I hired Shred-it to come to my law office and shred a large amount of confidential documents. Prior to their arrival, I had received an online quote for their services, which I agreed to. However, when I received their bill, I was shocked to find that they had charged me significantly more than the quoted amount - more than $100.00 in additional fees! When I contacted Shred-it to inquire about the additional charges, they provided vague and unsatisfactory explanations that did not adequately justify the increase in cost. I feel that I was misled by their initial quote and that their billing practices are unethical and misleading. This is especially true where they already are aware of what these fees are in advance - which in my opinion is fraudulent.

You placed your documents into a plastic garbage can and then they loaded that into a truck. There were a bunch of things that you couldn't place into the truck like batteries. I was asked not to add red welds which makes sense because they are thick. I saw a man try to put some weird wet documents into the bin and he was asked to remove them because they could possibly cake up the shredding apparatus.
