I have taken shoes and sneakers to Shu-Fix for resoling & they did a great job. The price was reasonable so I didn't have to replace the shoes as fast. I have two more pairs of leather shoes I hope they can stretch a bit to fit better. One of the pairs is a ice foreign brand I hope to keep. Sad to say but one of their people died awhile ago. I live in the city so this has been very convenient. read more

Repaired my hiking Merrills beatifully and in a timely fashion. Reasonable price, good hours and easy to find.

I have been bringing my assorted boots and shoes to Shu-Fix for about 20 years now. I'm both frugal and I like to take care of my footwear. So when my weird gait makes my heel sole wear unevenly, I know exactly where to bring my gear to get Shu-Fix'd. They are professional, productive and an established business in the Northampton and surrounding community. read more

Owner does great work at reasonable prices. Like a "blast from the past." Repair was seamless and made the shoes look good as new.

I have used shu- fix in the past on custom boots made for me, turned out great!! This past time I went was because my Birkenstock sandal sole shrunk in the car from heat :( He fixed my shoe with the same Birkenstock sole, brand new, they have never been more comfortable. It was a 5 day turnaround. I just love local businesses. Especially when they know their trait like no other. He was so friendly the price was so reasonable and I would recommend anyone looking for a shoe repair to go to shu-fix :) read more

Prompt service - saved several of my favorite pairs - have been going to him for 20+ years - highly recommended.

Owner had porn playing through speakers during business hours. He turned it off a minute after I walked through the door. Workmanship is fine. But walking into that soundtrack was unsettling. read more

Mr. Shu-Fix has fixed my shoes (Birkenstocks, leather boots and sneakers, leather mules) for several years and has such amazing prices for amazing quality work. Could not recommend more. read more

I grew up in Northampton but live in Michigan now. I often visit my aging parents and still bring all my shoe repair work here. Extremely fair prices and does a fantastic job every time. read more

Brilliant. Brought him a pair of relatively new boots, where one boot was pulling away from the heel. He fixed it in a couple days, and only charged me $10. And the boot is like new. Perfect. read more

Over the years I've brought many shoes and sandals to be repaired and he's always done a great job for a more than reasonable price. Brought in three pairs of unwearable sandals in last year and got three good pair back for less than 1/2 the cost of one pair. Brought a now $200 pair of SAS shoes to be resoled this year and less than a week later had an almost new pair for $25- he even shined them for me! Repair and reuse before tossing!! read more

I had a pair of favorite shoes that needed heels and soles and was about to trash them. I recalled a friend telling me about Shu-Fix. I brought my shoes there and found a great craftsman. He called me within a week to pick up my shoes. A first-class job. They look as good as the day I bought them. It is a treasure to have such a hard-working and skilled craftsman in our midst. read more

Best decision I ever made for my favorite pair of boots. Had a pair of Thursdays I wear almost every day. Brought them in as one of the soles was separated at the toe. Owner to a look at both - and a couple of weeks later I returned to find both looking better than when I bought them. Restitched the sole and added new heel blocks to both. On top of that polished and cleaned them and they look better than ever - and for an unbelievably affordable price. The only place I will ever go in the future! read more

I had a great first experience with Shu fix. My winter boots had one of the zipper is broken and I really love them and didn't want to get a new pair over something so silly. I'm so glad that Shu fix is local so that I can get more life out of my awesome boots! They were ready quickly and he gave me a call once they were ready for pick up. Make sure you have cash because it's a cash only place! Great experience and I'll definitely bring other broken shoes that I love to the spot! read more

I hate to give a bad review to shoe fix however I brought a pair of my wife's winter boots to have a sole replaced 2 months ago. I have called him several times and he always very abruptly says I'll call you when they're ready well today I'm going down and I'm just getting the boots back unrepaired and will take them elsewhere.very dissatisfied with his service and his rude manners. read more

I have had so many shoes repaired and extended the life of many of my favorite pairs!

I don't like writing bad reviews. I honestly wanted to be a repeat customer yet this last experience left me very disappointed. This was my second time using his service, the previous time was okay. My aim was to have him add triumph toe plates to a set of slightly worn dress shoes. This would have been the first of three pairs. I made it very clear what I was looking for. Had he told me it was not a service he offered I might have still been a customer. Instead when the time to pickup my shoes came, I found he had added a pair of heal saver plates to the toes. the type of plate I wanted is flush mounted these are ugly hunks of metal that scrape the ground and change how you walk. Worse they are not even symmetrical. I pointed out that this isn't what I had wanted, he said that I could only get those from the manufacturer on new shoes. Something I know to be wrong As I have seen a number of cobbler shops advertise that service on new and used shoes. read more

A brief story, my 10 year old son had his prized baseball glove eaten by our Labrador the night before a big all-star game. He was destroyed. I called Shu-Fix in hope of a miracle that someone could repair his glove enough to allow him to use it. Shu-Fix worked a miracle crafting a new glove pocket out of leather in time for that night's game. That alone would have been enough to earn a 5 star review. But, that is only half the story. Because he did such an amazing job getting the glove to be usable my wife and I spent the money to buy a replacement glove to use for parts to get the clove closer to its original form. Shu-Fix basically brought this glove back to life using replacement parts and carefully crafted and stitched leather patches. All this incredible wor, and he refused to accept any payment because he wanted to help a child. I cannot speak highly enough about this man, his work, and the quality of his character. Truly an amazing gesture by a wonderful man. read more

DO NOT PAY ANY ATTENTION TO THAT ONE STAR REVIEW!!!! I think he/she is a little "cray-cray" as this cobbler did a beautiful adjustment on a brand new pair of 200.00 sandals. I have a super narrow foot and he actually took in the leather to make it tighter. He is a sweet man and his English is fine. Maybe this person has an problem with people with accents?? I have been in customer service and some people have unrealistic expectations and there's just no pleasing them. Period. read more

Have only been bringing them shoes and sandals and boots to repair for about 18 years, but still find the care, promptness, and value to be hard to surpass, especially within 30 miles of Northampton. Paul's in Amherst is okay but sometimes sloppier and always pricier. I've never had a regret yet with Shu-Fix even after they moved from their old King St. location. But maybe the next 18 years will be different? I hope not. Thanks to the people rating my post, I investigated and found that the cobbler, Jose Serrazina, was featured in a local public television program on local businesses/manufacturing called "Making It Here" on WGBY, Springfield, in Season 4, episode: Shoe Fly Pie http://www.wgby.org/localprograms/makingithere/pages/episodes_4.html. I checked the hours: Mon 8:00 am-5:00 pm Tue 8:00 am-5:00 pm Wed 8:00 am-5:00 pm Thu 8:00 am-5:00 pm Fri 8:00 am-5:00 pm Sat 8am-3pm I called and posted the hours of business. And FYI I have had Birkenstocks, Teva's, hiking boots, and business shoes all repaired here with satisfaction. Your turn. read more

The best kind of old-school service, thrift, and craftsmanship. We've got to keep skilled tradespeople like this in business!

We're so lucky to still have a neighborhood cobbler. I've been a Shu fix customer for what seems like 20 years. That should speak for itself. read more

I was about to downsize my shoe and boot inventory but decided to give shu fix a shot. I feel like I have two new pairs for around $30 each. I only wish I started sooner as I have sent many great pair down the river who were deserving of more time. read more

Shu-Fix has revived my favorite sandals twice now! The first day after I bought them, one of my puppy charges ate the strap across my right instep (not while I was wearing them ). He made me a new strap. Since then, I wore the bottoms out (they were a cheap knockoff of Berkinstocks). I brought them to him a couple weeks ago--a little teary-eyed--and asked if we could save them. He built them back on authentic Birkenstock soles! I am officially declaring my love for the Shu-Fix guy! read more

We've used this shop three times and been happy with all of the shoe work that has been done. One note -- the shop seems to always be a little backed up with work so plan ahead. From my experience it seems to take 2-3 weeks before your shoes are ready for pickup. read more

I go here at least twice a year to give any ratty-looking shoes a new life. I'm so glad they are in business. Lovely people who do great work for a fair price. read more

Good in all ways. Incredibly sweet funny man, exceptional service.

I love Shu-Fix! For lack of a better phrase, Shoes Matter, & I've been comfortable bringing mine here for over 10 years. The prices are extremely reasonable--last time I brought my boots in, I overheard another customer chiding the owner for not charging enough! It feels good to support a local business with this much history & integrity. read more

They fixed the liner on a pair of Timberlands that I had basically given up on. Now they are literally better than before and I bet I can get three more years out of them before my friends and family force me to get a new pair. read more

I've been going to this place for years. When I lived in Boston, I would bring my shoes in when I came back to visit family because I haven't found anyone else as skilled or reasonably priced. Plus the cobbler is such a sweet guy and will be honest if he doesn't think the shoes are worth repairing. Make sure to save your ticket with the shoe number! The shop is pretty disorganized and he can't find the shoes without it. read more

The couple who runs this place is SO nice! The prices are reasonable and the work is absolutely terrific. This is very much an old-school kind of place. They only take cash, you have to hang on to your ticket, and it can take a week or two to get the work done. But it's totally worth it. I've been really impressed by their work and will keep coming back. read more

Having a pair of Danskos reheeled costs $15, which is quite reasonable. In winter, it took a little over a week, which is about the standard time everywhere. They polished up a scuffed and worn pair of clogs they reheeled amazingly well; they looked better than they had in years. read more

Great cobbler. Very sweet and reliable. I take my leather goods to him to be fixed instead of buying new things. Prices are very reasonable :) read more

Great, quick service and fair prices. $15-$20 to get boots or heels re-heeled and shined up. I've brought at two pairs of heels and three pairs of boots to the store over the course of 5 years and have been so pleased with the results. read more

The first time I came here I could tell that the cobbler is a kind gentle man. He always has a smile on his face and is very friendly and helpful. I had a three-year-old pair of leather boots that had many signs of wear and tear and needed new heel tips. He made my boots look great by polishing up the leather and only charged $20. I can probably get two more good years out of these $200 boots. Definitely recommend this business. read more

Nice guy, good service, but I'm giving three stars because one pair of shoes was fixed quite nicely and the other pair was way worse after than they were before. read more

Strange little store, odd people running it. They did manage to save my favorite (but mangled) pair of cowboy boots lickety split, however, so consider me a fan. And so cheap! Just be forewarned that you'll feel like you're going to get your shoes fixed in someone's backyard-ramshackle-garage. read more

I don't know what happened to Fol A but he did a great job on my boots. As far as I'm concerned he knows what he is doing. He quoted me 2 weeks to do it and he had it done in one week. All good, no bad. read more

I had two pair of shoes fixed here and they were great! Had both done within a week. Perhaps a little expensive, but still much cheaper than what I could find in Boston! Also used quality materials that I know are going to last. Would definitely go there again. read more

I have lived in Northampton my whole life, never even new this place existed. For Christmas I bought my daughter a pair of Bandolini boots. She instantly fell in love with them. After wearing them once the zipper split, I tried to exchange them but they were sold out. I brought them to Shu-fix, he fixed them in two minutes, when I asked him what I owed him he said "happy new year"!!!! My daughter is so happy and I was blown away. I will 100% go back and gladly pay. read more
