectionist. They also add more painting events to the website throughout the month, so if you don't see something you like, definitely check back. On the same note, if you see something you like, buy your tickets early because they do sell fast. I'm so excited to do this again next month!

I have come here twice to see this documentary "No Other Land" because it isn't streaming or…read moreplaying anywhere else. I'm grateful that we have a theater like this in Hartford! I am not a member yet but I intend to become one. There is also an art gallery which I have not explored yet. I took a star off because the popcorn was not great. I only got it once. Maybe it wasn't fresh. I'm going back tomorrow to see the movie one last time before it's gone and will check out the art gallery and try the popcorn again!

Street parking is available as well as there is a huge parking lot behind the building. Classes are 3 pm every Sunday and the cost is $15. Classes are intermediate and if you are looking for a beginner class you would have to give them a call to see what arrangements can be made. I have never been to a bachata class and I did the intermediate class and it was manageable. A Salsa intermediate class is held shortly after at 4 pm and the cost is $15.00 as well. There are also a wide variety of additional dance classes and private lessons that is done at the Hartford ballroom. However, the staff here is really technique driven which is something I was not used to in previous classes. I love that they encourage elegance on the pole not just sexiness, Which again is something different from my Past experience with Pole classes. the club is affordable and educational. love that they have two locations. I'm not the biggest fan of the location in Hartford. However, it is more convenient than having to drive to Springfield. I did notice that the poles at the gym are not in front of the mirrors which makes it hard to check your form or your technique. I'm someone who likes to see myself when I'm learning. I also would love to see them add additional poles along with more mirrors, I do not like to share a pole in a learning environment. I feel like it takes away from my paid for hour but I do enjoy the open pole classes when I can make it. This place is definitely worth a shot if your interested at all in breaking your curiosity with the art of pole dance.
