His work far exceeds many of the actual shoe manufacturers' standards. I've brought shoes to him and he's pointed out the sub-par, inferior materials that are in Allen Edmonds and Alden of New England and actually replaced them with real leather and better grades of soles and heel stacks, etc. He's even willing to customize shoes by replacing eyelets with different colors. There's no job that he wasn't equipped to handle. Jack stays up to date with information regarding his peers nationwide and the innovative work that they too are performing. He is a perfectionist. My favorite boots of 20 years were destroyed. They were shot. Soles ruined. Leather ripped. He brought them back from the dead and they look brand new! The look like a museum piece. Also, I was nervous because I had an extremely expensive, luxury belt that needed additional holes. I hesitated to bring it anywhere. Again... perfect! Amazing work. My husband use to send his shoes back to Allen Edmonds for re-soling. They sent a pair back beyond repair. When I brought some shoes to be polished, I grabbed the dead pair with a hole one the sole. Jack did an AMAZING job bringing them back to left once again. read more

My dog chewed a big hole in my UGG boots which really upset me because they are my favorite pair of boots. I really didn't think the hole could be repaired without looking bad but I was so wrong. Jack patched the hole on the bad boot and put the same patch on my good boot so they look the same. No one would ever know they were mended. read more

This gentleman, while very skilled at what he does, is not very nice at times. Brought shoes to get redone a few years ago and he was not pleased that I wanted to use leather instead of rubber on the soles. Also, prefers to sell half sole resole instead of full soles. Not sure why, maybe more profit. The shoe and heal we're ok but my prior soles were burgundy so he painted over the half that was remaining with black dye and left the new half sole (which looked nice) natural. Didn't like the painted look. Would have preferred a full sole that he wouldn't sell me. He'll get the job done but may over charge, not like what you want and might grumble several times between a half smile. read more
