I left my rifle there for about 10 days, and he went through it, repairing the rear peep sight, and the magazine feeding tube (which was bent, and non functional). There's really not much else to do in this area so I figured I might as well attend this workshop. Malia, the class coordinator, was flexible about letting me register at literally the last minute to take this class with my friends. I have to admit, I was pleasantly surprised at how well the class was designed. The brief lecture was far from boring, the instructor, Chris was very thorough and seemed to be an expert on the subject matter. Don't get me wrong - its a long course - almost 4 and a half hours long - but Chris is a very efficient, patient and thorough instructor. I honestly did not realize how quickly time passed because the material content and his presentation/delivery techniques made the material easy to grasp and understand. I especially liked how he tailored his content to both audiences who have been around and using guns all their lives - to those with limited exposure to them - myself being in the latter group. What I really appreciate about Chris's class is how much emphasis he places on safety and awareness - I think that alone shows the level of respect Chris has for an subject area that has drawn countless debates. I highly recommend taking this course. Even if it may not be legal (yet) to carry in your state, the permit you do end up getting is valid in nearly half the US. In addition, the level of knowledge you take away from this class alone, gives you more awareness and respect for gun use/safety.

We drove from Vancouver to Post Falls Idaho to meet up with the racing school folks at the local speedway. We purchased a full day's experience for our race fan hubbies and delivered them there at 8am for their two hour classroom briefing. They were given loads of really cool information, then they walked the track with more briefing. What it comes down to is my man got to put on a for real racing suit and helmet, and drove a 450hp sports car around a track 50 times with his best friend. Can you say "testosterone off the charts?" The school is INCREDIBLY cautious with their cars. I was grateful because they have earpieces in the driver's ears and talk to them... they spent quite a bit of time telling my sweetie to slow down a bit... so it it totally a safe experience. I removed a start from perfect because hubby would have liked to push a bit more... and they really clamp down on that. Even the passing is very controlled and by the rules. This is a mature guy's experience, and it is VERY authentic and a whole lot of fun. It is also one of the best priced schools in a day's drive of Vancouver. It was fun to watch and video the race. This school knows how to make it a safe and fun experience.
