What a fun store located right in downtown Winthrop! Are you looking for soy homemade candles or melt-aways? Maybe pj's, kitchen cutesies, sandals, summer dresses/tanks, or hats, you'll find it all here! The prices are very appropriate, especially for the quality items you'll find. The owner is very kind and keeps the store well stocked with whatever may be on your list! read more

We had to check out all the shops in Winthrop while doing the Cascade Loop and Shotgun Nellie's was one of the better ones. I'm not sure that's saying much. We weren't greeted by staff, nor were they friendly, but to be honest, that seemed to be the norm at every place we stopped in the area so perhaps it is just part of the local culture. This store has lots of clothes, bags and jewelry and it definitely reflects the style of the area. They also had lots of kitschy items and great souvenirs like signs and toys. We found an adorable lady sasquatch plushie here for our dog that had a male counterpart and even came in three different size options. Was it overpriced? Yes. Did we get it for her anyway? Yes. This is a good stop to browse and grab a memento or perhaps even an outfit if you want to fit in with the locals! read more

I travelled from Scotland just to visit Shotgun Nellies. It's a fantastic store with beautiful items and some great merchandise. I was fortunate to meet Shotgun Nellie herself, what a truly lovely lady and she kindly signed a shot glass as a gift for which I am unbelievably grateful. Please visit this beautiful store, you won't be disappointed. Thank you Shotgun Nellie, you are the best. X read more

Awful experience! Pathetic cashier YELLED AT MY DAUGHTER twice because he thought she was going to open a $5 toy. She was checking the price tag. We were all so taken back about what was happening. Rude!! Don't go! read more

Owner/shopkeeper yelled at my 13-year old and her friend while I was checking out, accusing them of stealing earrings which they were handling prior but set down. While I was buying stuff. It was unbelievably rude and I have never witnessed anything like it. Maybe it was because they're in a phase of wearing oversized clothes but come on, don't be a jackass. read more

The staff does an excellent job at creating an unwelcoming atmosphere. I have been here 3 or 4 times in the past 2 years and every time is the same negative experience. If the ladies at the counter aren't staring you down then they're watching you on the cameras constantly. How is someone supposed to comfortably shop when the staff treats you like a thief? The cherry on top is when I was in there yesterday paying for my new wallet the cashier was blatantly trying to look inside my purse when I was paying, as if I had stole something. On top of the horrendous staff the product they sell is overpriced and low quality. I bought a necklace that turned brown and tarnished within a couple months, and the clasp on the EXPENSIVE purse I bought broke within months too. read more

We had a great time in Winthrop, WA and one of the reasons was Shotgun Nellies. We bought several gifts and a knife. The ladies were helpful and we thought the prices were fair. They have a very good knife selection and can help you understand the differences in various blades and makes while helping you with your selection. The jewelry we gave as gifts were a hit with our friends so I would recommend them to you. We live a long way from Winthrop but hope we can visit the area again someday. read more

It's a small town with big hearts galore, some of the biggest are at Shotgun Nellie's. We came through Winthrop on a weekend trip in 2015, spent some time combing through the shops and bought some trinkets, gifts and mementos up and down the western style main street. It was after returning that winter and having the owner (Nellie).and her daughter (Kindra) remember us, after only crossing paths for maybe 15 minutes during the start of their busy season back in June. Yes, we absolutely purchased some great things there on our first outing, jewelry, wall decor, some cute magnets - but nothing I would think that made us memorable. We had a tragic unexpected loss between our first stop in (June 2015) and our second (Jan 2016) so having the shop owners treat us with such genuine kindness when we walked in reinforced the reason why we returned, to pay tribute to the person who took us there who was kind, generous and genuine. We are in the area at least 4 times a year now and make a special trip to hit Shotgun Nellie's and see what cute jewelry Kindra has brought into the store, what fun goodies are waiting for us to bring home to remember our favorite time with a special person and of course to check in and give & get a hug from these gals that lift our hearts and spirits every time we see them. The customer service is excellent and the store has something for everyone, I never leave empty handed and it's always with something (usually multiple things) I love. read more

Friendly family run business. Interesting selection of gifts, something for most tastes.

As annual visitors to the Winthrop area, we were very excited to find a new addition to the shopping fare. Shotgun Nellie's is a quaint, ecclectic gift shop, with a western and outdoor theme. Affordable gifts, unique antler creations and handmade candles, with a sparkling, talkative owner, artist, Nilcene (Nellie) Harris. We were fascinated by the offerings, from handmade knives, unique lamps, windchimes, metal signs , and so much more. We really enjoyed looking around and yes, found some great buys. The conversation with Nilcene was worth more than anything, she is a real gem and we can't wait to go back to see what new goodies she has to offer. This little shop is a great stop in town and without a doubt, you will be able to find great gifts at very affordable prices. read more

Watch your back. Shop owner accused my niece of shoplifting a $14 pair of earrings. Called the police and told the other shop owners. Had video footage of my niece holding the earrings and that is it. We are a group of 6 women who had spent a lot of money in the town during our weekend stay and prior to this horrible incident. Will not return to Winthrop. read more
