THE SETUP "The Trail of the Coeur d' Alenes" is a 72-mile paved biking trail that runs this span of Idaho panhandle between Mullan and Plummer. This unique partnership was fostered between the Coeur d'Alene Tribe, Union Pacific Railroad, the U. S. Government, and the State of Idaho, and each continue as partners in the governance & maintenance of the trail, with the Coeur d'Alene Tribe doing most of the "heavy lifting" in coordinating major improvement aspects. TRAIL EXTENT This trail is quite extensive in that it begins in Silver Valley, and then continues along the Coeur d'Alene River, past scenic Lake Coeur d'Alene, and then ambles through the agricultural tracts to Plummer. TRAILHEAD ENTRANCES At last count, there were 20 trailheads that provide the main entry points into the trail - though there are many adjunct entry positions that are not maintained by the trail-service - and there are 17 scenic waysides along the route for picnicking, biking, bird-watching, and just plain ole sight-seeing some beautiful countryside. Unbelievably disappointed I have been coming to this…read moreCampground for 5 years. The first two years were super great as Country Lane River Resort. The third year, the new owners, the two married couples took over, there were some stumbling blocks and some. We let that go and decided to go back the next year. That was 2023. In 2024, my group of about 65 women rented the entire tent circle plus about 10 other sites, which included five RV spots. We would quietly be enjoying meeting with our group in a circle, not blocking the public walkway and not disturbing anyone, when we would get harassed by a group of drunk folks that were completely disruptive. One woman specifically harassed our group for more than 30 minutes, walking back and forth, yelling into the circle, we actually invited her in at one point just so she would stop. I took this to the camp host and they said they would do something about it, but we ended our meeting early after her continued taunting. I am absolutely disgusted. We rented tent sites A-L and RV spots 4, 5, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, and 21 for July 17th through the 20th. The evening of the 17th was fairly uneventful. The evening of the 18th, the same woman from last year, with a larger group, came into our big circle screaming and asking what we were doing there and that we should leave and go meet somewhere else. This went on for over an hour and throughout the night. Then, someone dressed in a gorilla suit, with a large group of other drunks, was going to each of our campsites and scaring women. One of our group went to complain to the host and nothing was done about this. On this last day, the 19th, the campground hosted a live band, which we were not informed of, until the day we arrived; after paying over $3,200 to rent all of these sites, it would have been nice to have known this. When the live band went up, it was really no problem, the other campers seem to be willing to let us drive in and out of the campground. There were probably 40 people that were standing in line to get drinks as I was trying to drive out of the complex and as I was leaving, the drunk folks were nice enough to move out of the way so I could exit the campground but Chris, one of the owner's, stopped me screaming in my face and waving his hand that our group is no longer welcome here that we were a huge problem every year and that I needed to leave and not come back. I was shocked & disappointed we were being treated this way and he said that no one is allowed to come back into the campground until the band leaves. I personally have a disability and I was with another woman with disabilities and I have a handicap placard on my vehicle. It is beyond comprehension that someone would make me park my truck down the road and walk back to my camper. It's disgusting actually! We also had a woman who we later found out broke her fibula who was not allowed to ride back in a vehicle to her camper. I ask him what if there was an emergency and I needed to get out and he did not care. We were told that we were never allowed back at the campground, not that we didn't already make that decision for ourselves the night before, but I cannot believe that you could pay for a campsite and not have Camp hosts that are watching what's going on around the campground to make sure you're safe. There was also a point where we were told by some people looking to set up their tents that they we're told by the camp host that they could have any open spot in our Circle, even though we had reserved and paid for all of those spaces! I would not recommend anyone having children go to this Campground or anyone with disabilities or anyone who wants to be able to drive their truck back and forth from their campsite. If they have other plans, you will not be allowed to do so. I highly encourage the campground to have a host that walks through every night to make sure that no one is getting bothered by the other campers. I also strongly recommend that if the campground have an event, it be posted on the site and that the campers who have already paid for their spots be informed of what's about to happen so they can decide for themselves whether or not they want to be a part of that.

Finding information online about rentals available at the Marina are difficult, so here's what they…read morehave: Paddle Boards ($15/hour) Peddle Boats (1 small 2-seater and 1 larger one with seats in the back and a drink cooler), Canoes, Kayaks ($10/hour or $40/day) We tried the peddle boat and it was awful. We've done peddle boats at other lakes and enjoyed them, but these boats are covered in spiders. They are hooked up to the dock and you can see the spiders crawling out of every crack in the dock as they are trying to get the boat unhooked, and as you're sitting in the boat there's dozens of spiders, of various species, crawling all over the boat, you, and if you look up you'll see egg sacs hanging from the canopy. We were only on the lake for 20 minutes because the spiders were overwhelming and we were worried about bites. Also, the rudder is difficult to maneuver and feels like it might be cracked or some sort of broken because it doesn't work as well as it should. The boats are probably not well cared for or old enough it's time to replace them (or likely a combination of both). The lady working was also pretty rude. Her "jokes" were just insulting.
